I run an Eyefinity setup as well and I leave the NVG scope as is. It is a realistic representation of the loss of peripheral vision when using the equipment. It is really hit home when playing on a triple screen setup as you really feel how narrow the FOV is with the night vision on.

Actually ingame NVG doesn't even come close to the real loss of peripheral vision. :) Don't know how it turns out on a 4:3 display, but on my widescreen I have to constantly hold zoom-in button to get close to the real deal. Normal zoom gives me about 80-90° FOV, while the device is listed with 40° FOV. But I haven't seen any mods that does this (could be achieved with eye about alf the diameter I guess).

But it is clear that not everyone wants this level of realism. Hell, we shouldn't even be able to use iron sights with night vision. :)

Remove the eye? Oh my...

Heading off to school, but I remember a topic on the forum that did exactly what you want. There's a file in your docs/arma2 that holds vert/hori fov values. He gave a quick tutorial how you measure your monitor to give a 'real' fov.

Pretty cool, need to do it again

Know about that one, but I need the expanded FOV for "normal" use. That "perfect FOV" (monitor is window to the game world, and all scales are matching) I get when I zoom in (more or less). So in non zoomed state I won't be getting matching scales, but I will get that added peripheral vision which is realistic (my eyes normally sees more than the monitor, I'm not that near sighted :D). I would probably use that technique though if I had 3 monitors going; always being in a zoomed in state, where extra monitors gives me the lacking peripheral vision.
