Interesting, I'll be sure to check it out in a bit with my HD 7970's. Thanks for the advice.

    Help with objects flickering

Anyone else experiencing these issues? If so, what have you guys done to fix it?
  4. Hey guys, so I've been having a blast with this game with only 3 issues thus far that are killing me: 1: No crossfire support (Understandable as game is still in alpha but was surprised to see no performance difference by turning crossfire on or off) 2: Flickering clouds- This one is killing me, for some reason some of the clouds are flickering on and off and I can't seem to figure it out. Has anyone else experienced this and if so please share how you've remedied the situation if at all. 3: Flickering screens and rear view mirrors in vehicles- Same issue as above with the only difference being that even as I drive, the images of the camera and rear view mirror are constantly flickering and remain static. My Specs: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit i7 3930k OC'd to 3.8 Ghz 32gb Corsair vengeance 1600 DDR3 2 XFX HD7970's in xfire. Default video settings were between Very High-Ultra and even changing some of the settings didn't really seem to affect much. I still encounter low GPU usage with fps anywhere from 25(at airfield) to 60+ most everywhere else and mid 30's in heavily forested areas. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

    Settings and FPS

What are your specs if you don't mind me asking? Just trying to gauge how my system will perform when I am able to get home and play.

Gamepad Friendly Controls in Arma 3!!!

For what its worth, I've had Arma 2 CO for about 5-6 months now and play exclusively with a 360 controller (even in Dayz) and do quite well for myself. I use Pinnacle Game Profiler and there is a very nice preset for Arma 2 on it. It allows me to pretty much control all tasks with the controller. I do use the keyboard every now and then for more seldom used commands that are not accesible through the gamepad but I do very well with it. I mostly play Coop scenarios with a few friends on veteran difficulty and occasionally Dayz.
  8. Well I ran a few tests using the E08 Benchmark with the settings that Maverick suggested and scored 2 fps higher when running on a single card with the values being 52 fps single card and 50 fps average crossfire mode. Just out of curiosity, I progressively OC'd my GPU to 1050 MHz from the stock 925 MHz and the fps increased to 56 on average using one card. Tomorrow, I'll try OCing the CPU and post back the results.
  9. As far as the system cooling, I already have aftermarket cooling with a Corsair Hydro Series H60 coupled with additional fans. Also, I had to reduce the page file size as it was eating up too much of my 120gb SSD. I gave it a range of 1-4gbs as I was afraid that getting ride of it completely would cause problems. I do find that running on one card instead of in crossfire gives me a bit more stability in a sense that the FPS don't fluctuate nearly as much. Often times with crossfire mode enabled, I'll get up to upwards of 150 fps one minute and then zoom in and it'll drop to 40 which causes some stuttering. I'm gonna try changing some of the settings to the ones you posted and see how it performs on a single card and in crossfire mode first and then if that doesn't work, try OCing the CPU. I'll post back with results. Thanks a lot for the help Maverick!
  10. Thanks for the help and yes 3.2Ghz is the stock speed for the CPU. Can you recommend me a good OC guide? I have never done it before as I was always afraid I'd fry my system lol. Currently I'm running the following settings at 3600 view distance: Quality preference: Very High Interface resolution: 1920 x 1080 3D Resolution: 1920 x 1080 (100%) Texture Detail: Very High Video Memory: Very High (Honestly don't know what this controls) Anisotropic Filtering: Very High AA: Normal ATOC: Disabled Terrain Detail: Very High Objects Detail: Very High Shadow Detail: High HDR: High (What exactly does this control?) PPAA: Disabled Postprocess effects: High Vsync: Disabled On the E08 Benchmark, I scored an average of 48 fps utilizing crossfire mode with the A2OA demo profile (that's the only one available unfortunately). I feel though that sometimes my game stutter's a little when I am zoomed in and spin around. Do you think OCing my CPU would help with this? Thanks for the help.
  11. Hey guys, I'm just looking for what you all think would be the best settings for me to run my game on. I currently play on a 60hz 1080p monitor. This is my setup: CPU- i7 3930k @3.2GHz GPU- Radeon 7970HD x2 (Don't know if this game is well optimized for crossfire mode) RAM- 32GB Playing game installed on an SSD for better load times.
