  2. Yes and no. The walrus should have taken the shorter of the 2 routes; this indicates an issue with the AI itself and not the nav mesh. Granted, a bad nav mesh will screw over any pathing AI, but no matter how good your nav mesh is, it wont mean a thing if the AI is glitchy. Also, Here is a list of files that I unpacked from the patch file. Note that there is no .exe listed and that the pathfinding AI is not located in any script files, but the navspace files of almost all, if not all, the islands has been updated. Also, while the files may have been included, it does not mean that they where changed - I found one or 2 files that where unchanged or just had a few comments removed   3. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but the Pathfinding AI itself has not been touched in this patch from what I can see after unpacking it. What has been touched is the navspace files for each island (IE the nav mesh). While this will improve pathfinding, it most likely will not fix some of the major problems (IE: takeing the long way around for no reason).

  6. About making changes, Notepad ++ has a compair plugin to make it easyer to find out what changed in scripts.

  8. I can't seem to find where to change how many total islands are generated. I want to have over about 100 islands. (And yes, some will have to be duplicates). Or do I have to just rename the current islands to fake adding more?

While I am an advocate for free speech, all these rant posts seem counter productive; I would much rather have one intelligent conversation than wade through hundreds of rant postings. Note that I call a rant, 'this sucks' and an intelligent conversation 'this is not very good because of x,y, and z'; the differance being facts stated in a calm manner.

    Looking though the code with a text search and I see several places where the island names appear to be hard coded. If we are going to be getting an island editor to add our own islands, then this static type hard coding seems counter intuitive. Is there a dynamic way to spawn extra islands with the materials that we currently have access to?

  19. Anyone have a list of mandatory functions that have to be in the scripts to keep the game from crashing? Manly I'm looking for 2 separate lists. One list of functions that cannot be blank due to the game.exe expecting the function to return a value. And the other, A list of functions that the game.exe calls, but I remove the code inside the function and not have the game crash. Thygrrr gave us the cookies. /me looks over at the Devs :) Devs, if you manage to have some free time.... We know it is most likely a mess. But whatever refinances you may have on hand would be wonderful. So please, how about some milk?
