Consider The Consequences Before Being A Dick On A Server
mbamg replied to infiltrator_2k's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Before my unit set up an anti-hack system on their servers we'd be getting hacks every other day during our public operations. Now we get hacked every once in a few weeks. +1 Those of you who can understand Chinese should find the Chinese H1Z1 videos on Youtube. Seriously these people are as racist and bigoted as people can get. Obviously they aren't representative of all Chinese people, but it seems there's a certain type of people who gravitate towards these kind of games. -
Set your in-game video profile to High.

ArmA2 / OA (low) performance issues
mbamg replied to R3fl3x's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Hi guys. Recently, for some reason I've found gameplay on OA to be a lot laggier than on vanilla. Even when I reduce the resolution and turn down my graphics settings to all normal or low it's still less than 20 fps most of the time. I don't even use anistropic filtering or AA, so I'm not sure what's the source of the problem. I have no difficulty maintaining a constant 30 fps in vanilla. My specs (it's a laptop): Intel Core i3-380M ATI Mobility Radeon HD5650M 4GB of RAM at 1333 Mhz Seagate Momentus 500GB 7200 RPM -
BI replied swiftly and told me that they had given me new links. Direct downloading works fine now. By the way, the problem for me was occurring on both US and UK servers, so I think my problem was an isolated one.

CZech Army DLC isntalled. Lanuch AO/A2:CO CTD
mbamg replied to zolop0's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
So the problem here is that you don't have the English EULA, but the Czech one instead, am I right? -
Thanks for your advice. I'll be sure to try it on another PC and contact Sprocket if that doesn't work either.

I've tried Chrome, Firefox, and Internet Explorer browser downloads to no avail. I'm still getting empty files, and it's only with the ArmA 2 install files. Everything else is fine.

I've gone into my email inbox and clicked on the link in the purchase confirmation, then clicked on the direct download link. I then click on one of the files listed. Whether I'm using my download manager or browser, the resulting file has no size listed. The same thing happens when I go into Account Maintenance.

I'm having this problem with direct downloading the ArmA 2 install files. Every time I'm led to an .html file or an empty file, whether I'm using my browser or download manager to download. I do not have this same problem with the OA files. I'd prefer not to use Sprocket, so can anyone help? This seems like a server distribution problem if anything.

Bought CO, updated, but gets kicked off some BattleEye servers without explanation
mbamg replied to mbamg's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I'll get back to you ASAP on that. Right now I can't even find the servers that I couldn't go on. -
A Gateway NV5922h (they still sell it at the Source). Yep, I'm not even considering upgrading this laptop, and I think it'll be a few years before I get a computer that can play ArmA 3 well. Just wanted to get some clarification.

I would recommend using a download manager to download from BI's servers as opposed to using Sprocket, as I've been able to DL files at my internet plan's max rated speed as opposed to the <1MB/s and dropping that Sprocket seems to do.

mbamg replied to mbamg's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
At this point, I still haven't resolved the problem. However, I don't think it's that important to me anymore as I've found plenty of other CO servers which provide a more enjoyable overall experience (less player killers, griefers, troublemakers, plain noobs, etc.). -
OS - Vista 7 64-bit CPU - i3-380M GPU- ATI/AMD Radeon HD 5650M RAM - 4GB DirectX - 11 (but just barely) Guess I'm jumping onto the bandwagon with this one. In ArmA 2, I experience FPS lag in medium settings when smokes are deployed, running at 1080p resolution with 1500 something 3D resolution. I also have to turn down AA, as it's something that my GPU isn't very good with, apparently. If I am to play ArmA 3, running medium settings smoothly is enough for me. What do I need to upgrade in order to achieve that?

A question: is launching the program at least once before updating integral to success?
