If you don't want your mod on the workshop then report it. Valve does a great job of taking down uploads that break the rules. Users are Valves eyes on the workshop. I report skyrim mods all the time that I know are breaking copyrights/rules and you get an email from valve saying thanks for reporting these infringements. Even better it would be swell if you put your own stuff on there to combat fakes. It would be kind of a missed opportunity if they didn't include workshop support. Yeah it's a shame some websites could disappear but it is not bohemias responsibility to keep them going.
This is great news, can't wait for the improved server browser. :bounce3: Valves server browser is pretty much the greatest I have seen. BF3 browser is also excellent, I hated it at first but it grew on me. GoG is not really a good alternative, they don't have a developer tool kit like steamworks. I'd imagine building those things yourself could take quite some time and be expensive which is something they clearly do not want. I'm sure they will still sell keys on their own store for those who don't want to give Valve that 30% cut. Looking forward to the great things BI will bring us in the future.
Nope. I like steam and have over 300 games on it but ArmA2 on steam has given me nothing but headaches. So much I bought the game and all the expansions again on the bi store. Plus for most of the time I had it installed it re downloaded the entire game whenever it patched. I would like them to have elements of steamworks like friends and a great server browser instead of that barbarian gamespy they have been using.
improved server browser, visually and functionally with more sorting filter options like, by region (usa,uk,ru,..). improved voice chat and option set for it (volume for incoming, outgoing, sound boost).
