  1. Hello everyone, Posting this here is my last attempt in trying to solve a problem that's been hauting me for months... I have more than 1000 hours of Arma 3 and recently I got a new computer so I could enhance my experience, but since then I've had a problem that seems it won't see the light. I have a constant stutter that happens in a pattern every 2 or 5 seconds and isn't linked to bad fps. Changing the graphic settings, the parameters, the config file, etc... does absolutely nothing. This stutter happens even when I have 60+ fps, in both SP and MP. And even in the menu and virtual arsenal where frames per second get above 100. System specs: Intel i7-4720HQ 2.6ghz (3.6ghz Turbo) Nvidia GTX 960m (4GB) 12GB RAM I've tried everything, tweaks, changing graphic settings, editing the parameters, trying different drivers, reinstalling... and so on. And nothing, absolutely nothing makes a difference... No matter what the variable this "ghost" stutter always happens. This problem only happens with Arma 3, other games run like a charm.     So I reinstalled Arma 3, started the game and the problem was gone! BUT after exiting the game and relaunching the problem was still there? This is so strange... Why did the problem only appear after the second time I launched the game!?

    Yes that driver fixes the shadow glitch. But it doesn't fix the stutter :( I'm going nuts with this

  6. Everytime I fly a jet I get a huge frame lag. I mean is this normal, shouldn't the frames actually increase when you fly? Because the further you are from the ground, the less detail is rendered. Does the view distance increase when flying? No. So why does this happen? Could it be the high speed of the jet and my computers incapability to keep up with the constant loading of terrain and objects? Also did anyone notice that the SUV was inspired by the BMW X6? :P

  9. I hope we get additional content after the game gets it's official release on the 12th September. I really hope Bohemia Interactive isn't planning on releasing the stuff that should be released on the official release day as a future PAID DLC. Because unfortunately that's pretty much how the game industry works nowadays :( :(

    Wind turbines and Domes destruction are VERY disappointing... Wind Turbines just fall down vertically and disapear. Same happens with the Domes. I was expecting some Turbine Blades flying off and Tiles from the Domes to fall apart and get holes in them.     Since there is small grass and really tall grass why can't we have medium size grass and wheat fields? Wheat fields are great to conceal troops ready for an ambush. http://www.thewallpapers.org/photo/21922/2-Wheat-Field.jpg Also making the medium grass / wheat pushable would be very immersive. Hospital Building and Apartment buildings should have more enterable rooms. Since Altis is a tropical resort it should also have more beach bungalows and nice hotels with swimming pools
  13. If Arma wants to be known for being a realistic simulator It must stop with the ridiculous hollywood explosions. People seem to take for granted that what they see in movies happens in real life. NO. Vehicles don't explode if you shoot at them, if you crash them or even if you shoot the gas tank. In arma you unload a 200 round magazine on a car and what happens? It magically explodes. Where are the bullet holes? I'm tired of the same destruction effects we get in this series. You shoot a vehicle and boom the vehicle transforms into a low poly model with a lame dark texture and a FIREBALL inside. wat? And why do helicopters keep exploding when they hit the ground or slighty hit a tree and transform into a silly fireball. I thought physics were improved. Explicit Video Removed Also I can't seem to understand why after all this time we still don't have a cooking ammo effect in tanks!? Tanks have a really bad armour simulation. It doesn't even matter which side of the tank you hit. It doesn't even matter if some sides have thicker armour because the ridiculous hitpoint system will make the tank into the classic black model with a fireball inside. Explicit Video Removed And even more shocking... You shoot at the tyres and they disapear. What kind of magic is this? Couldn't the developers come up with a better way to tell you that your wheels are damaged? Is it really hard to make a punctured tyre? Right now when you shoot at a glass it seems that the entire glass gets this wierd ugly texture... come on it's not that hard to make a decent bullet hole decal.
  14. I shouldn't probably even talk about this but here it goes... Since Arma 3 is set in the future why do we still have to use a rangefinder to determine a target's distance. Why can't sniper scopes have an implemented rangefinder that automatically zeros the scope? I KNOW this would make sniping A LOT EASIER.     Of course vehicles end up exploding... but FIRST they catch on fire and may or may not explode. The problem is in arma they instantly explode and the effects are rather disappointing. Like you've said some vehicles should explode violently and turn into nothing, leaving a huge cloud of ashes and shrapnel.

    How is that silly? I understand it's really hard to achieve but I think black models with a fire ball inside are even more silly. Why does my helicopter explode if the blades hit an object or water? Shouldn't the blades just break and the helicopter crash violently? Why do vehicles have to explode if shot with rifles?
  18. Arma 3 Editor clearly needs an upgrade in UI and tools. Real-time 3D should be the main editor by default and tools should be more intuitive. Also I don't understand why the editor doesn't have real-time terrain modifying and texturing tools and why we have to go through several procedures to place AI/Player into the map (Create Center > Group > Unit). This is a waste of time, Units should already have these propreties when placed in the map, like an object database. And the entity propreties should be easily and individualy be modified without having to use scripting. Why can't this be done by simple check boxes (ie: choose faction, equipment, awareness...) Using shift and alt keys to rotate and move the objects isn't very responsive and accurate. A decent axis system should be implemented (Select, Move, Rotate, Scale tools). Also align to terrain and grid tools. A flowgraph editor should also be added because it makes AI and mission setup easier. A person that is new to arma editor should easily use the nodes because it's logical. I do level design for more than 6 years using Cryengine and every time I open Arma editor I feel disgusted. If BI wants to use steam workshop for players to share their maps I think the tools should be intuitive. Placing a simple object ingame just feels painful. Does BI work like this? I'm pretty sure their tools are more advanced. Features needed: Intuitive UI Axis System Entities Database and Propreties Particle Effets Database Material Editor Flowgraph Editor Area Triggers, Proximitry Triggers, Hazard Area (Actual shapeable areas) Render and Environment Modifiers ...     You can't update only what you are seeing, in arma EVERYTHING that is happening on the map is processed by your CPU. Same happens in singleplayer. So it's normal that the FPS drops when there are more players on the server or more scripting used in the server. I don't know if the map can be cut into sections so the CPU only processes a certain area...

    Take a look at the minigun effects with night vision in this video Also this video at 1:00 JDAM Target and Close Air Support Arma needs something like that! Btw RealTimeImmersive is creating this simulator to train the US army :)
  22. First you shouldn't be taking ground fire if you are flying and if you are well... deal with it, you runaway to a safe zone and don't simply eject and waste a chopper/plane. Don't use helicopters to taxi yourself to the battle... :)
  23. Please stop making choppers blow up when they hit the group, this doesn't happen, choppers don't blow up when they crash. It's annoying. It's time to move on from the ridiculous Arma 2 wrecks
