  1. I think that's right. knowsAbout is a funky variable. I have the script set so it has to be all the way at 4.0 to simulate reaction time, and even then it's really fast. That probably also helps the timeout.
  2. Yeah, the way it's written right now doesn't really support that. Look to see if there are civilian versions of the trucks you want. There's a timer for the reset in the settings. It takes 60 seconds by default.
  3. I'm no scripter, but you can look for their faction in the config browser and add it to or replace the CivF exemption. Be warned that this will make it so all vehicles from that faction are exempted, so if it's AAF, you will be able to drive every AAF vehicle without being noticed.

    Normally the leaders are used to command squads, giving them the role of the platoon leader. But to help encourage stealth for the player and save performance, I've divided the squads into smaller fireteams, and I'm using the leaders to fill the position of squad leader, who should follow his units. This is also true of platoon leaders, but to a lesser extent. I'll try some follow waypoints, though. As to how well HAL is working these days, I'm having trouble with several of the config variables, BB seems to be completely messed up, and I'm getting a lot of error messages. I hope you get the chance to work on it, because I use it in most of my missions now.

    Any tips on getting the leaders to move around more? I tried enabling relocation, but they didn't move a muscle for over an hour.
  6. Can you make it so placing explosives increases your knowsAbout? It's too easy to just walk around with your weapon away and blow things up with IEDs. I also need an exempted weapons array so I can use a standalone flashlight without getting shot at.

    My post seems to have been eaten... I want to exempt a few groups (singular units) from HAL so I can use them with the BI transport request module. That way I can request transport, but at the moment the waypoints get in each other's way and cause the unit to freak out. Is there a way to just remove a group from HAL's command?

    SOLVED!!! I had a few strange controls assigned. "engine 1-4 lower/raise" and "fast forward" under aircraft controls was on my collective. Once I got rid of those I found out the collective wasn't actually working, so I switched it to analog. It's still a hard game, but it's playable now. Thanks for working with me on this, guys!

    I'm using a Microsoft Sidewinder. I have an AV8R, but it's having some serious problems right now.

    Both ways, but it really seems to freak out if you start flying. ---------- Post added at 14:23 ---------- Previous post was at 13:47 ---------- Tried turning down my deadzone and sensitivity. Made it really hard to bank, that's it. As for the other choppers, the larger ones behave even worse!

    Yeah, I turned the difficulty all the way down, same exact problem. Even with auto hover it's descending rapidly. Reinstalling now. EDIT: Reinstalled. Exact same problem.
  12. Not sure if this is the right section... or what to search for. Basically, my helicopters are doing everything except flying. They're flipping upside down, spinning randomly, and descending uncontrollably, all of the above with no warning whatsoever. The only way to fly is with auto hover, but that's limited to a very low airspeed. I can fly in ArmA, and I've been lightly "studying" helicopter physics, but this is ridiculous! I haven't tried turning down the difficulty, will update when I do (hopefully tomorrow), but I'd like to learn to fly with full realism settings.

    Mod Enabling/Disabling

    I'm afraid I fucked my game up. I was using the in-game expansions menu, and I now have an error that prevents me from getting to said menu. ---------- Post added at 09:14 ---------- Previous post was at 08:56 ---------- Okay, here's the solution for my problem. In the event you cannot get to the expansions menu, take the following steps: 1. Move all your modfolders OUT of your game folder. 2. Launch the game, and disable all mods from the expansion menu. 3. Restart the game, and check that all expansions are disabled (they shouldn't even show up at this point) 4. Close the game and move your modfolders back into your game folder. 5. NEVER TOUCH THE EXPANSION MENU AGAIN!!!

    Can someone make a mod that replaces the M249 with this? All ACE versions, and both the the A2 and OA (funny looking retractable stock) version.
