  1. This. http://www.americanspecialops.com/vehicles/ltatv/ It's a Kawasaki Tyrex 750 or Polaris version, as stated in the link. Using it as a more sustainable version of the ATV, with a mounted gun on it and the capability to carry more supplies would be pretty sick for RECCE, especially on a large terrain like Altis, where you don't have air, and an ATV would work, but an ATV on steroids with a mounted gun would be even better. Oh, and also this...minigun...muhahaha:icon_twisted: Also, wingsuits. Not jet powered ones like mentioned before but actual wing suits that propel you forward 3 feet for every foot you fall. This means you can free fall further distances to keep the insertion aircraft out of the harm of AA guns.

    German Armed Forces Mod

I second this. Really looking forward to seeing more.

    Fire?

The good idea fairy strikes again. Perhaps this is too ambitious for the Arma 3 engine...but has anyone ever considered the possibility of fire? I was just pondering a mission where you need to smoke/burn someone out of a house, or flare/incendiary grenade causing a fire that spreads and cuts off an avenue of approach, or the smoke billowing out in the distance. Imagine if a house was on fire in a small village and smoke goes everywhere, turning an HVT snatch into a flustercuck. The lighting from A3 could make serious fires look awesome. I'm sure your imagination can think of many more instances involving fire, but I thought I'd put this thread up to get everyone's creative juices flowing, and maybe to give the devs an idea.

    Night vision

While the night vision seems too well done, I think a lot of you are forgetting we're talking about the year 2035. Just look how much night vision has advanced since 2000. The reality is that in order for night vision in Arma 3 to reflect what it would be in reality for the year it takes place, there would be night vision and thermal capabilities mixed into one, or something much more advanced, like the following link shows. http://kitup.military.com/2011/06/hi-tech-night-vision-on-bin-laden-raid.html Perhaps if you had some sort of rebel force that was low tech for the time running around, then yeah, you'd have realistic night vision for what it is like today...but requesting for it to be equal to what it is now days is just plain ignorant.

    Game recorder thoughts?

I envisioned the feature being used moreso for things like videos. For instance, let's say I play a really good game with my community, and didn't record it. I could go back, watch the replay, run around with a camera or choose different spectator modes, and record the battle and post it up on Youtube later that way. Or, I could place the camera next to another player as he shoots his M240 at a squad and pins them down, then pan the camera over and watch as all of those bullets impact. I'm sure you can tell now what I'm getting at here. Since you recorded it yourself, and thus are replaying it yourself, then you of course have the mods, and there ya go.

    Game recorder thoughts?

Being able to record what happened in the battle and replay them like a Counterstrike match and etc would be just plain awesome, for so many reasons. I can really see people making some amazing machinima with this, utilizing real game play footage.
  7. Yes!!!!! I wanna sneak around in swamps and dense jungles ;D Not just diving, but swimming in general. Swimming on Arma 2 is just atrocious.
  8. Aimpoint Micro T1 Leupold 1x4 Eclan Specture with the nickel boron/bronze-brown finish. Trijicon RMR for handguns. Nobody ever puts the Micro T1 in a game, and IRL it's freaking awesome. Also, this isn't a scope, but I'd really...really like to see customizable iron sights, such as tritium night sights, or different sight styles like the HK style front sight post, or XS Big Dot sights.

    OPFOR too Futuristic?

Yes, something like the G11 was rejected, but that doesn't mean that a prototype like that in the future would be rejected. You need to remember, the ideas revolve around the Armaverse. They really aren't that futuristic. It just may seem that way. The helmet has a built in HUD where on the other hand, the Blufor have glasses for that, and they appear to have a neck brace or armor to protect from shrapnel. The Iranian armor portrayed IG is no different than if you compared uniforms during the Civil War to modern military uniforms and equipment today. Yeah, soldiers wearing load bearing vests and fatigues like Crye provides looks super futuristic in comparison to the simple cotton uniforms and belts with ammo pouches during the Civil War, but just because it appears futuristic, doesn't mean it is. The reality in this analogy is that the two things are very similar, with the only main difference being a change in more modern, flame retardant and moisture wicking materials.
  10. Oh well, I guess you can't convince someone of something rational if they're irrational. I'm just glad I don't play Arma with you, no offense, of course. I'll just agree to disagree.

FIX the SDAR UW SMG, Does not do damage

Yes, but then when you slap a 5.56 magazine into it, like I said, it just looks silly then, hence why I mentioned it would be neat if they could simply change the model slightly to reflect that.

    Map limits for A3?

Having very large maps would be wonderful for MSO events, where a community does the equivalent of invading a country in a series of missions that save in a persistent world. That, and as someone else said before, air and naval operations. Plus, bigger is always better so long as it's feasible.

    Soldiers appearance. Important!

A long time ago I read an article about how when the US was in Iraq doing city, close quarters combat, having the ability to sprint across a street with your 50+ pounds of gear was more important than endurance, and thus, strength training for bursts of energy became important, while still keeping in mind endurance. A good balance is always key, but your missions dictate what is more important of course. A good example of this would probably be Navy Seals or the Special Boat Service. They require muscle mass to have bursts of energy and carry heavy loads, but at the same time, they need endurance and can't weigh too much otherwise it's impractical to swim and do tasks of that nature.

    Soldiers appearance. Important!

While there are many soldiers who look like this, many still look like this. The military is filled with people of all shapes and sizes. I think it would be awesome to choose your own shape, body type, height, and etc in Arma 3. A game that did a good job of this was APB (All Points Bulletin). You could choose different heights and etc but the hit boxes were hardly affected at all and not even noticeable even though you could be 6'6 or 5'6.

    Wristwatch

Of course it's more common among civilians. There are way less people in the military than there are outside of the military, but that doesn't mean that the G-Shock isn't really common. Which it is.

    Map limits for A3?

Pretty damn big. This is a time lapse of the Afghan man put on Armaholic not too long ago.
  17. Looking great. If you need any help, I'm a giant gear buff, so if you need any specifics on manufacturers, camo patterns, gear types and etc, lemme know. I'll probably end up sending you a PM of suggestions anyway because you seem to know what you're doing. Keep it up!
  18. The sounds in my opinion are way too loud but this is looking awesome! Great job so far.

FIX the SDAR UW SMG, Does not do damage

It would be nice considering the gun is modeled exactly after the Kel Tec RFB, if they would change the ammo it shoots to .308/7.62 which the magazine size portrays, or at least change the model of the magazine in the back to represent the size of the round it shoots.

    PVP heaven..for now

Wow, you just reminded me of that Charlie Foxtrot server. I had SO MUCH fun in it. I would love to see PvP stay around for sure.
  21. As far as I'm aware, it can be scripted so that you can go full on jihad with a vehicle, I've done it many times in A2 before. Also, in the official showcase videos they showed attaching a satchel to a vehicle. I haven't tried it, but I'm assuming it's more than possible.

6.5 mm and recoil management in game

Full auto actually is predictable. It's not the same as quick semi-automatic fire, but the weapon can only recoil so much, and the action of the rifle is the same every time, so assuming your cores hooting principles are sound, and you employ recoil management techniques, it absolutely can be predictable. Bare in mind predictable and effective at long range are completely different things.

    Take Downs.

I'm a very special member of the SF. Making me double special. Joking aside, check out this link. http://library.enlisted.info/field-manuals/series-2/FM21_150/CH7.PDF I've seen other military manuals before that specifically mention the thrusting forward motion because you're able to conjure up more power from a forward thrust, plus it's safer to cut away from yourself rather than towards yourself. A little googling and you might be able to find the manual I'm talking about. I'm too lazy right now to find it though. I disagree a bit. While of course it should be up to the mission maker if the feature is even in the mission, in the many years I have been playing ArmA 1, 2, and now 3, I have found myself in several situations where I was hunting a sniper, or found myself by mistake behind an enemy player. I don't think it would be hard for a regular infantry guy to be able to plunge a knife into the throat of someone from behind, or to drop down into the back of a sniper, knees spread, pinning them down whilst strangling them to death. As far as I'm aware, and feel free to correct me if I am, but I don't think SOF even train much in melee combat, making them all ~that~ much more effective at sentry removal than your typical soldier with the some good ol' know how and the tools such as a knife or garrote. Clearly it should be emphasized that this could very easily turn into a gimmicky or hollywood feature, but it does happen in real life I suppose.
  24. So remove an entire feature on multi player just because you find it unrealistic? Why not remove the ability to see where you are on the map, or remove cross hairs. I mean, because you find it unrealistic, let's remove it for everyone. Your argument is ridiculous. You mentioned in a previous post that it's near impossible to find a server with 3rd person removed. I'm not entirely sure what you're doing, but you are definitely doing something wrong. There are plenty of servers and communities who cater to first person only game modes and missions. P.S. This same general response goes to the OP. Don't play servers with it. It's really that simple.
