    Help Opening Console

Thanks, even before reading about the debug console enabler mod recommendation, i found some kind of an Arma 3 cheat menu mod, which enables the console as well. So i'm already having a lot more fun. But still, thank you, that's gonna be handy as well.

    Help Opening Console

I just returned to Arma3 and i play through some interesting singleplayer content. Right now i'm obsessed with WLA, but i'm somewhat annoyed by the tedious and slow prestige income. So i tried to help myself via cheat engine (no luck finding the address, prolly battleeye thing). Then i found out, there's a way to add prestige points via a simple console command. And then i hit another wall. I just can't seem to find out how to open the damn console. Shift + nupad minus does nothing. Esc menu doesn't show the console window either. And what's odd is that the enableDebugConsole IS set to 1 in the description.ext. Just to be sure, i checked the alternate description files just out of suspicion that the mod might be shuffling them somehow - THEY ALL got the console enabled. Soo... what gives? Is there like a launcher or ingame options place where i need to enable the console as well? Because the mod definitely does have it enabled. I just can't seem to get to the console... Fcken hell, why can't i just hit a button, input the command and be done with it... I don't mind the mod's challenge, i am enjoying freeing the Altis villages one by one, WLA is a great mod, i just wish that the prestige income was a stream instead of a trickle. Soo, any tips? I unpacked WLA, checked the description.ext, and there it was. "enableDebugConsole = 1;" Soo, WHERE IS THE DAMN THING?
  3. i'm seriously p.od !!! - i did not get the marshes upgrade on terminus - its definitely a bug, FCUK the campaign really... Up to now, i had almost superhuman patience, but now i WONT start again because of lazy programming... There was bug after bug - that game IS UNPLAYABLE... I so much wanted to like it, but the campaign ruined it for me... B.I., you screwed big time... The game is nice enough - adequate graphics, very nice weather effects, good game concept - i loved the original. But this is a mess. I seriously don't get, why in the hell they bothered with sucky FPS parts instead of de-bugging the thing.. I so want to play this, but i can't. I'm uninstalling the wastedump and won't get angry anymore. I'll give it a go after some patches again, but until then - i don't want to even hear about it. Seriously - how can you SELL the product in this godawful state ?
  4. i'm off to start another thread on another crash...
  5. I have a problem after arriving on the middle "icy" island in campaign... Only the Isolus, Vatland and Fulcrum island are under enemy control.. I'm arriving from Lingard to Vatland. After switching from time warp, dialogue from Aurora starts.. She says something about "distinguished officer" and then cuts transmission. After that, another line of text starts, but DURING that, the game starts loading something and ALWAYS crashes exactly at that same point... Any suggestions ? I tried restarting, running ONLY the game and nothing else - so far nothing helped.
  6. thanks for the tips, but i solved the thing differently in the end.. Because i was out of ideas, i just tried to change something right before the crash, and for some reason, when i moved the carrier away from the spot where the crash occured during the problematic dialogue, nothing hapenned... So finally i'm on fulcrum (where it crashes after trying to land on carrier after nuking the shield with hammerhead - for a change) I'm so mad at BI, but on the other hand i pretty much get, that the greek situation worries the staff sick, so CCGM launch was kinda sidetracked...
  7. I LOVE HOSTILE WATERS - in my posts since launch i already said there would be a good thing to consider adding a few HW features...
  8. Hello, i would like to 'stockpile' ideas, things players like to have in game, what to fix and so on... I was so happy that someone is finally doing a remake, because i loved original and even Hostile Waters (which is based on the original) - but so far i'm very disappointed. Artificial imbecility, pathfinding is like there's a drunk guy with remote behind the whole thing, impossible to see what other units are doing (that was great in Hostile Waters - for example - you pushed six once and the camera preview in the up-right corner showed point of view of unit no.6 - when you pushed 6 for the second time, THEN it switched you TO the fullscreen unit control) - AFAIK in gaea mission you can't control one unit and watch another in small window. that would be useful, and can't be hard to implement. I would also like to have option to select WHICH unit i want to assist me. Also would be great to have a possibility to set certain parameters - for example level of damage/ammo/fuel - when set value would be crossed, the unit would search nearest repair/rearm/refuel station. Also i'm missing the option to ABORT in the radial menu. Suspend is pretty much useless... Or, there should be both. EDIT: since i played game for two days now, i can say that i'm starting to like it despite all those issues i've been bitching about. The lightning is nice, especially on islands with lots of trees. The game definitely feels like the original, and what i don't like i hope will be adressed in patches. I would like to know, whether the devs read not just bug reports, but also ideas from players. I know that it's not possible to fulfill every wish there is, but i'm seeing lots of the same requests... Anyway, keep piling ideas and to devs - I like that the idea to remake CC came from .CZ :-)

    frontier mission help

doesnt manta also use machinegun ??
  10. Another thing i like to see - ability to add units to carrier which were left on island after taking over, also in the original, mantas were able to land and dock on islands and you could have 4 mantas dedicated to defend the island and 4 on carrier...
  11. hello - i'm frustrated with production speed - always low on resources.. so i want to change defense type island to mining/resource type - searched through manual to no avail.. i equipped one walrus with mining pod, but don't know how to launch it.. do i have to destroy headquarters on already taken island ? help me someone

    voice volume failure

agreed add voice volume - i'm basically just reading subs...
  13. I also want the AI to lead more (or at least lead at all) when shooting.. Watching two AI mantas with machine guns fight it out is really frustrating - it's obvious the AI does not take into consideration movement of the opponent when aiming...

    frontier mission help

I just drove towards it and started shooting the hell out of the dish.. It took a while, but then started burning and from this moment it was just a few seconds until it exploded. I was aiming directly at the dish.
  15. please try the original, it's pretty amazing thing considering the year of release. You can run it in dosbox. Although i would like to see certain changes, adding more unit types would really stop being carrier command - it would just become another average strategy. This game can only got good reviews if the reviewer is considering the original i think. Every review without good knowledge of the original wouldn't be fair. - Exactly because there is not many units etc... Like i said, the units, the island system, the carrier micromanagement - it's all inherited from the original Carrier Command, and that's the way it should be. I'm not against larger changes, but it should be some special mode.
  16. I want to have a better queue in production - to be able to prioritize certain items... or at least not to have them automatically grouped.
  17. Hey these ideas i like - although the 3rd side would have to be optional and different types of carrier after finishing with the default one for example... Your other suggestions i feel would steer away from the overall Carrier Command feeling, which is one thing they managed to do well...
  18. i'm afraid it won't be better... the longer i play the more problems i get... In my case those are not bugs per se, but more bad design choices and what feels like lazy programming to me..

    Two Monitors

Please... Thats what was good in Hostile Waters - 1. possibility to see other unit in PIP after one push of number of said unit. 2.transfer to direct control of that unit after second push of number of said unit.
  20. Well in my case it's pretty much every walrus set to follow, and even though it's not such a big problem to switch and correct, it should not be necessary in the first place... I don't really get the "it's not a big deal after all" opinion - for me it breaks the game... Although i want the feature from Hostile Waters - to be able to choose which unit i want to follow me, and to see other units in miniview. Not so hard to add - one # push will only show in the miniview point of view of # unit, second push of # switches on to control of the unit. It could help in overall battle orientation.

    Congratulations!

i think that those ppl must have played another game... i am having fun with the ai as well, but not in a good way...
  22. What the ....? Is there some kind of Aliens anniversary or what ? I'm getting this quote everywhere today...
  23. Hello - i am playing the Outpost Island mission and right now i'm stuck. It's the north firewall situation. The whole area is locked down behind some wall/blue shield. I'm supposed to find door controls. There's a mission pointer in the middle of small base near the center of island, which says "Search the base" but none of the buildings are possible to interact with, and parking right on the pointer does also nothing. I tried to reload earlier save, but when i got to this point, i'm stuck again. I also tried to go down to the command center, blasted everything in sight, but still cant capture it. Also - i don't know details about the planet on which the story happens, but i would expect that dynamic weather system would include day/night changes. The game clock (not realtime clock) shows midnight and the sun is almost in the same position as in few missions before it, where it showed 16:00. Since i cannot play further because i wanted to be done with campaign before i start strategy mode, i'm placing the game on hold for now... I welcome any tips related to my Outpost mission problem.
  24. Thanks - doing it for the sixth time helped... I don't know why didn't it work for the first 5 times i did it before even posting... I circled every building in the area, i even remember seeing those controls which then weren't interactive... But somehow 6th time's the charm obviously... Now i can look forward to the bug you and Quantum have for a change... I got a suspicion that playtesting was outsourced to southern sudan, and since sudanese employees needed those money, they just replied that everything is ok instead of reporting that none of them actually owns a computer...
