Well, I can. But I need this done by Saturday, this includes the complete model, texturing (which will take a LONG time), and armour values. So to speed things up, I was wondering if anyone had any premade ones I could possibly use. Also, quick update pictures - http://gyazo.com/aa0b4c4fda4449672f10afce23bb0936 this picture shows that Im doing pretty well on polys at the moment, at only 318. You can also see I added the built in magazine pouch. http://gyazo.com/fe35947556c97d507b0a57a87e669f6e

http://gyazo.com/8621c6b4548e0f89cc51bad0e81ac761 If you are wondering why it is laid out and slightly crooked, I am going to "fold" it around the player model once I get to that stage, the bottom part is the front of the vest, the top is the back panel, and the things off to the side is the cumberbund. Obviously still needs work, but this is barely any time.

Im assuming you mean pictures of the plate carrier?

ARMA 3 Addon Request Thread
J. Rainey replied to max power's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
I would really love to see someone create an AR15/M4 with a keyhole mod rail on it, long and short length. It just adds to the realism of the game, because more and more US Special Forces as well as civilians are using these due to the weight of them, they are super light. Picture of reference. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-dQfzeZmIM6s/UdPMoZL6kVI/AAAAAAAA3go/e6D4UGzAIQw/s1600/MadBull-Noveske-NSR-RIS-Review-KeyMod-rail-system-airsoft-obsessed-03.jpg -
Player looking for squad (not for squads to post looking for players!)
J. Rainey replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 3 - SQUADS AND FANPAGES
Hey, Everybody. I'm Jordan, but most people know me as Rainey, call me whatever you want. I'm 15 years old, but don't let that throw you off. I have been a part of multiple MilSim communities/units for the Arma series, the biggest being the 2-75th Rangers, which has since been disbanded. I also know how to take orders, being a Police Explorer in real life, which basically means I'm going through police training and procedures at the age of 15. I'm looking for a pretty specific unit to play with. I want to join a Seal TYPE unit, basically a group that uses the same gear as them, maybe the same type of campaign/missions. In my past units, I have been a Machine gunner, Ammo bearer, Marksman, and Rifleman, as well as an emergency helicopter pilot. As you can tell, I am very flexible with my abilities. I am most interested in units that use the same gear as Navy Seals, meaning LBT 6094's (I have only found one modpack that currently has this) AOR1/2 camo, HK416's, etc. If you are interested in having me in your unit, please send me a personal message and I will get back to you as soon as possible. -
Alright, so I'm working on my first 3D Model, a Glock 17. I found a good background image, got it into Blender just fine. And rather than modeling both sides of the gun, I decided to Create a cube, cut it in half, then mirror it. Whatever I do to one side of the cube, it does to the other. But when I got the cube into the spot that I wanted to start the model, and I selected the top edge, it only moved the top and bottom edges, not the middle one. Does anyone know why this is happening and how I can fix it? If you don't understand what I'm saying, since the half-cube is mirrored, when I select the top edge and move it, it moves the bottom one as well. But it doesn't move the center one, where the cube is mirrored. I watched a video, and did exactly what the guy did in the video to mirror the cube, and he can select the edge just fine and move it. So why can't I?

Hey, guys and gals. I've been working a lot on trying to get into modeling and making addons for Arma. So in this mod pack - when it is released - it will have firearms ranging from pistols to sniper rifles. What I plan on doing is making the more modern version of weapons that you don't see so much in Arma. So instead of making an AR15/M4 with a standard RIS and LE stock on it, I will be making the AR15/M4 with a Magpul MOE stock and a keyhole rail on it. You can look forward to that. I will also be taking suggestions on what weapons to make as well as requests. So far I have only modeled a Glock 19 but it's not in game yet. I have to animate it, texture it, and write the configs but I figured I'd get this thread started before I forgot, so attached will be a link to pictures of the Glock in the modeling program I use. http://imgur.com/a/7zYsZ I will update this post when I have the gun either ingame, or atleast have it textured. If you want to get in contact for a request, feel free to contact me on these forums. If you have a suggestion for a future weapon, feel free to comment on this thread. -Rainey

If anybody uses Blender and Object Builder, would you mind helping me? I seem to be having a butt load of trouble importing my file into OB and I have no clue why. Thanks.
-
Alright, so a couple of things have happened. I made a ton of progress on the Scar, only had to finish the rear sight, so I saved it and the file became corrupted the next time I went to open it. I have no clue why, but I raged. However ,I have begun working on a .38 special snub nose revolver, and I will post pictures in just a few minutes when I update this. The gun itself is done except for the trigger, I just need to finish the cylinder that holds the rounds. --EDIT-- Here are the pictures, everyone. I obviously still have to go through and round off a lot of things like the grip, trigger guard, and barrel, but still. Been working on this for about a day now, and I'm already almost done with the modeling part. Let me know what y'all think. http://imgur.com/a/8HmEQ -Rainey

Hey, guys just a small update. I have begun working on a SCAR-L today. But rather than using standard equipment on it such as a standard pistol grip, and standard stanag magazine, I will be putting a Magpul MOE pistol grip and Magpul PMAG on it. I will post pictures once I make a little bit more progress.

Alright thanks guys. -Spartan, I was actually going to ask you about those because I hate the standard A3 ballistics. -Ckrauslo, thanks. If I jsut can't figure it out and need some help I'll ask Robert but he's probably pretty busy on his own work. I try not to bother people whenever I can. RA Update - The next weapon I'm going to model is gonna be a SCAR. I'll let you guys decide which one, the one with the most comments will get done.
-
See I knew it was an update issue. The reason I never got the newer/est version is because someone said it was buggy when I installed it. I'll go update and see if it works.
-
So, I downloaded the Arma 3 Tools from Steam, I finished making my 3 models (LOD, Shadow, and Collision) and whenever I export them as .obj's and import them into Object Builder, they are upside down, my barrel is outside the rest of the stuff, etc. If you need any pictures or anything I can provide those.

Okay, here it is. It was to long and confusing to type, so attached to this post is a picture of the console. http://imgur.com/7f4LaqR

I did check the Window Menu which is where I saw the error, but I'll get it for you.
-
Alright, thanks.
-
Alright, so after I downloaded it I tried to install it into Blender, but it kept having some error. Should I try to get the latest version of Blender or is that not the problem?
-
Thanks, guys. I'll give it a try and see if it works.

ARMA 3 Addon Request Thread
J. Rainey replied to max power's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
If I knew how to code and stuff I'd do this, but I don't. I would love a mod that allows your to break down a weapon such as an AR. For example, you would hit a hotkey and get the options to take apart the top and bottom recievers. After that, you get the option to take out the barrel from the upper receiver, and the option to take the stock off of the lower receiver. This way, they would fit into a backpack. This would be good for undercover missions, or even a Life RPG mod. Just imagine, you're an undercover US. Navy Seal, Seals never go anywhere without their AR. You're investigating someone and they make you. Rather than pulling out a Glock or Baretta M9 which only holds 12-17 rounds, get into cover, put together you're AR and go Operate. -
US Special Forces WIP

So your thinking something like this : http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/70124481630880607/AA055D7523DD3CD05DD52CBE5272895BB3A847D6/ ? I can't really see anything in that picture. Basically, what I'm saying is keep the sleeves the same. But make the chest and stomach area a Tan/Coyote Brown. If you want, I can find some good reference images. Because on the actual Combat shirt, it's more complicated than that. On the real version, part of the upper back is Tan, the chest and belly are tan, etc. So if you want I can help out a bit. -

Have you tried Google? Seems to have the answer to all my questions. Except the meaning of life. By the way, just because you are using a certain uniform pack, doesn't mean you can't make them look like Combat Uniforms, even if they aren't. For instance, on the Woodland uniform, on the chest and stomach, instead of having the Woodland camo, make it Tan or Coyote Brown. It'll look different, without actually changing the mesh. -

Gotcha, I thought you were making the uniforms. None the less, the camo looks good. -

Hey there, Marcus. Just a tip, instead of calling the V2 uniforms "V2" Call them the camo names. For instance, the Desert V2 should be "Desert Marpat" and the "Woodland V2" should be "Woodland Marpat" Overall, nice uniforms however, U.S SF use the newer Combat Uniforms. They take the sleeves from the old uniforms and sew them onto Underarmour type shirts. The most famous company that does this is Crye Precision, might want to look into that. The camo looks nice, though. Here is a link to the Crye Precision Combat Shirt - http://www.cryeprecision.com/P-APRCSE02LGR/G3-Combat-Shirt%E2%84%A2 You can find the Combat Pants on that website, as well. Also, I have no clue why but it seems that most Special Forces guys tend to go for the "TactiCOOL" look rather than the "TactiCAL" look, and leave their sleeves and pant legs untucked. So, keep these things in mind. Just my 2cents and constructive criticism. -
Hey, everybody. I've asked a couple of questions on here about how to get started with modeling and the basics, and I'm almost done modeling a Glock19. But I know there is a lot more than just making the basic model. Sadly, my internet is too slow to watch videos (Yes, I know. I live in the woods, I'm moving soon) so I can't watch any tutorials. With that said, I was wondering if anyone knows of any TEXT tutorials of how to make a model, texture it, and get it in the game. I know it will be a long tutorial, but I'm willing to read it. If this isn't out already, would anybody be willing to make one, because I can't possibly be the only person in the world with this problem. Thanks in advance, Rainey

That tutorial is meant for 3dsMax, and I'm unfortunately using Blender but it's basically the same thing, so it should work. Thanks for the link, I'll try it.
