Why do you think the Developers do not incorporate mods?
CaptainAzimuth replied to Morrow's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
I think instead of going to our friendly Community devs for things that should be in Vanilla, is not a good idea. Let our devs to what they do their work for. If you want something, try requesting it, but be forewarned, it should be in a category, capable of being Vanilla. Not only that, but it shouldn't be a request, but more of a suggestion, of something that should be there because it fits. If you want an example, you can check my General Conversation thread about the two CAS aircraft. But before you even think about requesting something be added, think about it this way. It's about to be 2014, and they've its finished adding some things to the AAF (Drops tomorrow), the second episode will drop at the end of january, and after that, i'm sure theres even more content to come. After all, i heard they promised 5 years of committed support for A3, including improvements. Speaking of improvements, i wonder if they're gonna implement more simulweather. Back more on topic though, the Competition, though it has ups and downs as we all know, could create division, but create an environment for the strong devs to thrive, it's possible we could see some amazing work come through this challenge, whether its for money or a job possibility, or just for modding sake. Other than that, it's unlikely devs work will be used, due to many reasons already mentioned. -
2 CAS Aircraft remain unknown. What if?
CaptainAzimuth replied to CaptainAzimuth's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
I kinda agree with this, for one, i don't want to see the A-10 due to when it was produced, all the way to now. Also, it's performance would be good, but it just wouldn't fit the era. Though, i have high hopes for what BI is introducing, no word of what it could be yet. I'm hoping it's new, fresh, and sexy... And it not too OP, but does it's job... And i hope there are two seat versions for all. -
BAFSystems - RAF Tornado GR4
CaptainAzimuth replied to tom.tucka's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
*X-35. It's not up to date with current F-35 specs, someone would have to make a completely new model. Besides that, this GR4 Tornado is looking fantastic so far. We can hope it's high quality perfection when it's done. -
Canadian Armed Forces Modification ARMA III

Its... It's so... SO BEAUTIFUL!!!! LOVE IT! =.D....... ---------- Post added at 17:02 ---------- Previous post was at 17:00 ---------- In regards to the 3D scopes, and optics as a whole, just another one thing that needs to be polished well. They look out of line, meaning that either the scope is out of alignment, or the Iron sights are out of alignment. Needs to be fixed. -
Heres my few cents. I'm not a modder, but i know it can be hard to do things like this. Here is kinda my insightful motivation. The "Make Arma Not War" contest was dropped not too long ago, maybe you should see if you can get this fine work of art into that competition. This also gives you a deadline of around... 2014-2015 ish. No rush what so ever, just motivation to create the best product you can, and hell, you can even win cold hard cash for it, even if that's not what your into. I know if i did mods, it would be simply for mods sake. But i suggest not listening to the negative comments, and just doing your thing, because no one likes doing a job they don't enjoy. Cheers.

CaptainAzimuth replied to CaptainAzimuth's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
It would, it it's the version that's being produced today. The one you see used in Arma 2, is basically the X-35 mainframe. Comparison X-35 http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/90/X-35.jpg (590 kB) F-35 -

Will you be re skinning the new Kuma (Leopard C2 Tank) for this pack? It would strike real gold and fit beyond well. -
Will the Hand Signals/gestures ever return?
CaptainAzimuth replied to danil-ch's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Understood, however, can't remember the server, probably one of Sa-matra's or some else. They used the Num pad. It gave no voice commands, and was useful, ounce you got a hang of it, in terms of memory. But on everything else, you are correct. -
Will the Hand Signals/gestures ever return?
CaptainAzimuth replied to danil-ch's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
True, i remember playing on a server where i would stand across the hill, and wave at enemies at their base... Not sure how it was implemented though, im sure it's via. script. Most likely server side. Though, having this feature widely implemented, as Smookie stated, a Feedback ticket. -

This in particular has been long touched on many times. Images used as place holders just to tease, but really used to test the Fixed Wing PhysX Engine back in early Alpha-Pre-Alpha phases. -

Long awaited something like this. I hope to re live the 3 way firefight in Wasteland with this sound mod on. -
^this and this. I mean, the quality in this model is close to breathtaking. Love the way the light reflects off of it perfectly.

CaptainAzimuth replied to CaptainAzimuth's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Well that's awesome guys, even though a bit off topic, but hey, glad to hear you came up with something. Second, it's been confirmed NATO, and CSAT CAS craft are close to being mass produced and used widely in their forces for the Armaverse flashpoint. Though, even better, a competition has been announced, and community devs can make mods for prizes. One possibility includes a full game change. What if someone were to create something along the lines of "Take On Airplanes" with an enhanced flight model? Just a thought. -
Fixed Wing Flight Model (dev branch)
CaptainAzimuth replied to dezkit's topic in ARMA 3 - DEVELOPMENT BRANCH
That's it, im gonna end this right now. The Flight simulator series are horrific. Lock on has a better flight model. But the truth is, getting the best flight model, or rather anything done right for a game, comes from watching and observing the real thing. Take a look at this aircraft manuver. The thrust to weight ratio on take off, and landing. Observe its elegence through a medium roll.- 874 replies

You know, i've looked through a million games, everyone one with it's unique feature, ever since the nintendo Era. One thing every shooter game has in common? Circular and round explosions. This isn't to be stressed or anything, but later down the line, it is. Not only are the effects of some weapons completely downplayed in Arma 3, but the visuals of it as well. For example, i feel Satchel charges do tons more damage than the JDAM, or heavy bombs that the CAS planes uses. It looks a bit skimpy, and weak compared to it's real life counter part... Example's. My thought was not only a little more powerful effect, but how about different particle effects, depending on What SURFACE, the bomb impacts, and dust lingers. That would be interesting. Thoughts?

Particles Of Explosions ALWAYS Round.
CaptainAzimuth replied to CaptainAzimuth's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
He has a great point. This about the TakeON Series. Imagine if BI created TakeON simulators for every aspect of simulation. Fixed wing, Rotary Wing (Take On Helicopters), Robots (Take On Mars), and the new capabilities of the Engine, and mixed all the polished and realistic things into one Arma, and created Arma 4. Could you imagine? Though, i do think the Arma engine needs to be upgraded to something else. Altis is big, but most sims have maps bigger than even the TOH Seattle map. Back on Topic however, i was refering to shape and size and sound of the explosions. When i have a bomb dropped next to me, i want to feel as if i'm in it. This can be implemented using shockwaves, and particle effects, but to an extent that won't make the FPS suffer. I remember a mod that can render large clouds and weather into Arma 2. It was called Weather Module i think. But yeah, manipulating particles shouldn't even be that hard of a task, they did it in A2, and, A3 is naturally more optimised than A2. -
^this. I've experienced this, but the opposite. On Kurba Dam, not Project Reality though, it was a sniper only server. I had noticed a guy running across the bridge, and at that moment, he was too close to do anything accuracy wise. Guess what i did. I hip aimed 65 degrees to the left and up, then jerked the mouse in a random direction, fired... AND GOT THE KILL. Tell me how. That is what we DONT need in Arma.

Arma 3: Community wishes & ideas- DISCUSSION
CaptainAzimuth replied to Maio's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Ok, what i think is going to happen, just a thought, is they are going to add some sort of thing like this. For example, Hunter-GPK, Strider-AA/AT Titan, Medical Hunter, or Medical Panther, and little things like this. Hopefully, this is going to bring of alot of missing little things that will make Arma 3 feel more complete. But again, that's just my thought on possible things BI would do. -
new stuff for aaf - nice bis love it ^^
CaptainAzimuth replied to jgbtl292's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
The KA-60 (P-30 Orca), is not the same. I've done a side by side comparison, almost unnoticeable, but the P-30 is bigger than the Arma 2 PMC KA-60. Though, its completely re worked, the Instruments work as opposed to the Arma 2 mixed paint look all the interior of the helis had. In terms of models, in Arma 3, if they make everything with fresh materials, it looks stunning, anything that is ported, doesn't look like it fits the scene. Personally, i like the BMP-3, its sexy. The BMP-3 is awesome, but it makes no sense having it in AAF. It fits more CSAT forces standards, as its a russian vehicle, and AAF is a NATO asset, that fights CSAT, who are backed by Russia/China. -

Probably a bit off topic with my last comment. Anyway, i love the new stuff for AAF, it's my second favorite faction. Opfor is my first. (hehe) Ok, but look, love the models, the Leopard needs work, but, so do the other two. The Ported models NEVER look as good as ones made for Arma 3 itself. This should be obvious. None the less, still love the new muscle for the AAF. Though, there is one more thing i would like to see ported, overhauled, and included in the FINAL game. .. ... .... You guys Guessed right .... ..... SCUD ..... -
A-143 Buzzard Far too Slow / Weak
CaptainAzimuth replied to UltimateBawb's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
where can i purchase one of those. Anyway, the L-159 though design based off the Albatross, it's a lot lighter, and designed for training, and very light attack/precision missions. I wouldn't expect too too much from it. Though, would have been nice if it had a rocket pods option. -

In personal regards, love the Leopard tank, hehe. Ok, but to the real stuff, Iran has had american technology for quite some time. It's not hard to believe they would reverse engineer things, or even made them better. Case and point, the Saeqeh Fighter. An updated F-5E. They also made their own drones off of US drone baselines. Though, weather any of those work, is questionable to the max. Than again, in the 2035 era, China and Russia could have helped them make all the fantastic new toys they have. Kamysh, MI-48, and T-100. -

CaptainAzimuth replied to CaptainAzimuth's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Very true, especially within reason. It would be excellent if BI could add in the main things needed to create a variety of different scenarios within the sandbox editor itself. -
Almost forgot about this. BI, why is it, that in real life when i sneak into an enemy base and set an explosive of some kind, EVERYONE IN THE WORLD CAN HEAR IT? Ok, enough of the anger, but look. When you do this kind of stuff in real life, your not gonna hear beeping, especially if your sneaking on to enemy territory. I mean, in singleplayer, it is what ever, AI can't hear anything other than footsteps, and basic combat sounds. But the beeping sound HAS to be removed. It's just a no no, unless your a terrorist and your planning on scaring the enemy for maybe 3 seconds before setting it off. Simple enough, the Beeps, MUST go. Thoughts?
