GTX480 issues... major.

Recommended Posts

Ok, so I re-installed ArmA2 and it worked fine on GTX260 when I last played it (some time ago).

Current specs:

Win7 x64

i7 920

12GB ddr3

GTX 480

ArmA2 fps: 10-30 stuttering slideshow... completely unplayable.

........anyone else?

what driver u have for the GTX480?

do u have the latest patch 1.54?

did u do defragment after u installed the arma2 OA and patch 1.54 ( if u have it installed)

what settings is ur game ( video settings ) for both gtx260 & gtx480?

if u r running the game on highest setting thinkin that gtx 480 will do good no , nothing out there can run the game on highest , at least not yet.

I don't have Arrowhead so only have latest original game patch.

Seems to work (better) in Vista though... strange.

Hi Camrade!!.

I have the same spec as you except i have the 460; and I'm getting 68 fps on bench mark 08.

Try deleting your Arma 2 other profile in documents and settings, the game will create a new one for you when u launch it again.

I upgraded from a 260 and had crap performance until i deleted/renamed this file.

Good luck

Hey man.

Delete your old nvidia drivers, then re-boot, then install the new ones, re-boot again and then check what's your performance, you upgraded anything else? Check the power connectors and re-check cables after that, if the drivers aren't working.

Ok, been reading through the forums some. Turned of HT in bios, also playing on Vista since it works better on this game build. Going to install 2x 480 SLI this week and see if that will help with some improvement. Seems like not everyone has an imrovement with SSD drive, so I'll wait with that.

By the way... draw distance, this is related to graphics memory yes? I hate to have low settings on this, especially while flying, but also seems to have a strong impact on performance.

Also ordered Arrowhead, I hear there are performance increases to expect on stronger systems with patch 1.07 yes? Currently 30-50 fps on medium grapichs ArmA v1.2 but hoping to maybe turn on post-processing with SLI. With PP turned off it really looks flat... everything becomes eyecandy with that turned on imo :)
