sudden texture disappearing inside campaign

Recommended Posts

I'm a newbie to this game: I'm in the campaign until the situation where me/Armstrong remains alone inside a wood just as soon as the russians start their invasion; I managed to get stealthy inside the wood but, after half an hour, all textures except for trees, disappear, and I see only pink/purple gradations, either in place of the the sky or in place of the ground:

OFP 1.29

Athlon 1.1GHz, 3dfxV5500, 512Mb, DX8.1

thanks for any help

Yes, I had this problem too. I have a AMD Athlon T-bird 1600, if you have a Nvidia G-force 3d card, download the latest drivers. It should fix your problem (well, it fixed it for me!)

Drivers should fix that issue. But you're running a beta patch (1.29). After the driver upgrade, Uninstall OFP & reinstall OFP 1.20 and patch to 1.30.

I'm slightly suspecting that you're right, BoonieRat smile.gif, that's fog!, a ugly foggy rainy morning! ;

I tweaked some settings in OFP start panel, and gave a try with Glide (all combined with a little gamma adjustment):

the game returns to be playable smile.gif , and it's a joy to move in "Thief"-like stealthness

I have the same problem when playing Flashpoint on my old Thunderbird with Voodoo 3 card. Solution: Don't use Direct3d, switch to Glide instead. (worked for me). If you already use Glide, then I don't know a solution.
