ok thanks for the info

does the vanilla arma do the same? also what if the ram is a limiting issue? what to do in that situation
-
I have another question, is it better to have one 2048x2048 all merged or one 1024x1024, one 512x512 and a 512x256 separated?
-
Yeah, I also heard that sometimes it's a visual bug so you have to copy n' paste it so it fixes itself.
-
So i have a model with 6 sections but 4 textures and 1 unmapped tri's, how can i reduce the amount of sections to 5?
-
is there any formula for all of this?
-
Different LOD level keeps changing depending on the distance, how is it calculated?
-
maybe you can check bandwith but not ping man
-
cool mod, its like danmod but its also for handguns

Title says it all, give it all you got!

I know, I own all those Discords
-
i see, i thought there may be something that takes the closest points around that area of a selection, or maybe even inside that area itself, so it automated the rest to other LOD's or something like that, but thanks for clarifying
-
How can I easily give the same selections to another LOD? Like lets say I made 1 selection in 1 LOD, and I want that specific selection part to be automatically be on other LOD's instead of making selection for all LOD's one by one manually with hand. the LOD's are different tho, different faces, verts and etc. That would easily cut down on time if it were automated. Is it possible?

Perhaps a little while after Arma 4 release. ~2025, the hopeful me thinks.idk why ur coping man, arma 3 still exists, it still makes bohemia money. as for source code release, this was mentioned again, theres literally 2.01 unofficial version of the game out, its somewhere in the forums, bohemia doesnt seem to care abt it anyways, cus otherwise they would be suing. and ontop of that its not easy to make something open source, its a loss of money

if ofp buys ea, then that means codies would own ea cus codies own ofp. and if ofp owns ea there would be ofp 4. since theres arma 4 then there would be arma 5 cus for bohemia to make themselves look better, they will slap a number thats higher than ofp's. cus everyone knows the bigger the better right? tbh ofp should just buy the entire world and make a sequel for the world called "World 2" where victor troska gets revived by revive script and goes to take down guba for the 1985th time.

can i use them inside batch? passing the argument n stuff
if yes then which one
-
Is there a program that can unpbo a .pbo file thru batch? IK theres cpbo.exe already but sometimes with "cpbo.exe [-y] -e %%~i temp" in a for loop, but it doesnt do it that well sometimes for some reason cus of contents of the file. I need it for missions. So... is there a way?

OFP was released in 22nd of June 2001, and 10 years later, it has been rebranded as ARMA:CWA
After 20 years of OFP, I will be hosting an event on a MP server in the 20th anniversarry of ARMA:CWA on 14:00 UTC of that day.
This server has 1650+ missions and the AI on that server has been drastically improved.
The AI uses cover, supresses, uses houses for cover, uses their gear efficently as so on.
We will be playing missions ranging from co-op, revive/respawn missions, original campaign missions, death match, team death match, battle field, battle royale and so on.
This is one of the missions that we will play. Go ahead and test it by yourself:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1RLd4ibjutZvHPq5RqcscqUT7vGYtLdE9/view?usp=sharing
There will be another new top secret mission coming in soon, so get on the discord server and you will be notified on when it gets finished.
Or you can monitor OFP server by using OFPMonitor (The IP of server that the event will be hosted is 85.149.129.153:2302):
https://github.com/Poweruser/OFPMonitor/releasesYou can also use Fwatch game scheduel to join:
https://ofp-faguss.com/schedule/show.php?server=4b47f4ad
Hopefully I will see you guys there, and thank you Bohemia for inventing this game for us.- 2

why is there bin/config.cpp or bin/config.bin in the mod folder? are those needed?
-
No because this is a CPU test not a GPU test. If it was a GPU test then resolution would have mattered
-
Since there is an old idea going around that "Intel CPU's are good for Arma series. Ignore AMD's" but now its not anymore and I want to make that clear. So first I want to talk about Ryzen 3000 series. Ryzen 3000 series has a new CPU architecture called Zen 2 it has 15% more IPC increase in average than the previous generation's Zen+ CPU architecture. IPC increase per generation depends on the application in OFP it might not be even 15% so it could be less or more. Now I got a benchmarking mission where it specifically tests CPU's (the results make it obvious and changing from discrete to integrated GPU didn't make any significant difference. RAM speeds didn't either). So here are the Ryzen benchmark samples I got:
Ryzen 7 3700x 3.6-4.4 GHz - Got 4375 points in average with all core turbo boost of 4.2 GHz
https://i.ibb.co/ZSRzTXk/r7-3700x.png
Ryzen 5 3600 3.6-4.2 GHz - 4235 points in average with all core turbo boost of 4.1 GHz
https://i.ibb.co/8gQtyTM/r5-3600.png
Now for the Intel CPU benchmarks:
Core i5 9400 2.9-4.1 GHz - 4080 points in average with all cure turbo boost of 3.99 GHz (it may say its 3.96 but it was hitting 3.99 mostly)https://i.ibb.co/pxJMgGH/i5-9400.png
Core i3 7100 3.9 GHz - 3950 points in average with all cure turbo boost of 3.89 GHz
https://i.ibb.co/DYRyCYF/i3-7100.png
With Intel's Skylake architecture the benchmark points seem to hit around - how many all core turbo boost ghz you get times 1000. Ryzen 3000's series is the same but it gets 100-150 points more than that. And lets also not forget ryzen 5000 series with Zen 3 CPU architecture exist and it gets 20% more IPC in average than the previous gens Zen 2 CPU architecture. (Edit: I also want to point out since OFP uses 1 core it doesnt seem to use CPU's 'single turbo boost' it uses 'all core turbo boost' instead. Basically CPU's never hit the rated single turbo clock rates when OFP was running)So in conclusion my point here is that AMD CPU's are better than Intel's in OFP now.

What makes this game so unique even now that its a sandbox game with military elements of it. Others may say its a military simulator but it isn't. For example when you get shot in the leg you can just immediatly heal up from a medic in seconds and go fight again with full health which is unrealistic. They made this part unrealistic for the sake of player having fun and game design. I can go on and on about this. And you can also make different game modes which doesnt have to involve anything with the military. But from your perspective I can say that you're kind of a retro gamer and you probably feel nostalgic playing this so that's why its unique for you. And since you're kind of a retro gamer at its time there wasnt any game like this.
Ps: Even tho the answer is kinda obvious I thought we were gonna get "Why other people thinks this game is good" post. I'm glad it isn't. -

https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk/releases
Just copy the d3d9.dll into the same folder as d3d8.dll. It will pass from Direct X 8 to 9, from Direct X 9 to Vulkan.
I tried it in Arma 3 single player, much smoother and give it a minute to create the shader cache folder, so give it a shot.
But unsure if it is battleeye compatible so no MP games tested.
It didn't work. I got 4042.04 on windowed. That's 500 points less.
Which games have been influenced by OFP and for what reason?
