Wiki articles about M1A1 and M1A2 requre some updating as they aren't mention an ability to dump the FCS lead. Articles concerning T-series tanks are fine in that aspect. :)

"Opening up Arma 3 to paid user-made content" - How?

Well, there is a very limited amount of people who would actually buy modifications and they ain't going to buy all of them. So, your content has be better than all other modifications, both paid and unpaid (nobody is going to buy your mission even for $0.50 if there is a free version that provides roughly the same gameplay). The first and most obvious step in order to outperform someone is to stop helping him, stop sharing with him your precious resources, your knowledge and your time. Without taking that step all other steps to increase sales are basically useless because the one you helped will sell content similar to yours with half the price/more features/more content. I believe they do. Any company will go for a great lengths to decrease competitors share of market and increase their own and I really doubt that artists from Rockstar are eager to help Ubisoft in making Watch Dogs 2 for free, just because they're great folks and all that.

"Opening up Arma 3 to paid user-made content" - How?

The discussion in this topic revolves around supporting mod makers but I doubt that this is BI’s primary motivation. Here is how I see it: BI have failed to make a playable game – in a sense that there is, like, 0 official servers or popular official gamemodes and the quality of the content varies from “could have been better†to “mediocreâ€. Judging from my server browser, majority of the players launch Arma to play community-made missions (and ironically the most popular of them isn’t even related to military) and BI is perfectly aware of that situation. Now, along with attempts to improve quality of their own content they have decided to push players into exact copy of Team Fortress 2-style microtransactions: someone from community makes a weapon, community votes for it, Valve puts it into its store and keeps 30% fee from every purchase of that weapon (the rest goes to the author). Other weapons that haven’t been approved by Valve are available freely on third-party resources. BI adopts similar approach and voila! – they have a relatively small but steady income and they don’t even have to actually do something apart from checking out “Most popular – this month†or Armaholic from time to time. Who loses with that approach? The player, since he bought a game that is barely playable without [paid] community content or servers. Who wins? While authors of some modifications have some benefits from this system, the ultimate winner is of course our beloved Bohemia Interactive. Everyone at BI can literally (ok, not literally) play Mineswepper all day and still have a small but constant income, just like Valve does. Capitalism, ho!

    Marksmen DLC Weapon Feedback

Oh, right, how did I managed to forget about subsonic ammo? Thank you for the explanation! :)

    Marksmen DLC Weapon Feedback

Yeah, I aware about that feature of Arma series but with ASP-1 bullet's climbing rate is too high even on 300m zeroing. I've never seen similar trajectory on other weapons unless my memory is failing me. Just checked out and MAR-10 and Mk18 ABR have much more straight trajectories.Anyway, that's just my unprofessional opinion. :)

    Marksmen DLC Weapon Feedback

I've noticed that ASP-1 Kir is mistakenly listed under Weapons category in VA. It's not a rifle, it's a bullet mortar of some kind. Jokes aside, I'm not an expert in firearms but I'm quite certain that it is physically impossible for a bullet to start gaining altitude after being fired from a weapon with straight barrel. Am I missing something?

    Squad (PR:BF2 Devs)

Arma 3's strong point and unique feature is community-made cooperative missions, not usual PvP game modes (with some exceptions). Squad won't kill Arma 3 just like Insurgency and Counter-Strike haven't killed it.

    Maps in ArmA 3

It's totally possible and that feature, I'm fairly certain, used by the majority of players. You can select who can see you marker (your group/side/entire server) by selecting an appropriate channel. I think BI going to make marker placement more convenient in upcoming update.

Consider The Consequences Before Being A Dick On A Server

If Arma 3 had a decent anti-cheat protection, this thread would have never been created in the first place. Oh the irony. :) And it's only getting worse, sadly. If I understood the last SITREP correctly, to join the protected server "...you'll need to either let the game restart itself upon connecting to a BE-enabled server, or start BE manually". Now I'm not really sure who's going to inconvenience players more - cheaters or the system that was supposed to be a protection from them.

Congratulations, folks! :D You are doing an outstanding work (I can't even imagine how much effort you put into making this mod over the course of years) and you have totally deserved the first place!
  12. You can have two identical difficulty presets which will differ only by 3rd person view setting. But if you still want to have it your way, you're almost there. All you need to do is just set Params_CameraView in kaysio's restrict_view.sqf to 3 instead of 1, like this: Params_CameraView=3; That should do the trick. :)

What game features would you pay money for?

I would pay $10 for ability to automatically hide each and every Altis Life/Wasteland server from my server list. :D But since it's a serious tread, I would pay up to $40 for Insurgency's (standalone game, not Arma's gamemode) weapons handling and feel. New World Interactive somehow managed to implement it so well that after one hour in Insurgency weapons in Arma feel like a cardboard prop. That feel goes away after couple of days but still. :)

It's almost impossible to believe that second image is 3D model, not a photo of a real scope taken with high-end camera. The quality is simply unmatched!

Interesting. I always thought (since BI implemented direct view only on vehicles with non-periscopic viewports) that direct view is not possible unless driver's line of sight is not blocked by vehicle's hull.

While BI's implementation of PIP is indeed subject to improvement, why do you want them to be removed? Here's Arma 2's BMP-3 without any PIP. I don't really understand how being virtually unable to see where you going (unless you have switched to the 2D view) is good for gameplay.
  17. No. Take a look at difficulty tab at game settings, you can contol AI's accuracy and its general skill independently from other parameters. You can even play at Elite with AI accuracy set to almost 0% if you like. :)
  18. No, it's not supposed to be a simulator. It's 'military sandbox' according to BI's own words. Those things are disabled through Arma's difficulty setting, there is no need to disable manually in each mission through scripting.

The Stamina/Fatigue system needs to be fixed now!

Oops, the_Demongod has outrun me. I guess I have to throw out a couple of MAAWS rounds from my backpack. :P That's indeed not really much and it's kinda strange, I've never had a "full-stop" with more heavier equipment.Considering running — as folks pointed out on previous page, you actually can run for 600 meters (and even more) with that gear pretty easily but you cant sprint (i.e. run with maximum speed) for that long. I'm not an expert but a 300-meters dash on the edge of average soldier's physical limits is a pretty good result, don't you think so? The way I understand current fatigue system, sprinting should be used to escape danger in critical situation like running to cover, not for traversing through an entire city. If player want to get somewhere fast, he should use a transport or arm himself with patience and use regular run. That approach seems quite logical to me.

The Stamina/Fatigue system needs to be fixed now!

I've never encountered a complete inability to move due to fatigue in Arma 3. Could you specify what gear did you carry?
  21. Wow, the flashlight on map is awesome! And it's really great that this feature can be build into specific mission. Thank you for releasing this! :)

The AI and AI's UI needs major improvement

While I agree with you on many points, I don't think that Arma's AI is poorly designed or useless. In fact, it's the best AI I ever seen in a computer game that performs (considering extremely huge and dynamic map) well with reasonable hardware requirements. While AI works on his own it's doing a pretty great job actually. The challenge with leading an AI squad (or being led by) is on player's side — he have no way to properly communicate with his squad and, in turn, AIs can't communicate with alive player like they do with their fellow AI-controlled team leader. It's painful to micro-manage every unit's needs by yourself but the second you set them free (by ordering to clear area/guard/move here) and let them handle themselves, they return to the normal not-so-retarded behavior. Once you ordered them to return into formation, get ready to feel like a mom of 8 gown men with guns and intellectual capacity of a toddler. So the problem is that AI expects player to lead them like he is an AI-commander (i.e. issuing order for every move) but they have very limited means to announce their needs to player and player should guess how exactly AI would react to certain command, dig through a menu and issue commands step-by-step within right periods of time. If something goes wrong, you have to start form the beginning. Yeah, it's pretty terrible experience but honestly, I don't think that there many other options for BI. They can't afford creating highly advanced AI (which will learn from player's behaviour and eventually start to predict what player needs or something along those lines) for a $40 game and players can't afford buying two data centers to have this advanced AI actually run on their rig. Sure, a new, refined UI will be way better than current menu from 2001 but the problem itself is more complicated and I doubt that it could be resolved with couple of patches here and there, sadly.

Wow, that's one impressive model of a great firearm. Thank you for your amazing work guys! :D Would totally enjoy playing with it even if references to political stuff will be scattered all over it. :p @Sabre Yeah, I understand, it was a small self-irony. :) @Sabre Ok, got it.
  24. Thanks for the update folks, it's great to see AGM compatibility (and that ammo storage in M107's magazines is finally closed for good. :D).

I'm not saying that this decal is strongly related to the conflict, just saying that coincidence is somewhat unfortunate, from my point of view anyway. But if you say it's not related, alright, sorry (again :() for distracting you with my "See Politics Everywhere" perk. :)
