wolfbite 8 Posted September 1, 2010 I have a cylinder set out in roughly the same manner as how It will look when finished but I have to move points out of the standard cylinder shape. Is it possible to make the next "Rib" in the cylinder exactly the same with a shorcut or will I have to go along the whole thing and adjust them individually... Also further down the line I have to make a panel that is recessed in the model. What is the best way to cut out this shape (Its an airbrake) I have allready moved the points on the cylinder to form this but the are still part of the cylinder. Alas I am at work at the moment so I cant post up a picture... Thanks for any help... Will probably have more questions further down...
DaSquade 0 Posted September 2, 2010 As for you first question i guess a pic would help a lot. Second one, you could make an object that represent the airbrake 'cut' and then use carve option (structure -> carve) to cut that object out of your main object. Depending on the complexity of bought objects you will need to to clean up the geo (deleting unneeded vertexes and remake faces).

wolfbite 8 Posted September 3, 2010 (edited) A is the allready modified to shape rib... I want B too look exactly the same.. is the only way to achieve this by manually adjusting all the points or can I auto shape it somehow? Also this is a bit embarassing its been a long time since I properly used o2... How do I get my backround textures to appear again... And is there a way I can set o2 so that they allways appear when I start it up. Thx again guys Edited September 3, 2010 by wolfbite Pic missing
[frl]myke 14 Posted September 3, 2010 If i'm not mistaken by looking at your picture and also not misunderstand completely what you want, you might work it out this way: select all points @ B, goto "Points -> Transform 2D -> Scale". Guessing the points already have the general shape and only correct size does matter. Else, the hard way, delete points @ B, copy/paste points (not faces) from A and move them to position B and redraw faces.
wolfbite 8 Posted September 3, 2010 Is anyone able to explain how to get my backround textures to show when I open o2 up again please? When I turn o2 off and come back I dont know what to do to get them to load up in the the 4 plan view again... A Right click and restore doesnt do anything.... Wolf try to set the background texture up again but this time map it to a face ...just make a plane the same size as the texture and press B to map it ...now when you reload o2 select that face and press Ctrl B ...this should bring back the texture as it was mapped to the face. ofc for the 4 plan view you need a mapped face in each view in the relevant orientation . wolfbite 8 Posted September 27, 2010 Okay another random question... Is there a way I can add more section to the middle of my model... As I realise I need to add some extra sections to do more detailing.. Is there a simple technique to add them in without dismantling everything?
