Arma 2 OA Error- Display Adapter does not support format D24S8 for X8R8G8B8
jimmyjjohn posted a topic in ARMA 2 & OA - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
I bought Combined Operations on sale a few weeks ago, along with the DayZ Mod, DayZ Commander, and DayZ Epoch. I have been playing fine (mostly on Epoch servers through DayZ Commander) the past week or so and I played a good 20 hours. However, a day ago, it suddenly stopped working every time I tried to launch it and it would say, "Display Adapter does not support format D24S8 for X8R8G8B8". I looked it up, and most people think it is a problem with their graphics adapter, but, (at least for me) I don't think it is. I have tried every solution dealing with my graphics cards that I could think of, just to fix this, but nothing worked even thought I have everything set up properly. The only thing that will launch my game correctly is if I disable BattlEye. However, then, I can't play on most servers, which makes the game not very useful to me. Because the game only launches with BattlEye disabled, I think the problem is not my graphics, but BattlEye. I don't know why this happens and it is really frustrating. Please help! It would be MUCH appreciated. :P Thanks! -
I don't really get the point of that list. It's full of things that are just not going to be in the game. May as well just put : I want every nato/russian vehicle/weapon/aircraft in the game.

What is the difference between the APL licenses and a Freeware License? I came across a mod that uses a Freeware license and nothing else. Where does that fall? It states that permission must be granted by the license holders prior to any use of said mod in any mission or mod. -
ATTN NOOBIES! - New to ArmA II or OA - Here's the place for your questions

Well, I just got arma 2 and I'm still very new. I've searched all over the internet but despite that, I couldn't fix all of my problems. The sole reason I got arma 2 is because I'm obsessed with FLIR. ANYWAY, here are my questions: - When in an aircraft (e.g Apache) how do I switch to the gunner seat? Note: I am playing through either the armory or in preview mode through the map editor. - How can I zoom when I'm using the UAV? How can I fire the hellfire missiles on a particular spot on the ground? (without locking on to a particular target, some sort of way to get it to follow a laser pointer?) - How can I create targets for the UAV through the editor? I've got my UAV setup (MQ-9, UAV station, player etc.) I just need to create some targets to play with. Also, In what other game modes can I play with FLIR aircraft systems? (Any particular campaign, mission etc.) PS4 Modded Controllers -
Xbox One Modded Controllers This is perfect for those who love their old 360 controllers, or had a real expensive modded 360 controller and now don't have to worry about buying another, or want to use a PS4 Dual shock 4 controller or want that extra edge by playing with a keyboard and mouse. Naturally you have full access to all of the mod packs too so you can now play with a fully modded controller on your Xbox One Modded Controllers - including our latest addition to the mudpack range, CALL OF DUTY GHOSTS V1.0 - again supplied free of charge and will be out very soon (Until it is released you can use the Call of Duty Series v1.7 Game Pack to work with COD Ghosts on the Xbox One)

Will my PC Run this? What CPU/GPU to get? What settings? System Specifications.

ArmA is meant to be multicore optimized. If that's true, it means that a Quad Core will be of much more use than a Dual Core, even if the latter is faster than the former. 550w should be more than enough for your configuration, assuming the PSU is of good quality (How old is the PSU?) The big question here is what motherboard you have. Certain older chipsets may not be compatible with Quad Cores. Although the chances are that your motherboard will accept a quad core no problem. -

ArmA3 BI Tools: No entry 'Config.bin.cfgBuldozer'
jimmyjjohn replied to soldier2390's topic in ARMA 3 - BI TOOLS - TROUBLESHOOTING
Its a half mil sim/ half sandbox tactical FPS. So like the guy above me says itll take time to get used to. As an ARMA 2 and OA veteran 3 has improved in some areas. Now we have DX11 support, the same powerful editor. As for the M16A2, you're set in 2030 in ARMA 3 thus the weapon is long outdated and will have been replaced according to the weapon plot in the game shown thus far. Also i would not expect such a weapon to be added just because you're familar with it though there are mods around to add such weapons but BI sees them as outdated most likely (the original M16 was made in 1962) Thanks Sport Motion Graphics -
Well I had a little assumption that those vehicles used in ArmA 3 were indeed used in real-life but still, I miss the humvee's and the M16's and M4's, those were looking great! But I guess it just does not fit the future... Thanks Medical Motion Graphics

Arma 3 Engine - What would have been a better option and what can we learn?

I agree with some and disagree with some of your points, but I am in your boat. I feel this is an incomplete game that still isnt ready for release (ex: Alpha and Beta runs better than retail version) and I still recommend people arma 2 over arma 3 Thanks
