A number of companies offer systems to upgrade the fire control system of T-72 series tanks with thermal imaging capability.

BIS is known to not have the most realistic tech in their games, so they could very well go ahead and do this. Wouldn't be any different from having thousands of non-existant KA-52s flying around.

I wasn't trying to be an asshat, just keep in mind that on the other discussion it was mentioned several times that most T-72s in the world don't have TI, even though T-72s with TI do exist.
