Feldish Mod Redux .86 w/RTS alpha

Ok, so im uploading the mod now. The mod hasn't changed except for I added the finnish houses, and I disabled the arrow and spear effects to prevent the crash. This puts it version .86.

I really wanted to put a detailed user manual in the briefing, but It didnt work out so well. So ill do that later. Im gonna quickly tell ya how to get started in the mission.

I put the mission file in the mod mission folder,move the Virovitica Island folder to your default OFP missions folder.

Ive included an intro.

You start on the island with 3 squads including yours. Your first task is to build your base. SImply select build base from the action menu. Youre #2 will do all the work. This takes about 2 minutes or so. While you are waiting you can command your 1st and 2nd squads. Alt click to select, shift click to move. There are 21 points on the island. For the alpha, you just have to take them, not destroy the enemy. 5 Building will be built. The largest building which is the 4th to be build is your barracks. Once your barracks is built you may begin purchasing units. Select the command button from the action menu, and select the unit type and squad to be built. A Squad must have a team leader for units to be added. Units may not be added till the leader is built. Once a unit is selected to build, any further purchases will be queued. You can view the queue in the unit queue menu. Most units take about 30 seconds to build. Each squad can only have 10 units.

You can view the other various reports throughout the command menu. You may switch to each squad individual camera but using the radio menu. (0,0,0) (0,0,1) etc, etc. This is nice to watch your squad battle and see whats going on.

Your units will report intel on your map. the enemy base, squads, and natives. This are identified by markers. Flags are bases, crossed squares are the enemy. Green is native units, red is kossian units, blue is your own,

To resupply units, build a supply wagon. Goto the resupply menu and select your squad. A unit must be within 200 meters of the wagon to begin the resupply. The squad will run to the wagon and grab their ammo.

To take points, send a squad to a point. Squads do not have to remain at the point to hold it. Each point taken gives you an extra reinforcement point. You get r points about every 5 minutes real time. Theres currently a bug with points, if a dead enemy remains present, it will change to red if no units are present. You still get the reinforce cred though.

I think I covered most of everything. Its really pretty simple once ya figure out how to build and move units.

I just tried it out. The command system is very easy to use and the menus are neat and well organized. It's all pretty intuitive. A few bugs and suggestions:

- It seems like the "Exit" action on remote squad's action menus build up every time you view them with the camera

- It seems like squad leaders endlessly loop move orders after they have taken an objective.

- More feedback in general would be good, perhaps using sidechat. Stuff like "Objective Taken". Possibly something like "Our spies report the enemy has taken an objective" to report on enemy movements.

- Make wagons less prone to damage. I bumped a number of trees and this was enough to injure my whole squad and kill me.

- It would be handy to be able to relocate your base for a sizable RC cost (there could be a "camp wagon" similar to the supply wagons for this purpose).

- It would be cool if the natives screamed war-cries as they attacked.

I'll play some more and post further impressions later.

Ya, The exit thing is an easy fix, i should be able to get it fixed soon.

I added a cycle waypoint for the squad leaders before because they used to search and destroy when they arrived at the wp, but had problems. They cycle is probably not needed. Ill fix

I thought about using sidechat, but had mixed emotions on it. Ill probably end up using it anyway, because there are already so many hints.

Honestly, I havnt really used wagons that much in the game. But I know they are hard to drive. Ill try to update it in a future release.

The whole camp wagoon isnt a bad Idea. Orginally you could relocate. I decided to nix it. I might readd it once I get the AI smarter than a retarded baby dog.

I actually had thought of the scream myself before. It would be pretty cool to have an indian screaming at you why hes charging or the kossian as well. Ill probably add that in as well.
