Saved game during "editor preview"??

Can I restart a game that I saved during / from the editor "preview" mission mode? If so how?

You can save and restart in editor preview as long as you remain in the mission you're playing. Once you suspend the mission and go back to the editor screen all save games are lost and you have to start from beginning.

Whats really bugged me with the editor is... Has anyone noticed you dont get the after action review with how many enemy soldiers you killed like you got in ofp? :( Damn I miss that..

Yeah

after finishing the mission click on "Statistcs". There you can see all the kills.

Yes, theres a few ways.

1. if you build a mission and then save it with no name then once you leave the editor

you basically lost your mission

2. If you save your mission as a usermade mission then it will show up in the usermade missions folder

and yes you can replay, reedit the mission

3. If you save it as a sp mission then it will show up as a pbo in you sp missions folder in the main

diretory, same applies to mp missions, although you really want to build mp missions in the mp editor

as if you wish to test the mission then you have respawns availiable vs the editor you dont.

4. lastly if you build a mission and just preview it with no save, then as long as you remain in that

mission in terms of rediting it you won lose your save, once you change to another mission then

you will lose the mission, so best to just save with usermade if you plan to redit your missions.

My situation is this - I build the mission. Saved it. Saved it as a editior mission BUT NOT to the single player mission folder.

So yesterday, I played it, from the editor "preview" option. While about 45 mins into it, I had to leave. So I clicked the save option. It seemed to save it. I then closed out.

But now, I don't think I can replay it. Even though, there is a mission file, within my "mydocuments/user saved" file. However, there doesn't appear to be anyone to restart this mission from the editor at this point.

I can go within the editor and hit "preview mission" again...but then it just naturally takes me to the start of the mission.

It seems, the only way to be able to stop and restart within a mission is to make sure you play it from the "single player scenarios".

Probably. What you're asking is like saying "I filmed a movie on my camera phone, but didn't upload it to my PC, and now I can only view it on my tiny camera screen!"

Save the mission to single player, play from there, problem solved. The editor is for editing. :)

Yeah. And that is fine. My only point was....that it was a great mission so far. With multiple fierce firefights and my guys had just advanced to a very advantageous postion (when I had to leave my house).....

I usually only play from the single player sceanrio sections....This one time I didn't.....and when I noticed there was / IS a saved file for my "editor preview" game.....I was just wondering if there is a "saved file" why can't I play it.../ how can I play it from there....

But it doesnt' seem possible...

Maybe PBO up the mission, move it to scenarios, play it a little, save it and replace the saves with your editor ones?

You should be able to save mid game in the editor as well, i dont recall doing it.

another idea somewhat outside of saving but helps you keep your missions going you may or may not know already,

if your with or in or commanding a squad, make all of them playable, so that when you die,

you can just switch to the next guy on the list you choose, or whos left alive.

I wish this feature was in OFP back in the days when that all there was.

LOl I think i knew that but not playing OFP for quite sometime one begins to wonder about things,

after playing a game for such a long time you find about things that

you never knew about before, especially when you think you know all there was to know.

Would have been a great feature though back then, and well even now when i play I dam wish it were there.
