  2. in hindsight, i think this should be in the mission editing forum.... would an admin be able to move it please?, thanks. I'm trying to make a mission with nothing in it except the modules for ACE3 and a simple vanilla base respawn system. However when I get the respawn working ACE3 interact and self interact seem to stop working. I still see the red circle, but i see no white button to interact with. The mission is running on a dedicated server btw. Any help could be greatly appreciated as i suck at scripting and mainly just borrow code (so i'm not sure if i have it in order) - Can anyone help? All I want is a Zeus/MCC/ACE3 compatible template for any landmass with a base respawn system which i can work off. Thanks in advance. Gav Here's my mission template so far.
  3. Anyone using Mudbox to get extra detail on models? I've noticed that the majority of the meshes i try to import are a bit of a disaster, lots of errors etc etc. Anyone know of a decent cleanup tool? Gav

    Arma3 Models and Mudbox

    thanks for the replies folks, I've ended up manually making a new mesh, a cleaner quad based one, working from there. Yet to export to mudbox but should have time over the next week or so. I had deleted the boots and hands, and was going to work without them, I was thinking that maybe i could just use ones from the base models, (not sure if that's allowed) if not i'm model them separately. Hi folks, I'm trying to modify a uniform for my unit, I've made a new diffuse layer, but the p3d file is binerised and i cannot access the model to try make some decent normal & height maps etc etc. Is there any way around this? Xnormal and other nvidia auto-generator programs like this are giving up some strange results, so i'd like to generate my own. Indents are reversed etc etc. It's only a slightly modified coverall/jumpsuit thing, so if anyone has a model of one i would obviously very much appreciate that. I have been working with permission on the Coveralls mod by Scorch, but he doesnt have the original files anymore. I've used other engines in the past by this is my first attempt at using the bohemia software/pipeline so be gentle. Kind regard Gavin

  8. So i'm having trouble with my MP mission and it's weather... I manually set the weather in the editor to about 40% overcast with really heavy fog. It's set to change to light fog in about 2 hours time as the sun comes up. I've this run in the init.sqf skiptime (((Start_time) - daytime + 24) % 24); simulWeatherSync; The mission loads in, dark murky fog as expected, but as the mission finishes initialising it brightens up and the fog levels are now much lower. Can someone please explain where i'm going wrong? I don't really understand why i'm skipping time (just been advised that this is necessary) Do i have to script the weather opposed ot use the editor? hastebin link to init.sqf As you may be able to tell a lot of this code is borrowed from other peoples missions and friends help. I understand what each element does, but maybe not the order it should be used in. Adding the ability to sync up with JIP players would be an advantage but not entirely necessary. Gav

  11. Hi, I've rebound my TFAR keys to my Function keys.... [F1] shortrange transmit, [F2] longrange transmit, SHIFT+[F1] SR config.... etc etc... All behaves as you'd expect until i reach [F5] - [F8] where arma radio/command UI takes over and gets in the way. Does anyway know a way to disable the native arma bindings for the F keys? Gav
  12. +1 for the jester tutorials on youtube. Usually not a fan of video learning, i like to look back over webpages/books but his were pretty good. I've only just completed my first proper mission, start to finish with all the trimmings. Without jesters tutorials on triggers and tasks i'd still be staring at teh editor right now. Gav

    Sidemission Script Package

    is this still a thing? any newer version, or definite working examples. Noob scripter here, dont want to start off with a script with errors in it as i'll have enough trouble understanding it anyway :) I want to add custom side missions into a larger scale ALIVE mission. My plan is to have scenarios built (no random elements) which only spawn when some switch is flipped. I figure i'll start with this and go from there. @Austin_Medic btw, Kudos on the zeus mission thang. G

  21. Hi, I've added in the alive system database module to our patrol ops mission, and now the log file is filling up with this... Can anyone shed some light on it? Also, no matter what i try, i cannot get the war room connection to work. I've placed the alive.cfg in the right folder (and in the root folder just in case), i've the hostname correct (the name of the machine right?) but i cannot figure out what is going on. Is there a known-good mission that i could use to test this, and how long should i have to wait before i see stuff appear at the war room? Due to the way the hosts have set up the server, i've no access to the log files. (not that they have been created yet) Any help would be appreciated, i've been at this for a week or so now.
