Hi guys little update i merged the 2 scripts together so now you can question and on question it plays anim and brings up gear menu if illegal items are there it then gives the option to arrest but then he just teleports which is not what i want any ideas just take out the teleport and use as my police car as a hold over

    Thank's for the info and example just thought might be able to do through the config on map it's self ill give it a go and see how I go as I can alter the damage and binpbo with new settings for all gates on map to be locked and breachable is the ultimate goal F2K try the Sangin map it may be small but offers alot in realism and is not like any of the other maps Thanks F2K that done the trick nice touch now can breach compounds and search and arrest civ swith the other scripts i got working love it thanks
  7. Cheers guys for your input I tried the way you said with the weapon holder the civ instantly dropped the ammo on floor when i stood next to him so I did not get it working that way. Create gear was the way i was thinking like how you can search a dead guys body but with a live person and just have the gear button as a search button changed from interrogate which opens gear inventory for you to see what they carry. i can keep the true false part of the script for naming the illegal item so arrest still shows when i have looked in units gear the script can check up items that make him arrestable And if illegal items are there then use the arrest civ as I can add items the addweapon to there inventory as I have got civs with these items but only can check equipment when i have shot them lol Thanks again think im out my depth with this 1 have to do loads more reading and testing

    Door Breach

    Hi all I like this idea a lot can I simple use this on the double gates as there an object my point is on sangin I have large double and single gates we usualy breach with a charge but that can take out walls and all so bangs to big but this would do nicely as i can script it in the map it self so all comps that have a gate can be breached. i just tried this and in the trigger condition THIS DAMAGE ID8119 > 0 I added the code but it won't work it says missing ; but I have it the same as in the post above if i take out the space between this and the id thisdamageID8119 > 0 it goes through but then does nothing in game. Is there an example of doing the above on an object that i could have please thank's or a demo mission on the sangin map 1st wooden gate on compound east of the alamo fob in sangin town for map id way cheers.   10. Thank's for the help sounds good i had a though about the search action is it possible to when the action comes up to search could it open the civs invetory box like a backpack or ammo box. So you can see what they carry not just a true or false like at the moment as xxx amount of cash maps radios binoculars can all be items of evidance of enemy activity then if items are there you can then get a second action for arrest . Guide for noobs on extracting OA content and converting for use hi all ive had such a sh*t time not getting this right for my map to work so now I've managed it as there's no guides for OA stuff yet or proper bis tools i found out the hard way now ill share what I've found out to get my map working and playing to save some 1 else the nightmare Ive had After setting up your BI Tools Drive you need to download some kit from mikero @ devheaven Bisdll http://dev-heaven.net/projects/tdt/files Dpbo.dll http://dev-heaven.net/projects/mikero-pbodll/files Convertp3d all the rest from the second link Arma2p Extractpbo Make a folder I called mine convert now put all downloaded kit in here for it to work then put the convert folder in :p\ drive And click the arma2p now a dos box will open and delete some folders but will refill them with oa content as well as arma2 now it will convert and rename OA content the p3d models for visitor to see it will also put the arma2oa bulldozer exe in so will work in visitor Now after some time it will complete now look in the :p\ca folder and copy all the sky_ textures files and cloud weather from :p\CA\takistan\data folder now place them in your map folder ie map\data Now delete all but these files buildings buildings2 misc misc2 misc3 misc fix plants2 plants_e plants_pmc roads roads2 roads_e roads_pmc signs2 signs_e structures structures_e structures_pmc UI Now if its like mine your buildings and like will show in Vis3 and bulldozer and binpbo will work with no errors from OA models or Oa configs i still have to sort the anims for the doors and ladders and new oa roads but there is a guide in a thread some where soon as ive sorted it ill add to post :)

Hi all is there a way of using the arrest script after you have searched and found an illegal item on a civ I am trying to simulate a harts and minds type mission and require soldiers to find evidence in compounds and search civis and cars on a road block in that area. For illegal items such as weapons radios bomb making equipment intelligence and if a civi is found carring illegal items to be able to arrest them for later interrogation which might or might not reveal locations on the map I have got the arrest sorted and a MP landrover to come to location from police station. Then the arrested civ enters MP landie. I also would like to make the landie drive back to the police station or uk fob for interrorgating and the suspect to go to a holding area till ready to question him has any 1 got a heads up where to look for a similar script or help adjusting this script thank's all

    Insurgency

    Hi all I love insurgency it fits my Sangin map to a T is there any way to Implement some ideas I have had as you have done a great job on this game type so far All insurgents as Takistan guerillas and some civi's in the squad with only technical's and mounted zu23 and cars and motorbikes for a more Taliban type enemy and mobile force. can 1 human player be added as a civie that can place ieds and pick up and drop weapons as he wishes to avoid being shot and move more freely about the battle field like the way they fight at the moment having ammo stashes all around different compounds for non ace version I have noticed that the guerillas will sit in the back of off road technical's which would be good for rolling random patrols in game and dug in postion's not just the rooftop zu23 but dug in postion's so far from roads on high points for cross fire ambushes from town to town fighting Also would it be possible for the stone throwing script be put in for civi's when entering a hostile red area once the area is green script stops for that area and civi's become friendly. Can the trip wire script be placed on gates of componds in a random fashion so when entering a compound it runs the risk of being lethal to 1 so will make you blow walls to gain access to a safe area for cover.   14. yes mate thats the choirs of visitor for you you have to load all models you want to use only the once then your done and can copy or resize to what you need arma2p tool the 2.5.1 is the way to go it has been easy since that came out thanks mikero again @spectrum warrior ill be updating the guide very soon to point to the new tools and take out what doesnt need to be there any more

    ArmA 2 OA Beta Build 82604

    Has any 1 noticed that the models are not loading the lods for close up lod i mean normally you get the higher lod when close to an object but since the last beta i now have a screen that looks like vaseline has been put over the monitor its totaly un playable like that if i turn of the beta its fine again but then i get the ctd out of memory so any 1 getting this as well

    No probs mate ill pm it today glad your back in the game. And a big thank you to mikero for his tools as I would not have bothered if I had to convert all models 1 by 1 to get in p drive and working so thanks mate. I feel I have learnt so much from this game in such a short time every day is a learning curve with ARMA2

    hi mate sorry have not been in forum for a while I got all to work with the latest arma2p tool 2.5.1 I have 7 64 bit I wiped p drive out after saving map and bits I also gave a fresh install to 7 Then installed game and patches run the new bitool2.5.1 not the 2.5 as it crashed then I run the arma2p exe and all went well this time even got the wrp folder with the ca configs in 1st time I have seen that with the tool as normally had to use the xcopy bat The tools look right I just used the highest version number for each when dl from devheaven sorry mate I know how frustrating this can be as its been a pain from day 1 up untill bis and mikero got the latest tools out Not sure if i helped you but if you need anything you have my pm mate

    @ Gnat thank's mate it means a lot just sorted the new bi tools out and mikero has arma2p for the new tools to work with the bi 1s so all is good. And it has stopped a crash I was getting lately of out of memory since I got a new gfx card a week ago so ill be completing it in the next couple weeks just got to tidy the mask up add some more clutter and maybe some more textures and im there. @ Xanton thank's and yours looks cool to mate well done mate

    Hi all I have a ctd Out of memory footprint to small that has just started to happen I will start from the beginning I was on vista with q6600 Intel Asus Maximus Formula 2 4gb ram sd hard drive only vista and arma2 and OA baf pmc installed. No overlocking has been done I am running on a ati hd 5770 I have spent four months building a map and all has been good when I have tested on server and my machine no ctds at all I am on patch 159 oa and beta as well latest as I always use betas I bought a new gfx card Ati hd 6970 2gb ram when i first Installed the card updated drivers and went to test arma2 to see the difference and when i loaded my map in editor I now constantly get a ctd as above my son has my old card and doesnt ctd on this map. So I thought that maybe the game and vista needed a fresh install so I went and upgraded to 7 64 bit loaded all drivers and Arma2 and OA and Dl's so thought now its fresh all would be good but I still get the same CTD as before. Has any 1 had the same as its destroying my game and stopping me carrying on the Sangin map its not only happening on my map but when im in a mission with my clan it's also now takistan and cheranus that ctd aswell. I have tried view distance changes and all gfx settings maxed and min and it still CTD's I have looked in the oa rpt and see nothing. I have seen this error before in visitor 3 when I 1st started making maps i put clutter on the map too much and then got this same error so deleted the models and it stopped but in my latest map only clutter is generated by the config for what texture is named so I know it's not that please if any 1 has any advice on the matter Thanks SmokeDog
