This is all great but lets not kid ourselves into thinking the AI will be any better than what we find in Arma2. What we have in Arma3 are better graphics and physics, everything else however will be just as shit as it always has been. Don't believe me? Just wait and see...

Actually people, i just noticed that in the faction's description, it says the Greek resistance use captured or stolen assets from the Iranian armed forces. So there is still hope. But then again it looks like the primary assault rifle for the US at least is the f2000. So unfortunately i don't think BIS did much thinking there. I'm surprised, they knew the scar was advanced and may be a replacement for the m4 and so implemented it into operation arrowhead... but it seems they haven't thought it through for Arma 3. Unless of course it is an improved variant 20 years down the line, but there's little chance of that.

Arma 3 looks set to be a retarded blend of unlikely scenarios that don't mix well together. 1) We can see so far that apparently, Opfor is stronger and more advanced than blufor on the ground with it's rail gun tanks and super soldiers. But blufor is still stronger in the air with its f35s compared to opfor's L-159. 2) Both sides are using merkava's, not mentioning the fact that they suck and would never be used in real life. 3) The fn2000, WTF? The fn2000 sucks as a rifle as it is, how could it replace any better ones. Before you say this is the arma-verse, let me tell you, seeing as there are other "real life" rifles in the arma-verse, there's no way even an arma-verse human would pick an f2000 over the other choices. Unless of course they eventually found out that they actually happen to grow on trees. I get the feeling that BIS is following the general trend of all other game's developers. No actually knowledge of anything they are doing, they just throw in what they believe everybody will find 'cool'. Without actually trying to find out what people like of course. It's like BF3, everybody was getting hyped up, DICE promised tons of features. But once the game came out, it turned out to be completely shit. I mean, a humvee has more armour than a tank in that game lmao!!

Why doesn't the Apache have it's own laser designator?

and i noticed the ah11 wildcat has a laser designator the gunner can operate, is there a way of maybe transferring a file over to the Apache? -

Thanks, also can I ask, is there a way of making the Apache gunner cam more gyroscopic? It works greatly when the helicopter's turning but not when moving forwards, is there a way to make the cam stick on the same spot while moving forwards? I don't know if that's realistic though. And also is there a way of seeing the gunner cam as pilot? On a real helicopter you have the main flir and a smaller one above that on the nose for the pilot to use. -
No, i meant 'I' wanted to see out of curiosity what other people's opinions would be.

I think we should have a vote (just for curiosity, no other reason else).. who would rather play the realtime immerisive version of arma? State your reasons as well...

it said the comment was pending approval, so i guess I'll try waiting a bit. I'll post it again later if nothing happens.

Why want my last reply posted?????????? Is the admin a one of a kind arma fanboy??!!

Ok firstly, metalcraze, it's quite clear you know nothing about cryengine 3. You should look up atleast 1 video about cryenigne capabilities before you post your wrong facts here. The AI are not as dumb and scripted as those in Call Of Duty. Realize tThat they are a thousand better than those in Arma2/VBS2, they know how to duck, get behind cover, react to unexpected objects such as dead bodies, flank and actually have the brains to use tactics. I'm not going to post you any links, if you're not motivated enough to take your time researching this on your own then I have no idea what the hell you are doing here trying to compare and contrast the two programs with out even knowing the basics. Most of you here are criticizing cryengine 3 for the lack of weapon recoil, ballistics and weapon animations etc. Now bear in mind cryengine can achive more accurate ballistics and animations if they want, but i fail to understand the significance behind it all. If you look closely at the the VBS2 demonstration at I/ITSEC you will notice that it looks laggy and not fluid at all, wouldn't this make an accurate ballistics system even harder to use? This is a procedure simulator not a Firing Range, when i wan't to practice my shooting skills i will go there and not use a friggin game haha. Now other points, cryengine's amazing visuals and sounds are a huge plus. The atmosphere and looks will resemble real life. You are able to see differently coloured patches of ground where earth has obviously recently been excavated:confused::eek:. You are also able to see footsteps in the sand and brushed aside shrubbery where a hostile has been hiding. How being able to see an IED blatantly resting on top of a bland flat out terrain'd land such as that in VBS2 will prepare you for real life is beyond me. I wan't to be able to feel the suspense and fear (something I know VBS can't give you) when our perimeters at Outpost Restrepo are about to be over run by taliban, or when a 2000lb jdam is about to explode far too close to me and my men because of a mistake i made. Get what im saying?:j:

Have the take on helicopter physics improved since the pre alpha some months back where we could trial them inside arma? Because they were REALLY REALLY bad. Random tremors.. over banking, same instability you got in arma 2 where flaring for landing ment you ended up flying backwards at 50mph easily. They were really really bad.

Some things to add: SA80 and all its variants (considering the main character is British, it would be ridiculous to see him carry some sort of American prototype): L85A2 assault rifle -One of the most reliable weapons know to the world, getting a jam is good luck. It can fire 65,000 rounds without jamming once!! Compared to the HKs around 200 for 60,000 shots reputation. L22a2 -Light weapon... like the MP5 Aircraft: AH1 apache AgustaWestland AW159.. Lynx Wildcat Eurofighter Typhoon F35C - RN Challenger 3... from the future? or just an improved challenger 2.

I hope people realize that the main character in the game is British, and Blufor is NATO, not US Military. At the moment there is NOTHING British in the item suggestion part. Actually there's hardly anything NATO in that full stop.

Why doesn't the Apache have it's own laser designator?
AviPure posted a topic in ARMA 2 & OA - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Basically the title above. Why doesn't the apache have the capability to use it's own laser to fire hellfires at infantry or anything else in general as in real life. I hope when arma 3 comes out there will be more attention to detail. Including things like problems to do with manual fire switching when playing multiplayer with another real player in your helicopter.
