  1. Interesting logs

    The AH-99 chopper is the fastest as expected since it is an attack helicopter. Following is the Merlin chopper.

     

    Now it is worth noting that these speeds can be reached but they are hard to control. When you reach 280 km/h the chopper is harder to control. Move the nose too much and you will face a huge altitude/speed difference if not a temporary loss of control. That is why you need to lower the throttle greatly when trying to stop and even then it takes some time. In vanilla Arma 3 maps these speeds are not needed as much since the time you need to reach them and the one to stop is too long. With the AH-99 you can use them since the chopper is a lot more flexible than the Merlin but rarely are these speeds needed. Besides flying low that fast will make the gunner start spinning  :whistle:   


  2. I believe there is a feature that would make alliances really worth getting into. The feature can be as follows:

     

    In the allaince building you should be able to request troops and not just supports! Troops that you will be able to use afterwards in order to attack a base or defend your base. Defense troops will be automatically deployed when somebody attacks your base. They will start scanning and attacking hostile troops. That way alliance members will be able to help each other directly and effectively!

     

    Additionally, when an alliance member provides such troops he will get alliance points that he will be able to use to buy boosters such as 10% more resource production or shields and things like that.

     

    Any chance for such a thing to be doable?

    One thing that is unique about this game is that your activity can be like 1 minute each day without losing anything. It does not tire you or anything. It is kinda relaxing. Hopefully it will stay that way :thumbs-up:


  3. Anybody interested in making a single mod that will add all Take On Helicopters assets in Arma 3 ?

    By all I mean vehicles, skins and units not maps and such. The maps are not really good but the rest are of high quality already so a merge would be really nice. And these assets were Arma 2 compatible!!

    Oh and if possible the helicopter winch feature which is ToH exclusive.

    Please ?

    SAR missions will be more feasible will these scripts appear :thumbs-up:


  5. Please make this script seperated into smaller ones. I mean one script for each intented function. That way we will be able to implement the functions we need only :rthumb:

     

    And can there be a drag script too? A simple mp script that will alow you to drag injured or dead units without implementing other revive functions that are not wanted. I do not believe one such script exists. In order to be able to drag you need to implement whole revive scripts.

    P.S. A helicopter winch script would be epic along with a scripted fix for the non movable helicopter searchlight but I do not think you got any such plans, right?


  6. The problem with mods is that mission dependencies are created and not many people will download 2 or 3 mods in order to play 1 mission :)

    A mod for static ships, a mod for helicopters and a mod for units? They'll just bypass the mission.

     

    But if TOH assets were introduced in vanilla A3 there would be more possibilities for editors. Especially if the helicopter winch system was revived!!! 

     

    And I do not think that a lot of work is needed for BI to polish up TOH assets. With a little bit of work there will be a lot of extra content for free. Free content that BI really needs since many players now refuse to give more money for even more DLCs when many bugs, such as the helicopter searchlight issue, are ignored.

     

    Too bad BI developers do not respond directly to forum threads. That way we would now what is going on :\


  7. So BI is there a chance for you guys to update Arma 3 with all Take On Helicopters vehicles, skins and other game assets?

     

    It would be really nice to have a few extra vehicles (cars, helicopters, boats), clothing and units ingame.

    The maps and such are not needed since they are not Arma 3 quality but the other assets are at about the same quality so why not provide Arma 3 players with a few more free assets?

     

    And if possible, you can add TOH ingame features such as helicopter winching and vanilla fastroping.

     

    Any chance for that to happen???

     

     


  8. Surely this is an amazing mod!

    The thing is that I would really like to ask something. Isn't it possible to attach Arma 3 objects on a naval unit?

    These objects, if placed correctly so as not to be seen, can be the ones where the players actually walk on or where the helicopter lands on. That way there will be no sinking in the naval units decks and the decks will be walkable.

    An example, you can take an Arma 3 vehicle and use the attachto command to attach a cement block on the top of the vehicle. Then you can place players on top and start driving. Naturally it will be a hillarious view but won't the units remain on the top of the vehicle no matter where the vehicle goes?

     

    This suggestion could be a goof since I have no addon knowledge, I primarily am into mission editing, but sometimes goofs end up being profitable :smile_o:

     

    Edit: After making some tests my "solution" only makes the surface walkable when the vehicle is not moving.

    One of our hight tech spy planes has been shot down! Two crew members have however survived! For now..

     

    1.] Hypothesis: One of our spy planes has been shot down while spying enemy bases in hostile held Stratis! Now the plane has been shot down but info suggests that there are two survivors who need to be saved. Two survivors standing next to a spy plane that was equipped with a high tech radar and terminal system! A system that falling into enemy hands would turn it into a weapon against us since the enemy will be able to greatly enhance their radar AA systems by discovering our own systems' secrets! If this happens our airforce will become nearly useless and the war might be lost! So, in order to avoid this, the two survivors will need to work together with a four man Special Ops team called Hawks in order to find and destroy the spy system and afterwards escape the island.

     

    2.] Important details:

     

    a)To play in SP you should be the LEADER of the SURVIVORS SQUAD. In SP you will not have Special Ops team Hawks assisting you .

    b)This mission has medium replayability. There are multiple ways to complete the mission and you can choose different mission paths.

    c)If you do not manage to find the spy system the mission will not end. You will be able to continue the mission and face your decisions' consequences afterwards.

    d) You should NOT DISABLE AI units that are in your SQUAD. Those units should exist for your convenience. In SP disabling the Special Ops team is advised.

    e)If you do not have the ASR AI 3 mod, it would be great to install it. It really enhances gameplay and takes Arma 3 to a whole new level.

  10. First off this thread should be in the editing forums. Help would arrive a lot more rapidly had it been there  :f:

     

    Now, does the mission react like that when you try to play it in sp too?

    Does it react the same when you try to host the sqf of the mission?

    How do you call the briefing in your mission?

    Is there a trigger mission failed condition left unattented?

    Is a player and a playable unit present in your mission?

    Someone should at least tell us why after so many months the issue persists. I mean BI has made whole DLCs since the issue started. How much time do they need to fix this one issue?

    A four man BLUEFOR team has been arrested and is held on an entirely OPFOR controlled island! Will you be the ones to save them?

     

    1.] Hypothesis: At Altis, a place occupied entirely by OPFOR forces, four of our soldiers were arrested by OPFOR troops while trying to sabotage some of the enemies' communication towers a few days back. Since their arrest we have decided to negotiate for their immediate release. Negotiate until we can send a Special Forces and a Sniper Team to rescue the prisoners at least. So, we offered Jindah, a high ranked OPFOR officer, 50.000$ so as for him to release the prisoners. He seemed to accept the offer if we paid him 25.000$ before the prisoners' release and 25.000$ afterwards. We said yes and we agreed to transfer the money in 2 days. So, today 24  hours prior to the supposedly money trasnfer a SFT, you, is ready to infiltrate the island and rescue the hostages. Just remember that being detected will have deadly consequences so use stealth tactics and hide dead bodies. And keep in mind that some trasnports with supplies have been hidden nearby the operation area so as to assist you.

     

    2.] Important details:

     

    a)To play in SP you should be the LEADER of the ASSAULT SQUAD. In SP you will not have a sniper team assisting you.

    b)This mission has low replayability. Once and if you manage to complete the mission successfully you might never play it again.

    c)If you are detected the mission will not end. Due to Arma's wierd stealth environment we have decided to let you guys continue the mission. With consequences but you will be able to continue.

    d)You should NOT DISABLE AI units that are in your SQUAD. Those units should exist for your convenience. In SP disabling the Sniper team is advised.

    e)If you do not have the ASR AI 3 mod, it would be great to install it. It really enhances gameplay and takes Arma 3 to a whole new level.
