layman's terms* It basically means picture-in-picture. It's a bit more technical than that, but that's as layman as I can make it.

What computing system do you have for the Arma 3 Beta?

I need to re-OC my CPU (i5 2500k @ stock). I'm gonna see if she'll handle 4.5 or higher (had it had 4.4 stable). Not too worried since I have a Corsair H100 cooling her. -
even if is possible, it wouldn't be practical. that amounts to 1.13 times the size of the entire Korean Peninsula.

Arma 3 Beta Release thread - Prices, times, regions etc all questions here.

I suspect that sales will begin on the BI store first, and then on Steam once Valve updates their store at their regular time. -
Yeah, i've been tackling this ARG with these guys for a while now. given up many hours of sleep when we finally got access to igor's account. We've run through that server several times with a fine tooth comb.
-
There's definitely a lot more work to be done. We've only just begun!

Working on a Steam group for us. If you would like to join, it's called the ArmA III ARG Club.

I also was unable to connect to it from my desktop a while ago. I'm still on it on my laptop.
-
But players can also run offline, which would prevent updates. They may or may not have it hardcoded, but if they wanted the informant to disappear regardless whether or not someone is online that's probably how they'd go about it.
-
Yup, that's what I'm thinking. It could also be hardcoded to "disappear" on the 8th without a patch needing to be pushed.
-
I don't know how much more progress we can really make until Tuesday. In our inbox, we have another message that says we have to meet an informant at the Lighthouse Restaurant between March 5th and March 8th.
-
Yes you can, I already did (it's the quick start guide for the Alpha, however it currently is only one page that reads "final version coming soon"). >sendmail folder/guide.pdf
-
Yup, gotta ln it first though ( >ln /sbin/sendmail)

Attempting to SSH in on my laptop. Tried it on my desktop, host was resolving and was setting up the private key, then lost connection. Can't even connect to the terminal via my desktop anymore.

think we can safely assume you're not a graphic design artist haha :P
-
You're the one complaining about it, not us. Nobody is gonna read the credits and my name in there won't make the pants of the woman I like come off. Its a novelty bonus feature.

The game takes place in 2030. If you remember the gameplay videos released last year that showed Captain Miller cooperating with a local arms dealer, the BI dev/commentator, while describing the setting, said that the conflict has been going on for a very long time which has left the towns in ruins. For all we know, the war could last 17+ years.

The digital contents (tactical guide and maps) are Digital Deluxe and Supporter Edition exclusives and can't be purchased separately. Personally, I don't think their cost comes anywhere close to the difference in price points between the regular Alpha and Digital Deluxe editions.
-
I made a similar analogy in another thread, but I compared Steam to FedEx (as it is acting as a delivery service and not a retailer for units sold through the BIS store).
-
I completely forgot about that. Maybe the terminal's credentials are hidden at Mike 26, which would be plausible since that's where the actual computer system is supposedly located. Your theory is just as plausible, though. I'm surprised nobody has been able to gain access to the terminal yet.

Putting Stratis into perspective on size.

IIRC, Sahrani is about 100 square kilometers of landmass. -
What's the first thing you're going to do on Alpha?
nomofica replied to zukas3's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
New information for the ARG suggests that there will be intel at Mike 26 that needs to be recovered... So I will go there first, then to the monument at the southern tip of the island. -
So does this mean there's something at both Mike 26 and the monument? Could this intelligence include details about a possible Iranian threat to the Mediterranean?
