  1. Hey gang, So I'm using a GameLogic in my training centre that when the targets are shot, they remain down - fantastic! And they are able to be reset via 0, 0, 1 on the radio menu but this isn't how I want to do it. I'd like to be able to put these radio protocols onto the laptop and simply scroll click 'Reset'. So, my question is, how can I reset these targets via the laptop? Cheers!
  2. I tried using this disableAi "TARGET"; this disableAi "AUTOTARGET" In the unit's init, but it still continues to initialize the combat? EDIT: Actually, nevermind. They don't engage me now with the above line. All is good! I'm not too bothered about them shooting back. :)
  3. So I have a killhouse that I have multiple hostiles and hostages garrisoned within. The problem I'm currently facing is, when I reach the door to enter the building as part of CQB training, the AI spot me through an open window... Is it possible to turn the AI off until they enter the trigger area? Or is there a better method? Cheers!

  6. Short and sweet: everything is set up just how I want it, except, when my squad disembarks from the helicopter and it flies away, the music can still be heard. Any idea? The original intention is to have the squad disembark, the music can still be heard slightly but as it flies into the air, the music fades to nothing. Any idea? :(

  9. As a gamer I want to do some gameplay and reviews for games! Carrier Command: Gaea Mission is a prime example of a game I want to review and get some footage of gameplay. I will upload them to YouTube too! Is there anything anybody wants me to mention? I'll try and cover the agenda of CCGM like any other reviewer would but I would like peoples opinions to place in the video as annotations. ;) Thanks guys, - Joe.

Seems a little early on due to the game only releasing last Friday but I think maybe getting some names written down for a small team of modders wont hurt right? :p As eager as I am, I have no idea how to modify games. Although I am very, very interested in learning as I heard from one of the Bohemia Interactive staff say that anyone that is actually interested about being hired by a company, is to try and do a mod for a game: Now you would not believe how much I want to be a games designer for a company - so this sent alarm bells ringing. I would like to gather a team together that knows how to create modifications for games. When the time is right and the modding device is released, (or whatever you wish to call it :D), then we can get to work on creating mods. Also, if it isn't a problem with an expert at modding, to teach me on how modding works and how to do it. We could start with something small like an idea I have which doesn't seem too complex: It's a weapon that is used by the Manta. You drop the payload within a certain range of the enemy and small spider drones of a quantity of around three or four disperse into different directions. They crawl into a Walrus and detonate, either EMP'ing the vehicle or destroying it depending on health capacity. It's quite a simple idea for a weapon so it shouldn't be difficult to make. So I know I'm a noob at modding stuff but I'm eager to learn so if anyone is interested in being apart of a team, write your names in a reply below. Also, if no one can actually teach me or generally can't be bothered, (I don't blame you ;)), then I can design mod ideas and a website. I can do things like forums and websites :). Peace! - Joe.
  11. So this may seem a stupid idea but I just have to put it out there... This game is both Real-Time Strategy and a First Person Shooter; no doubt about it. So what if we could bring in a new form of gamemode? (I may be thinking too far ahead here but may aswell get it noted). Here is the idea in a nutshell: The Carrier is your Command Centre on the harsh sea, here you have command over everything. What if we was able to construct buildings? Now what I mean by this is if that we could man a Walrus or a Manta, (by this point we could bring in something called a 'Constructor' which builds everything), you select a structure from the reticle menu and have it dropped in from the command structure in space since it seems to make not a very big appearence throughout the game; from there, drones construct the building. Let's take a look at Battlezone II: Combat Commander: What you are seeing here is called a 'Recycler', (the big mobile orange thing...), it is a command structure which allows you to build basic units which can build advanced structures. The Carrier will act as the Recycler. So let's make a small scenario: You find an island with no inhabitants, no structures, it's just an island but it's massive. Here you can build a command island. Your Carrier launches a Walrus/Manta which drops off a drone which allows you to create the HQ - the drone returns to the carrier and boards the Walrus/Manta that jettisoned it. Your HQ is established! Materials which are gathered from your mining facilities are used to create your base of operations. From your HQ, you can launch the constructor which could be a drone, an advanced Walrus, whatever the idea may be! Then you let your mind run free by creating a perimeter, soldiers, barracks, airfields; instead of just a garage which automatically releases a Manta/Walrus. This isn't the idea to my advanced RTS idea either... I have lots more stacked up. I understand it's a stupid idea but I thought other people want want to hear it instead of talking to myself and saying: "Ah, yes! That sounds awesome!" in real life.   12. Depends on what C&C tbh. Like C&C 3, it's easy to defend with GDI :3. C&C 4 is also a good example.
  13. All the time in Real-Time Strategy games I see noobs just rushing the map, in hope they find the enemy and hit them while they are weak and not prepared. On the other hand, some offensive strategies work really well, (I don't really know any since I am more defence than offense). Tell me gamers. What are you? Frontal assault all the way? Or build up those turrets and shields? Offensive: • Quick, agile yet adequate in strength. • Production queue's first. Exp: Make whatever units are available to them. • Don't wait around to make defence. They just move in once they have the firepower. • Gatherer's of units and armaments. • Rushers. :mad: Defensive: • Take their time. • Build the best type of defence. • Like to make a pretty looking base. :D • Perfectionists - Everything just has to be of equal length, width, etc. • Are the support class of any army. I'm defensive. I hate rushers! What are you? :3
  14. So I best try both then. I'll try working C++ at around 70% and Java 30% to try and balance it out.

  16. Cheers Dram! Will mean a lot. In the meantime, I've currently stopped playing CC:GM to try and work on modding. Going to try and work with JMonkey Game Engine to get a feel to using Java and sorts.

  23. I know what a Codec is... It was just a theory I had in mind that IF you do run something such as FRAPS, the codec embedded somewhere in the game binds with FRAPS. You never know, BIS is full of surprises. But I don't know. T'was just a theory :).

  25. No problem buddy :3. Well yeah, I got no clue then matey. I just thought because you both have 3D GC's that it must be that but obviously jumping to conclusions wasn't the answer ^_^!
