Group it with a higher ranked blufor unit and set the propability of presence of that blufor unit to 0.

There is also an init line command but forthe love of god i cant figure it out how to make it work(same result, just a little more elegant imo)

Heres the link to it: http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/faction If someone can explain how to get this to work then :D (or maybe this command is supposed to do something else?)

Open up the mission.sqm file with a text editor of your choice. Change the side manually to "west". Voila!

But I want to use it in the editor as a west unit. Can this be done?

Now that is elegance. :sun:

Old school editing. You can't beat it ;)

A word of warning though: If you try to open up a sqm-edited vehicle by double clicking it in the editor, it may revert back to it's original form when you hit OK. So make sure you have added everything you need to the helicopters init-line befor you turn it into a west helicopter in the mission.sqm.

It's also wise to make a backup copy of the sqm-file before you start messing with it.

Place a empty one and get US crew in over adddriver, then you have a bluefor chopper.

Or as someone said place a higher bluefor unit as group leader and set his chance to spawn on 0%

rsult is same: bluefor chopper

no scripting needed (only initline command to get us units as crew in an empty vehicle)

I suggest using first method (empty vehicle+us units)

how to:

-place empty chopper

-give it a name (H1 for example)

-place 3 us inf units

-get in their initline 1x "this moveindriver H1" and 2x "this moveingunner H1"

If you want some more troops in it in the back then use: moveincargo

Works, but then you have still enemy troops in the chopper. No us soldiers or blue helmets.

Then you have friendly-enemies flying the damn chopper, hehe...

Not so elegant i think, after they disembark or you look inside when close to the chopper.

Hmm, why don't you place an empty chopper and spawn a blufor pilot in it.

Edit: you want its name to appear as green in the mission, right? Not sure if its possbile in the editor.

Not so elegant i think.

Far more elegant than going on an under cover mission in a stolen enemy vehicle, while wearing your original uniform, don't you think? ;)

I'm making a mission now in which the Russians and Americans are friendlies and killing Takistanis, and using that mission.sqm edit works perfectly.
