1. What is the BI approach regarding updates in Alpha, can we expect lots of patches coming frequently or instead less frequently as large updates and if this is going to change in later stages? Sorry if was already answered somewhere.. :p

low FPS in multiplayer

Check this thread: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?147533-Low-CPU-utilization-amp-Low-FPS And http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=716&nbn=30#bugnotes
3. If you have selected Raster 3D in RivaTuner server statistics, change it to Vector 2D. Lemme know it it worked.
4. I would hold with it, look at some people specs which are facing same exact issues as you (including latest gen. i5 / i7's) http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=716&nbn=29#bugnotes
5. Then you're out of luck, because Arma 3 is Steam based. Also if you didn't know, it's actually Steam that saved BI from complete disaster on Day 1 Arma 3 Alpha release...
6. Never post your email adress at public forums, genitalies enlargement tools adverts and all kind of other spam is already heading to your inbox...

Settings and FPS

Infantry mission has the least impact on performance.. try the helicopters one.
8. I have only 1 wish, optimize this game.
9. Actually if you read the thread (first page) i made screenshot with every possible setting at low/off @ 1680x1050 resolution and still fps in low 20's range. (in MP it's even worse)
10. Maybe any word from dev? Like our CPU's are too low for this game (which would be strange since we meet recommended system specs) or is it optimization issue? I'm not sure if upgrading cpu makes any sense right now, as with my budget i could go for i5 3450 at best and there are people reporting same issues even with i7 3770k... Also i think there is the same issue as with Arma 2, where Multiplayer servers with poor performance also cripple players fps which is rather strange and i never seen such issue in other game. (and it was well known issue in Arma 2) Any information / communication is welcome. :p
11. Yes it does, AFAIK you cant even unpause updating if in game.
12. Can i ask how did you tested this? I mean the steam cpu usage? I just tried few things and pretty much always steam is not using cpu at all, also i'm pretty sure if you have game running any steam updates will be paused. With steam overlay and some chats open i have 0-1% cpu usage from steam process, so i'm not sure if this going to help.. Edit: Is there any way to turn off physx completely?

AMD platforms unplayable

In what evironment? Also try to make screenshot.
14. Here is another screenie, from multiplayer with 10 players and some AI. <100kb
15. Black screen / display drivers stopped usually means gpu overheating or unstable overclock.
16. Or just use MSI Afterburner/Fraps/Dxtory etc.. :p
17. Most likely, but if you noticed it's in the recommended system specs and the gpu is well over recommended one, and still the fps is dropping to low 20's even with everything on Low / Off in 1680x1050 res. And that's with multiplayer game with around 15 people (infantry, no vehicles and nobody even visible on the screen) You think it's working as intended?
18. Uh yeah, but you have i5 2500k at nearly 5Ghz which is rather top notch.. You cant expect that kind of hardware/overclock from average player. :p
19. Right click Arma 3 on Steam, Properties, Launch Settings and paste here.
20. Thanks, btw. i tried -cpuCount=4 start parameter and the game is crashing on startup. (using Steam) So i guess it's actually for physical cpu's not cores? Another screenshot where the cpu usage is beyond a joke: >100kb Actually on this screenshot it looks like the game is actively using only 1 core? (and the temp. is only like 4-5C higher than the one i see when idling in windows..) Oh and if someone wondered, for the gpu/cpu usage/temps i'm using MSI Afterburner with HWiNFO64.
21. Much better actually, in Arma 2 i was getting 50+ fps pretty easily on med-high settings.
22. I have edited first post with screenshot with lowest possible settings (the second one..) And here is another one, where surprisingly it looks ok. (very high gpu and vram usage with high fps though the cpu usage is still a bit low?) >100kb Can someone explain me this sorcerery?
23. It's in my signature, and i tried every possible graphic setting including vsync.

Settings and FPS

My settings, it's working quite decently (most of the time around 60fps, about 30+ when there are vehicles/infantry around) As you can see i had to go down with draw distance alot, i think it's pretty heavy on CPU (also objects/terrain/shadow quality) Homever i also have quite few things at high / ultra so after all it looks pretty decently (except draw distance..) Looks like this: (34 fps when taking screenshot) Dont know why it was resized, but i'm playing at 1680x1050 resolution. If i go any higher with draw distance, it basically stays below 30 fps all the time as it gets cpu bottlenecked no matter what other settings you would change. (well atleast until some optimizations will come) Overally i'm a bit disappointed, i expected to be able play with similiar settings except the very tiny draw distance which is not only looking pretty bad, but also give me disadvantage in long range fighting.
