Will-my-pc-run-Arma3? What cpu/gpu to get? What settings? What system specifications?
toscar12 replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
So true I just overclocked my cpu from stock to 4.7 where I have from time to time and it and it made quite a difference haven't tested frames yet but it felt smother and that's good enough for me. But get this..when running one card or two I get the same frames on ultra with 100% sampling but upon changing sampling to 200% one card tanks to about 20 fps but very interestingly changing to 200% sampling with two cards there is no more than a 2 fps drop if that. Why is this? no improvement from one to two cards on normal settings but change to 200% sampling and its unplayable on one but fully playable on two. Is this what they call a cpu bottle neck? Also what affect will Upping my ram speed have? Thanks -
Hi What fps do you get on ultra at 1080p with your 690 in the mission "Armed assault"? I just upgraded to Sli gtx 780 ti and im getting down to 25fps in some parts!? It would be great if they could be in contact with NVidia because im pretty sure im seeing zero scaling at 1080p.

I just upgraded to SLI gtx 780 ti's and get this. Im getting 25fps in some parts make that a lot of parts on ultra at only 1080p it sucks I was sure I could max it out with my new cards but there you go. I love the arma games but why do they take so much to run? so anyone with less than sli 780 ti's don't expect to max it out properly. ---------- Post added at 20:34 ---------- Previous post was at 20:31 ---------- scottybhoy85-- You should try to get yourself at least a gtx 680(or a 770) or else I feel you might be disappointed there pretty cheap at the moment too. Whats your budget? -
seriously I think the devs have something to do with it as well but you might be right. In arma2 the only time there is an improvement with crossfire for me is at the menu other than that not one single extra frame and arma 3 it seems to be the same. So I don't know do you have Crossfire? My specs are 3930k 4.7ghz 16gb corsair dominator gt and a 2tb wd caviar black would any of them become a bottle neck? (just ran the arma2 OA benchmark01 actually got 40 with cf 42 without lol) I have been playing BI titles since the first operation flashpoint when I was a kid they make games like no other Im just really disappointed that there is no cf support part of me blames the devs even if its amds fault because maybe they could have worked with them to get decent crossfire performance.

why is there still no crossfire support?. Didn't Bohemia interactive learn there lesson from arma 2 and arma 2 oa what an absolute load of crap I thought there was no way they wouldn't include crossfire in arma 3 but here we are. I am disappointed for my self having 2 7970s but its not that bad because I can still max it out on one but it would have been great to be able to use 2 it would have flown. Mainly I feel sorry for people with crossfire 7870 or 7770s and lower it must feel like a kick to the head for some. Did it just slip their mind to include it or is there still a chance it will come about?

ArmA2 / OA (low) performance issues
toscar12 replied to R3fl3x's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
hey i am using arma 2 oa with 2 7970s in crossfire and am getting the exact same fps with 1 as i am getting with 2 (i am getting 24fps with my settings) is this something that amd might solve in the future or is there a way to fix this please help -
hi i have been having trouble with my crossfire set up as it shows no improvement over one card in arma 2 oa. So i found a couple of testimonies from people who have used something called -winxp switch? can anybody help by telling me what this is and how i give it a try? ---------- Post added at 03:45 ---------- Previous post was at 01:58 ---------- Well i found out its a launch command but it doesn't seem to make a bit of difference does anyone one else know and fix or workaround for arma 2 oa crossfire performance or scaling
