  1. I tried out the 'create an SP mission' option - and it worked in there ! I was trying to use it to finish off Scenario No7 (Freedom fighters) - the one many threads say is a bugged, unbalanced mess. So it seems it doesn't work in Scenarios ? That's okay, if it worked I would just be tempted to use it for every SP challenge.

I'm running Combined Operations (both patched to v1.10 and v1.59). @CBA changelog lists the latest change as 22nd April 2011 - so within a version range that should be functionable with Lokikeys. The only addons activated in the shortcut switch are CBA and LOKIKEYS. I have nothing in the default addons folder(s) and am using the recommended method of @foldername\addons.
  3. What is the timescale on the fix for this ? I noticed in another thread that someone reported that SP07 was broken back in 2009, with failed objectives and enemies re-spawning from where their base used to be etc etc..... It gets boring after a while, holed up in a supply depot constantly rearming with RPG's, standing up and blowing up any tanks that come to near, crouching down, buy new RPG, repeat ad nauseum. The bloody tanks are like Peter North: they just keep coming and coming !
  4. Yes I forgot to mention that I have @CBA installed and working (I needed it for @Invasion 1944). Both Lokikeys and CBA appear on the A2 title screen AND in the Expansions menu, but nothing in the game. Loki posted that they should appear on the mouse wheel commands. It shouldn't matter what name I give the @Loki folder as long as the command line switch matches, should it ? No I don't use it for MP, I live in China so it is impossible to get a server with a ping of less than 350.
  5. How do you actually activate this ? I tried in the normal way with an @ folder with an addons subfolder and then a command line switch, but nothing on the 'Action' menu as was stated. On Cheathappens (I googled for how to activate Lokis Lost Keys), the guy on there says that ...... Find and make a backup of your missions.pbo then make a folder to extract all the files to with pboview. Now you can edit what ever but i went and edited the campaign missions, so go into those folders and open the mission.sqm file with notepad. After addOns[]= and addOnsAuto[]= place this text "loki_lk", If you do that to all of them then everymission will have loki enabled. Now you have to take the shortcut to the game properties and edit the extention to look like this "C:\arma2\Bohemia Interactive\arma2.exe" -nosplash -mod=@CBA;@loki Then just go to the games install folder and create a folder called @cba and another folder called @loki and sub folders in each called addons then place the loki_lk.pbo in @loki\addons folder and all the files from the community based addons in the @cba\addons (@cba actually should install but if you unzip it yourself youll have addons folder with .pbo files and a folder called .rsync Is this true ? You have to mess with your missions.pbo file ??
  6. It's driving me nuts that I can't find out how you do this. In the original OFP, tanks and choppers used to target and fire automatically UNLESS you selected 'Manual Fire'. But whatever tank I am driving, or chopper I am piloting, the AI never target and shoots for me, consequently I get trashed very quickly. Can someone explain how you turn on auto-targeting and shooting, so I can just concentrate on driving/piloting ?
  7. Combined Arms v1.10 and v1.59 (1 addons; CGA (Combined Arms) Windows XP64. Definite Bug In Harvest Red, final mission, I assigned all my T72 drivers as 'Team Yellow'. If I bring up the map, then 9,9,4 to select them, I cannot move them by clicking on the map ! The standard MOVE menu comes up instead. Really annoying ! In the last mission, unless I select each driver individually (not even 2 tank drivers) before map clicking them, then the pathfinding AI behaves really strangely and the tanks seem to go off in random directions. (But it is weird that if I just select the units as 994 would select, but manually, then I CAN click on the map - albeit it with Down's Syndrome AI) Definite Bug If I get out of the BMP2 at night (lights off, NV on), I get back in and the crew ALWAYS have turned them back on ! Possible Bug Harvest Red, final mission again. You can't build defenses on main bases, only on the satellite camps. Leading to a single rifleman always recapturing them ! Also the 'Buy Units' NEVER works (unless you count a 'UAZ' as working) except at your main HQ on the other side of the map !! Annoying Feature In the last mission of Harvest Red, NEVER assign the rest of Team Razor (or ANY of Team Razor) to an AI Commander so that you have more space for Tank Crew !!!!! (or whatever) 17+ hours into the mission (THE Mission of missions !) I can only -ENDMISSION because one of Team Razor has died ! Even sending 8 T-72's to the same Commander fails to stop a Team Razor member dying ! A real pisser ! Annoying Feature When you have multiple tank crews, the current icon display is inadequate. All the Tank icons should ideally be grouped together, and the crew numbers should ideally appear INSIDE the tank icon. As it stands, the icon interface is really messy. (Not worth putting the 'Suggestions forum' really)
  8. Aha ! Thanks guys ! I notice that when the entire crew of a tank is friendly AI that they are absolutely deadly and fire immediately at targets. As soon as I get in as a driver then turn into simpletons who do nothing.

Game Version: Combined Arms (A2 v1.10) and (OA v1.59) Addons Installed: Lastest version of 'CBA' Campaign Mission: 'Badlands' Allegiance: CDF (the one that is not NAPA) After taking the first fortified village, you meet the portable BMP HQ at 'Point Oranges'. I did the following: 1) Unlock Mobile HQ 2) Get in (as driver or gunner it makes no difference) 3) Select 'Construction' 4) Select 'Base' 5) Build the base for $100 (I tried a variety of different positions to no avail). Next thing that happens is a goat bleats and Cooper is sinking into an ocean whereupon he is shot by the infamous BIS invisible sniper and GAME OVER. I have tried moving the BMP HQ 50 or so metres before attempting to build a base, the same thing as described above happens. I am just hoping that building a base is not essential to this mission.
  10. Thanks for the help. What is "keyboard #2" ? Is it the same as pressing ~,6 (the actions menu) ? I remember that the Flashpoint Tank/Chopper Commander could select which target to attack merely by clicking on the Red Squares on the HUD. There doesn't seem to be such a HUD in Arma 2 ? I can't help but feel the NPC foot-soldier AI is lacking compared to Flashpoint. Arma 2 AI told to 'return to formation' (ie follow me) always end up 100 or so metres behind and getting lost - they often get stuck by running into a tree non-stop. Also they don't seem too keen to engage the enemy at all. I'm forever having to go to the map and force them to attack individual infantry units.

The problem was caused by me installing Arrowhead before Arma 2 AND installing Arrowhead in a non-default sub-folder whilst installing Arma 2 to it's default folder. Here's how I fixed it incase anyone ever searches for the same problem. Uninstalled EVERYTHING including reg entries using Revo Uninstaller (Steps 4 & 7 are maybe non-essential, but I read elsewhere on the forum that doing this activates certain aspects of the Arma 2 Editor.) Arma 2 part 1) Installed Arma 2 from DVD to default folder (albeit on Drive D instead of C:) 2) Patched to v1.09 (because DVD installation wass v1.01, and patch 1.10 requires 1.05 minimum) 3) Patched to v1.10 4) Played Arma 2 campaign "EW" and made a save game Arrowhead Part 5) Installed Arrowhead from DVD to default location (Drive D instead of C) 6) Patched Arrowhead to v1.59 7) Played Arrowhead and made a save game 8) Copied the @CBA folder to the 'Bohemia Interactive' folder 9) Installed Invasion 1944 10) Shortcut now reads "......-nosplash -mod=expansion;@CBA;@i44co" 11) Run the above shortcut and missions appear under SP Campaigns. Tada ! No errors at all.

There ARE plenty of existing threads on here for combining the Steam versions. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=103783 http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=101214&highlight=run+combined+operations I tried moving the Invasion 1944 folder into the OA folder, and now I get the Invasion 1944 loading screen, but NEW errors (variations of the 2 I mentioned before), and it still doesn't appear in the Campaigns or SP list. Plus if I try to run A2OA as vanilla (without command line switches) I get the same original error messages (!) Aw man, I hate this game ! :-) ---------- Post added at 04:13 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:04 PM ---------- I'm going to try uninstalling Arma2 and installing it in a sub folder of Bohemia Interactive called 'Arma2' - this is what Invasion 1944 seems to assume is the default path. I really hate having to install, FADE is great but it's deliberate disk errors fuck up my IDE Driver everytime, causing it to default to PIO mode instead of DMA mode - meaning it runs VERY slowly and locks up the computer whilst it installs.

My path to Arma 2 is: D:\Games\Bohemia Interactive My path to Arrowhead is: D:\Games\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2 Operation Arrowhead I tried both the path in the way you suggested, they both stopped the error messages BUT now the title screen looks weird, it is a kind of POV of below the sea (but it obviously just caused by missing a whole load of stuff). And Invasion 1944 is not listed in Expansions, but CBA IS. Weird.

I have the Combined Operations box-set (not the Steam version) with 2 DVDs etc. (The only maybe 'unusual' thing being I installed A2OA long BEFORE A2) They are both installed into the Bohemia Interactive folder.) All my versions are the latest, A2/OA and all the addons. I have no other addons installed except the ones required by 'Invasion 1944'. I want to play 'Invasion 1944'. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=117585&highlight=run+combined+operations I installed the 1 additional addon it required, and downloaded their 1.2Gb self extracting installer. When I try to run the game, with the command line .....arma2oa.exe" -nosplash -mod=expansion;@CBA;@i44coit (I have also tried with the "=expansion" removed) on running the game, it says 'addon extended _eventshandlers requires addon catracked2_aav'. If I continue then it says 'No entry Bin\Config.bin\cfgvehicles\land_fire_barrel.scope' The mod shows up under Expansions, but there is nothing under 'Campaign' or 'SP'. Invasion 1944 is not accepting new registrations, so I cannot ask the question there. Google says that 'Invasion 1944' seems to need some kind of special configuration of the game called 'Combined Operations' (I thought this was just a title on the box !). People keep saying "you are not running Combined Operations, you need to run Combined Operations" - but without saying HOW you do so ! What is the EXE or the command I need to run that combines all the features of both Arma 2 games so that addons like 'Invasion 1944' will work ?

    Thanks. I already saw the list on the Wiki, which is what prompted my asking in the first place. I didn't mean to provoke anyone with my question, I just thought that for 540mb there MUST be more than than those obscure fixes in there ? Updated shaders maybe ? Better multi-core support ? High resolution textures and models ? A new campaign, or SP missions ?

    Because 540mb for an update with no beneficial updates in it seems silly. Now, if it was running in the Arma 1 or Arma 2 engine (like when Valve released Half Life1 under the source engine) - THAT would be a must have download. Really, are there any good reasons to update ?

    Can someone from BIS give a list of reasons, or even a single reason, why an owner of OFP should download this 'update' ? I can see no new features worthy of a 540meg download - indeed the 'update' seems to actually break a perfectly functioning game for some people on here (the disclaimer at the bottom of the Wiki even states that it may introduce new bugs). So.......why should I/we download this ??
  19. How do you do this ? Arma 2 is a very slow installation and I want to watch a movie in KMPlayer whilst it installs. However I cannot because of the damn installation 'music' ! Is there any way to turn this off ??

Installed a fresh vanilla A2 (combined operations version) Patched it to v1.08, then discovered there was a newer v1.09 patch, Tried to run the v1.09 patch and got multiple "xdelta3 returned error code 1". Some of the PBO's were okay, most threw up this error. There are no solutions to this issue on the forums, just lots of grasping at straws suggestions. Went to official forums and read the patch guide, which said... I have ARMA 2: Combined Operations, but I only see patches for ARMA 2 and ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead. Do I need to install both? No, you only need to install the patch for ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead as it includes the patch for ARMA 2 in it. So I downloaded v1.59 AO patch, went to run it, and of course, it said quite rightly that I did not have Arrowhead installed so it could not proceed. So, is the 1.09 patch from the official site - a) Not meant for use with v1.08 ? b) Not meant for use with Combined Ops ? c) Anyone have a link for the EXACT 1.09 patch for Combined Ops Arma 2 (not Arrowhead).

I tried this and it said that Operation Arrowhead was not installed on my computer - which it isn't. I need to make a separate post for this for a more serious patch issue.
