    Well that is a really strange problem I tried to google your problem for you but with no success Are you using any editor mods? If you make another mission is the problem still there?

    I will try that. Although at high speeds the rudder is not a good idea About flying in a low altitude. I tried it. But flying at 4 meters above the ground didnt work. The AA hit me in a matter of seconds. And the chopper crashed on its left side and exploded. About flying fast. If I fly fast the gunner cannot take out enemies. Well I will keep on trying but I still believe that the AI has super powers :unsure:
  3. My issue is related to the effectiveness of AA fire against helicopters. As it seems whenever there is like 1 AA opfor specialist, you are already doomed. Even if the specific AI has 0 skill! If I hear the warning sound while piloting I try to maneuver and I drop all of my flares but still the AA missile hits my helicopter. No matter if I am kilometers away or if my altitude is 700 meters and above. And thats not all! After I am hit I try to autorotate but the super AA specialist fires again and again until the chopper blows up midair! That is if I can actually rotate because many times once I am hit the helicopter immediately gets a 90 degrees angle and is uncontrollable. So, I cant say I am new at flying helicopters since I have quite a few years of experience in Take on Helicopters and Arma 3 and I am aware of some tricks against AA fire but my knowledge is mainly about countering assault weapon fire and such. Like using the bottom side of the chopper so as to keep the pilots and passengers safe and such. Well I am not an expert but this is insane. I cant keep on being crushed by AA missiles so easily! So, am I doing something wrong or is it just an Arma 3 issue?

In order to make things official a VIP has to sign the appropriate papers. You are to escort this VIP to his speech location so as for him to sign the independence documents. More information is located at the mission briefing. 2.] Important details: a)The VIP will reach the speech location by himself. He will arrive at the airport via helicopter and he will be driving a car afterwards. Sometimes his driving might be kinda crazy but thats on the Arma 3 AI driving system. b)This mission has low replayability so please act accordingly c)The mission can be played in sp and in mp but mp should be prefered. Its a mission for up to 6 players. 4 are for the ground team and 2 are for the air team. The helicopter is to be used only if you want the mission to be a lot easier. You should keep that in mind. d)If the ViP's car is damaged you should have an engineer in order for him to fix it. Once the car is fixed the VIP will return to his vehicle and the mission will continue normally. 3.]Requirements: 3.1]Players' skills: Simple combat abilities and in case you guys use the chopper you will need a good pilot. 3.2]Technical: Arma 3 and CBA 4.]Bugs: None left.     AA Fire and Helicopters

    Oh, when I fire AA missiles at the enemy they dodge them way too easily. Once, I was the pilot and a friend was the gunner in a helicopter. He fired 4 AA missiles at a P30 Orca helicopter and the opfor chopper dodged all missiles very easily. It just doenst go like that when the helicopter that is being attacked is the player. And I have also placed an AA specialist with skill 0 in the editor and I also placed bluefor choppers, of all kinds, flying above him. 90% of the bluefor choppers were shot down by the first AA missile!
  6. Thanks for the suggestion Well, hope something like this happens sometime I dont think so but ok. I believe the startup procedure would be nice as an optional feature included in the helicopter dlc. Nobody would be "harmed" in such a case I wouldnt know because I only play with the AFM
  7. What i, and many other players, would really like to see is: Pushable Helicopter buttons. When you are in the cockpit of a helicopter it is really dissapointing that no buttons can be pressed. A start up procedure for helicopters. You have already got startup procedures in Take on Helicopters. Why not have then in the Arma 3 helicopter DLC too? You have advanced flight models but no startup procedures? :confused: Working helicopter ramps. Why cant we just get in the helicopter via the ramp? It would be very awesome if we could embark and disembark via the ramp. I would really like to hover in front of a cliff so as for the assault team to disembark on the cliff via the ramp. Or in a tall building or something. The possibility to load vehicles on helicopters. You can slingload them yes but why not be able to place an assault boat in a helicopter so as for the players to eject while they are in the boat and start moving around with the boat immediately. Fast rope from helicopters. Why do we have to download mods for that? Modders can do it. Cant you? :) The ability to equip all choppers with a search light. How can we do SAR missions without a searchlight? The ability to open the helicopter doors and remove some of their turrets. The ability to use wipers on helicopters. Thats it for now. I hope we will see these improvements implemented ingame
  8. Ok guys, I will admit that the wipers aint ESSENTIAL but when you fly in heavy rain situations you cant really see anything so that might have helped. And I dont think I am an expert pilot man. I am just trying to make this game better. And pushable buttons ALREADY exist in TOH so it aint hard to implement them. There is nothing realistic when you start up the helicopter in a few seconds by using one key.
  9. You must have no idea on how to pilot a helicopter ingame... If you aren't playing Arma 3 as a pilot you cannot know what is essential and what isnt.

  11. Yep, I agree. It doesnt take time simply bacause they got this feaure already in Take on Helicopters and to be honest the Arma 3 helicopter modules look almost exactly like the TOH helicopter modules :d: So true... Helicopters are destroyed way too easily. I autorotated to the ground once and all was well but then .... a small rock appeared and BOOM! The chopper blew up. That also happens with walls and many more. Additionally, I shall add that the effectiveness of opfor AA is insane. Once those guys lock your chopper you will be hit. 90% chance! Although they dont need to shoot you with a launcher. Some mashine gun fire is more than enough. If this was realistic, nobody would equip their armies with helicopters plainly because they are brought down way too easily. I checked that thread. It is inactive for years sadly. I have also placed a request in the mod request subforums a while ago but no luck there either If only a dev would post some kind of reply and explain to us if this feature is doable <_<
  12. It would be amazing. In Take on Helicopters we had made a mission where the players had to find a small opfor camp that had hostages in a big forest. We were 3 guys playing. The pilot was flying. The copilot was searching with the search light and the commander was using his thermal camera. We had played that mission so many times because the opfor camp location changed. After we located them, the commander and copilot fastroped and rescued the hostages. After that. the ground team moved the hostages to a safe place, where the helicopter could actually land. It was great fun :) I see your point but the Helicopter DLC isnt exactly free! Since there is a helicopter pack there should be more content in it But other games have such things I believe. Games such as Battlefield if I remember correctly where you walk for a bit till you parachute from the plane. Is it that hard? I mean, cant you just make the players always be in the same altitude as the helicopter?
  13. Oh, I got that one. I have played the campaign of Take on Helicopters twice. I have played many hours of multiplayer too. It is an awesome game and I really cant stop wondering why devs didn't implement all of its features in Arma 3.
  14. I would like to make the AI fire at a BLUEFOR helicopter. My problem is that the enemy AA specialists are too good and they manage to bring down the BLUEFOR chopper almost every time. That is really irritating when a mission is big and the players lose while returning to base because their chopper was brought down by a a super AA enemy. I believe that this occurrs because the enemy AI has got AA launchers that can lock on the helicopter. As a result I would like the AI to fire by using the rpg launcher. The rpg launcher has no lock feature so the players will most likely manage to escape while they see RPG rounds flying near their helicopter. ( Hollywood style and quite impressive) So far I havent managed to make the AI fire with the RPG because they fire with their primary assault weapon instead. So, any ideas guys?

    Helicopter Equipment

    For some reason my first attempts didn't work with these scripts but I'll try again. And in order to open the doors and place a searchlight in the helicopter of a police mod I am using I will need another script. I am working on a police chase and I need someone on the side to be able to shoot the fleeing vehicle and a copilot to be able to "pin" him with the searchlight. :confused:
  17. In my mission I would like to have an unarmored Hellcat helicopter from which the passengers will be able to shoot from the sides of the chopper. For some reason the passengers can shoot from the sides of the armored helicopter but not from the unarmored one. So, is there something I can insert in the initialization of the chopper so as to open its doors so as for the passengers to be able to shoot? And are there any similar commands so as to add a Searchlight in the M900 helicopter? Also, where are the helipads located in the editing? I can't find them and so I can't place any on the map..

    So will anybody make startup procedures for helicopters??? Take on Helicopters has them already so a port could be just fine. At least make them for PO-30 chopper. Please :bounce3:

    It seems like a nice mod but does it have the advanced helicopter flying model from the Arma 3 Helicopter Dlc? It says "Simulation usage 'helicopterX'". Is that it? And yes, something like that. Startup procedures are already made for all TOH helicopters. BI has implemented flight models why not the startup procedures??? The best thing you can do for helicopters is to find an experienced pilot to fly them.

    ARMA 3 Addon Request Thread

    I would like to know if there is a mod that allows you to enter/exit helicopters with a ramp without having to press the ''Sit in Back''/''Eject'' action button. It would be really cool if players were able to leave their seats and then manually disembark from a helicopter via exiting via the ramp. Like a chopper hovering a meter above the sea so as for divers to be inserted. Also i would like to know if there is a mod that enables a startup procedure to helicopters, like in Take on Helicopters. Simply pressing the ''engine on'' button is a bit odd... In TOH we had to push some buttons so as to start up the helicopter correctly. It would be really nice if that happened to Arma 3 too.
  21. In the multiplayer mission I am now working on I have a serious Ai issue. Here is the situation: The players are tasked to go and protect a base from enemy attack waves. Once they arrive at the base 4 bluefor members are grouped to the players with a player as the leader. And so the attack begins. [Keep in mind that the enemy units exist from the start of the mission but are triggered to move once the players arrive at the particular base] [The enemy units are armored vehicles, tanks, helicopters, infantry] In the attack everything works great and the Ai is shooting at the players and at the Ai bluefor units. But in the fight the Ai bluefor units are killed and only the players with the instant respawn remain. And here is my problem: Once all of the bluefor members are killed the enemy Ai no longer attack the players. You can literally come face to face with the enemy Ai and shoot them and still they will not respond. So what is going on??? Things I have tried: a) Thinking it was a respawn issue I grouped the players with a bluefor member that was far from the site and therefore could not be killed. Nothing Changed b) Making an Ai bluefor member of the group become invincible so as for him not to be able to die. The Ai stopped thinking that the players were a threat and they all started to shoot the invincible player, after they killed the other bluefor Ai. c) Making an Ai bluefor member of the group unable to move, by making him injured form the start. The Ai would constantly look for him and still pay no attention to the players. Now i have also thought about giving orders to the enemy Ai to attack the players specifically but I don't know how to exactly do that. So guys your help will be appreciated. Hope this is solved because this mission really needs this issue to be fixed.

    Take On Patches

    If you downloaded the game you can just download it again, because a file could be corrupted or something. You can also install all the patches and then start the game. I am talking about the patches mentioned above. And does the game just crash? Doesn't it report anything?

    Hinds at Chernarus....

    We have a new mission that is being developed and that will hopefully soon be uploaded. All I am going to say is that it is a military multiplayer mission.

    MP: Hinds request "Patrol"

    To learn how to make missions you can just see the videos on you-tube about Arma 2 editing. The editing techniques are the same. In addition you can download custom missions and see their triggers and scripts in order for you to learn even more things about editing in TOH. And if you have questions it is best to ask for help in the arma 2 editing forums. Since the editing is the same they will help you out greatly, as they have helped me. And just to point out that editing in TOH does indeed take a lot of time.
