Ahh sneaky ;) Yeah, the Hi-Vis stuff I made for 16AA, mainly so we could identify instructors on trainings/Home Rotations etc. Both the Helmet and the hi-vis vest are Arma 2 models so aren't the best. I plan for them to eventually be in the general Brit mod but they're not actually finished yet. -

Hi Guys, sorry I haven't been around much lately. I think I've found what's causing the issue with the unit errors and now it's basically a case of repacking everything and testing. I know it's a pain in the ass adding all the kit to units individually so it's very high on my agenda to sort this out. (expect an update in the next couple of days). Just an update on where I am with other stuff, unfortunately I haven't had much time so the Winter stuff is still a little way off. I've been wondering how to release the addon and what requirements (if any) it should have. Originally I planned on linking to Craig's SP Pack Mk7's via hidden selections but the only thing is there's a load of those OFP man skeleton errors with Craig's stuff and it's a fairly hefty download. I was also considering expanding a little bit to more of a generic British mod (minus the vehicles) but that's a lot of work and these kind of dream projects where say all the Brit addon makers and helpers come together and make something awesome..I dunno it probably wouldn't work out much better than everyone releasing their own stuff. Like sometimes people like going to the shop and buying pick and mix rather than a massive bag of sweets. It's so tempting though with all this open-source stuff. About StalkerGB stuff, I never really thought about retexturing them. They are already wearing MTP although it's clearly a different type. I agree his units are definitely far more British than the BIS ones even if the trousers are a couple sizes too small ;) I'll certainly give it some thought. They may be more suited for the Arctic units as his clothes seem a bit bigger and bulky. Btw Redders we may bump into eachother on Saturday, if so i'm sure we'll have plenty of time to discuss the latest fashion ;) Back to the units, I'm thinking 90% of us probably have Kiory L85/Trixie British weapons. Would it be helpful if I made the units spawn with those weapons? So pointman with a L86, marksman with L129 etc? or is it going to be too much of a pain in the bum for those without the mods? Problem with Trixie's stuff is I don't think it takes default 5.56 ammo but there's a good bit of variety with all that kit. I think for now I'll just kit everyone out with a Kiory L85 and faff about with making groups etc later on. -

Looks good Flax! Will you be retexturing the magazines as well? If you've got the source files I guess you could set a hidden selection in the models rather than having an entire new model for every BFA weapon. Like mihikle, if you need any testing we'd be very happy to help :)

Cool, also one more thing I noticed which I think could be quite easy for you to fix. When aiming at something with the CLU from the 3rd person perspective, it's the Javelin tube that is pointing at the target when it should really be the CLU the operator's looking through. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?179130-MDH-TopDownAttack After having a little look around I found this mod. It actually allows the Titan to have a Top-down attack. It seemed your Javelin inherited quite a lot of stuff from the Titan so I actually put your classname in that config and guess what...your Javelin now has Top-down attack and Direct!!! I know the author has given permission for it to be used in other mods so perhaps you could PM him ;) One thing I did notice though is it kind of conflicts with your lock-on system so you can kind of lock-on simultaneously. I'm sure that could easily be fixed though :)

I'm loving the Javelin, a Top-down attack and the ability to switch between the two would be awesome! Also in reality the tube is already loaded with the missile and when fired the tube can be thrown away. I believe the original batch of Javelins made were not disposable though. Also what range does the weapon ingame lock onto things at? The manufacturers advertise 2.5km as the effective range but they're always going to say the highest number ;) Anyway good job Trixie, Can't wait for an update!

I'd focus more on the RIS L85. Regular troops don't really use the standard L85 anymore.

A question for Redders or anyone who might know, are 'wooly pully's' still worn with MTP bottoms or are they a thing of the past? There's lots of pictures of guys wearing them in Northern Ireland when on patrol etc. The more recent pictures I've found seem to suggest they're now worn more on special occasions (marching through the town etc). -
That's not a very nice way to talk to people. Always ask for permission..unless author's declared they hate A3 and have no intention updating their mods :)

If you guys could also fix the massive RPT spam involving 'skeleton errors' that would be amazing. We really want the jackals/landy's in our missions but with 70+ guys each spamming all those errors to the server RPT it's just not viable at the moment which is a shame. For those that don't know what I'm talking about, massive RPT spam can often cause desync and it's amplified by large numbers of players. At the moment in a typical mission we'll get about 40,000 lines of it from various mods. -

This adduniform "UK_2010_MultiTerrain_RA_FieldUniform1"; :) paste into init line. I'll get a crate working as a kind of hotfix. Probably have that up later. The unit's have decided not to work for some reason. -

It'll probably mean that I won't actually need to have all the TRF's and logos on the uniforms and can just release a plain version where people can add the stuff themselves. Problem is though there seems to be only 2 spaces to put stuff. So I'd probably keep a uniform with the parachute wings on for the airborne type units. Also Squad xml..I thought looked a bit silly. The badges on the vehicles being so big and shiny just looked a bit odd in anything other than an Altis life server. I'll definitely see how it looks. I'll probably keep all the various uniforms anyway and just add some plain ones. I'm not sure whether you can choose which units/vehicles have squad xml etc? Like the T-shirts for instance, I think they'd look pretty awful with TRF's on the sleeve ;) -

It's probably because you're not adding the uniforms to your units ;) This adduniform "UK_2010_MultiTerrain_3Para_FieldUniform1"; Just paste that into your init lines, the part in " " can be swapped out to whatever. Classnames are included in a text file. I'll make sure I put a crate in for next time :) -

Addon makers are so fortunate to have so many people providing all this good information. I'm not sure you get that in many other games. By the way, just a reminder. I don't think the actual 'units' work so uniforms must be pasted into init lines/gear scripts/ammoboxes etc. A bit of a ballache but I'll try sort that out for next time. Never really bothered because our Arma 3 community has a gear script which does all this stuff for us. Classnames can be found in the readme. (They should be correct). @da12thMonkey I'll certainly have a look at that. I'm not a massive fan of squad XML. The ones on the A3 vehicles are massive and I don't think there's a way to change it unless you've made the actual model. Apparently on the jacket model, if you've got squad XML enabled it'll be covering half of the arm, Haven't tested that though. That reminds me I've got to do something about the Marines uniform. Because the TRF is on the left it looks a bit crap. Also I couldn't put the little badge ontop of the shoulder because it mirrors on both arms. -

Yeah, I'm planning on doing quite a bit of stuff. I'm quite lucky really because there's a couple of guys in my community who know how to model etc so chest rigs, helmets is something I'd like to do. The arctic stuff's something I really want to do in some depth rather than just reskinning a couple of BIS uniforms and leaving it at that. Which is why I haven't released them with the other stuff. I always thought winter warfare was something really lacking in Arma 2. There was a couple of great maps (not particularly big) but there certainly wasn't much in the way of British kit made for those kind of terrains. It's a shame the whole winter scene isn't more popular really because there's quite a few medical mods out there that I'm sure could simulate things like hypothermia and all the bad things about fighting in the cold. That's something I also thought about. Having historic uniforms from down the years. I know there's a UK Pack from Craig which has a lot of uniforms like that in though. -

Not in the default game. For the next update I'm going to try and get some extra models which will give a bit more variety. I've also got to release the Artic stuff as well :) -
