alikair 10 Posted August 24, 2010 In the first mission where you lead a squad of tanks, and your in tank 1 as a commander. its easy to send all units to a location or using the f1-f12 keys move single units. but how the heck do you move just your tank? f1 does not single out your tank what does? alikair 10 Posted August 24, 2010 Thanks kylania. at first glance it doesn't appear to answer my question though. I will read thru all pages and see if it does. ---------- Post added at 04:15 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:08 AM ---------- OK, I even downloaded the pdf. no help. maybe I need to make my self clearer. if you are in a tank and you lead a group of tanks. If you hit the space bar and pick move here, all tanks will move there. Is there a key to tell the driver of YOUR tank to move without all the other tanks following that order? CarlGustaffa 4 Posted August 24, 2010 Assign them to colored teams using the 9 complex menu. To select press shift+F5 i.e. to select F5s whole team. This would be a perfect mission to show off color teams by having them assigned from the start.
maddogx 13 Posted August 24, 2010 Pressing the WASD keys as commander will more or less directly order your driver to move forward/backward/left/right, similar to when you drive. Also, clicking on the map with no AI units selected should command only your driver to move to that location.
WhoCares 0 Posted August 24, 2010 But as long as they are in formation they will still follow. You have different options, e.g. the colored teams described by CG, select them and send them to a different location (they will end up with a "Ready" in their icon) or simply select them and order them to stop (1-6, iirc; will show "Stop" in the icon). After any of these steps you should be able to maneuver just your tank.
Gunter Severloh 4067 Posted August 24, 2010 Theres a bunch of ways for you to move your own tank: 1. Pressing the WASD keys as commander will more or less directly order your driver to move forward/backward/left/right, similar to when you drive.what he said and in doing so the Ai will move the tank.2. Go to your map, and click on a location not to far from where you wish to go and the Ai will take you there. 3. Become the driver yourself 4. hit the F key for your driver and click on the ground ahead of you This is the Wiki version of what Kylania posted: http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/ArmA_II_AI_Squad_Command theres many vids in there for reference. A good way to learn and get to know how to play the game is to go into the editor and place some units down and just play around with them. last but not least the game should have a manual on how to do this stuff.
