guy123 10 Posted June 2, 2009 I read on the CTD's thread that many people had this same issue. I thought it would be a good idea to create a separate topic for it, so that when a fix is found, it can be looked up easily. The problem: basically, on the mission 'Manhatten', after playing for a short while (usually about 20 mins) I get a CTD with http://img355.imageshack.us/img355/4352/wtfa.jpg error message. My system spec: AMD Athlon 7750 Dual core - Black Edition ATI Radeon 4870 - 1gb 4GB DDR2 (800mhz) RAM - (Geil Black Dragon) Plenty of hard drive space My ArmA spec: ArmA German version, patched to 1.01 All settings 'very high'

Also try and do the mission on a clean start of the game ( ie close the game then restart it and play the mission) this is not a gaurentee that it wont crash, but by doing that i managed to complete the mission twice dispite all the bugs in that mission. ( which i wrote a report about in the offical missions section)
guy123 10 Posted June 2, 2009 for that mission lower your settings to normal/low and set video memory to defualt, this should allow you to play that mission for longer before getting a OOM crash. This will likely work, but (very shallow) I find it hard to enjoy the game on low graphics. Sadly I'm a 3d Artist, studying 'Computer Game Art' at university in the UK. Because I study game art, I find it very easy to notice how the game is constructed, and sadly this ruins the immersion, and it is no longer fun. I know my system is well capable of running the game, and I have a feeling the memory issue is down to me having an ATI card. When 'video memory' is set to default, I get glitches, when it isn't I get the OOM crash. Looks like I'm just going to have to wait for the new ATI drivers to come out on the 10'th (10.6.09) :( ( which i wrote a report about in the offical missions section) I'm glad to hear it, its great to see that BIS have such an active community of testers! Most games companies would kill for this kind of die hard community.
