  1. Thank you that was the answer I was looking for. I feel on occasions close quarters combat can get stale as it can be over instantly for certain players this will make people want to push harder or fortify better. This will also lower the chance that a random sniper can ruin your day quite so much. Possibly lower the irritation of starting all over form stupid mistakes. It will also as a side product push the point in creating bases as it would be a secure place to fight from and when downed give cover for reviving. Optional feature is the way to go as its not to every ones taste. That being said I could quite easily see this becoming the norm as it would get rid of a lot of irritation from playing waste land that turns a lot of new players off. Cheers, DarkJesus
  2. Most people will scoff at this question but would you be able to add a revive system in say for example you have 20s to revive some one or they will die and possibly a cool down to how often a person can revive, I think this would make some fire fights last longer and be a little more intense. leave these as configurable options so that server admins that are not fond of the idea don't have to enable it. Cheers, DarkJesus

    Fun with User Textures

OMG!!!! This is so awesome you have come so far in such a short amount of time and your dedication is astounding. Keep up the good work my friend.
  4. Well that's a step in the right direction. What do you need and I will do my best to help. For any one else who owns TOH and wouldn't mind privately posting the .jar file to either me or bullet. I'm very interested in doing my own research.
  5. yes I don't have TOH either but would be great to get hold of the jar for testing. Its not garunted to work but its worth the try.
  6. Hi All, I am wondering if any one has tried following the take on helicopters tutorial and applied it to an arma 3 mission. by getting the required jniscripting.jar from take on helicopter missions and putting it in the correct place in arma 3 mission. Then following the setup info to from take on helicopters on your arma 3 mission? I only asking this because I remember reading some one say that it would not be removed from vanilla arma 3 alpha if it was already there in the code base. So maybe the functionality is there but just not the creating the required files in mission file ie jniscripting.jar . Hope that makes sense. Cheers, Jamie
  7. Like he say these are features that are in most languages ever created. Its true that at first seem unreasonable to beginner programmers but once you are used to it it can become such a life saver. The fact this quirk has gone for so long without being fixed is the whole reason so many developers are crying out for a proper language to script in. This change may even have an impact on performance of your mods as accessing an undefined variable will throw and exception and exceptions are expensive to throw and to handle. (by expensive I mean resource wise.)

Stratis-RP:Ultimate is not dead quite yet...

He has said "FOR NOW". Which in my eyes means it is not a permanent thing. While doing development you only want one or possibly two servers running so you can make sure they are always up to date so people are not reporting old bugs. Secondly if you want an open source version write your own they are putting in the hard work so they get to decide the terms. On another matter Arma 3 is far from open source. People like you with rude and self obsessed comments are the reson why this project has been dropped by the lead developer Zooloo so please if you have nothing constructive to say sit at home on ur own not speak to any 1.

I was wondering how the grouping system works. I imagine there is some type of id that describes the group that players are a member of. is it possible that that group information is not getting cleared properly some times. And maybe a possible solution would be to make the Id more unique for every group by using something like GUID rather then an integer? I may be completely wrong but I'm just thinking out loud.

Welcome to the fray rotekz. Have a nice day at work.
  13. Am I right in thinking this is more of an event driven scripting language? SQF files are not objects they are functions that may or may not return something? Always use the server to store state unless absolutely sure that its not possible? Is there a place to get a list of events that you can add functions to be run from? This is becoming a great resource of information for arma 3 beginners but have previous object orientated experience. God I cant wait for the arma 3 java api.
