TCEd 0 Posted September 1, 2010 (edited) What is AGW? Tournament - a community of gamers who play among themselves by dividing into teams and having regularly scheduled competitions. AGW is a large, member-run ArmA2 community that has 2 armies that play weekly battles for a 7-13 week campaign. We have our own custom maps (AGW AAS missions), and play them by rules created using input from the membership governing everything from in-game conduct to how the missions we play are determined. Community - a unified group of individuals who gather to share common experiences. AGW is a community of online gamers who enjoy playing competitive, organized matches in the game. AGW is an open and welcoming community. Members of AGW are free to be members of gaming clans and/or other outside groups, we just ask that they stay active at AGW - taking part in training, strategy sessions for upcoming battles, and naturally being here for the actual battles - when possible. It's a sense of community that keeps a tournament alive, and the dedication and contributions of all our members that allows us all to have fun and build friendships with other AGW gamers. Structure - the hierarchical organization and rules that help manage the activities of the community. The Generals are the leaders of their respective armies and are key leaders in the AGW community. They must see both their position as General & AGW Community leader to be effective. The duty of a General is to prepare a successful army and strives to beat their opponent each week, but the other General is an AGW member also, and our community comes first, so a successful General must always keep a good working relationship with the opposing General and army. The General appoints HCO's (High Commanding Officers) whom assist them in carrying out their duty, and CO's (Commanding Officers) to directly lead their many troops. The Tournament Admin Staff appoint the Generals each campaign, but they are Administrators only, and serve to manage the community forums and refereeing battles. Building AGW - adaptation and growth are critical to being a great place to play ArmA2 on the internet. AGW will always work to test and implement new features and game mods in order to both keep things interesting for its members and attract new ones. This may be a difficult task which demands many resources, but is critical to our success in providing a fun past time for all members. We must be willing to go the extra mile to help build the community, because without people, there is no community, no tournament, and no fun! Recruitment is a key role that all AGW members can take part in. You can help by spreading the word about AGW when chatting with friends, playing on pub servers or visiting other gaming sites, but please remember to be respectful when representing your community and always get permission before posting about AGW on other websites. To Enlist you will need to register on our forums, click HERE to register & join today!. Edited February 17, 2011 by TCEd
