Muscular Beaver 0 Posted September 1, 2010 Hey guys, I bought BAF and installed it. The textures are a lot better now, but compared to the original textures of OA (for example BAF infantry vs. US infantry) the textures are far more blurry on BAF models. Is that supposed to be? Lhowon 10 Posted September 1, 2010 There's always a touch of personal opinion to these things but seeing as you say "far" more blurry I'd say that's definitely wrong. If anything the BAF infantry make the US units look slightly dated... No idea what could have caused that, unless something went wrong with the install. -)rStrangelove 0 Posted September 1, 2010 Can u provide screenies with a British and American unit side by side?
Zipper5 74 Posted September 1, 2010 One thing I have noticed is that Arma 2 is telling me I have two BAF mods running, but one is obviously BAF Lite. So I get two icons in the bottom left of the screen, and two mods under Expansions: You can see the one I have highlighted in the second half of the picture is BAF Lite due to the low-res logo. I highly doubt it does, but maybe that has something to do with what you're getting? It'd be good to at least have the BAF Lite entry removed as currently it just looks odd. Perhaps someone from BIS could comment on the matter.
Muscular Beaver 0 Posted September 1, 2010 (edited) It seems to be a bug, because I cant replicate it in the editor. All BAF units have very sharp textures there. However yesterday in multiplayer it often happened to me that I saw some BAF units being blurry (LoD not applied properly?). I try to make a screenshot of this issue tonight when I play. It might be very slow texture loading, but I doubt it because at one time I saw a BAF unit directly beside a US unit, while the US unit was perfectly sharp and the BAF was blurry. I also waited a good amount of time for textures to load. Edited September 1, 2010 by Muscular Beaver
Zipper5 74 Posted September 1, 2010 Ah, that's just slow LOD-changing then. Happens from time to time, especially in a performance-demanding scenario. ;) I actually agree with Lhowon, the British units do make the default OA content look dated in my opinion. They're very high quality.
yanhchan 10 Posted September 1, 2010 The only fix I could think of when it happened to one of my friends PC was to install the whole game again, yes its an hour long process, but at least if you did mod folders properly you'll recover everything
