Since I have not been able to work from a car accident this is my boredom killer it has kept me occupied day in day out for the last 3 years making islands and now addons I do it just to learn how things work and to make and create content I would like in game when its of a standard i am happy with it will be released till then its just what I use in the editor for testing . I will still be modding for a2 and a3 as when the official patch comes out im sure most people will use the joined a2\a3 patch so most old addons will be used with the new content. Don't forget most of the tutorials and post in the forums for information come from the guys that had to start out with no information on how to make stuff for this game series so thanks to them it made it a lot easier for me to get in on the enjoyment and frustration of addon making.

  3. cheers max just seems silly this late in the day to have the errors still in the models just have to do some more reading on the forums. Bit of progress now I now have the first hat in game the 1st model i used just would not work it was a hat and neck scarf maybe it was fubarred but i just threw the 2nd hat in the template and it went in straight away. can i get some info for adding neck scarfs and face mask and back packs please as not sure how to go about it will the back packs use the back pack proxy that dk released for the a2 units example or are a3 units different http://i41.tinypic.com/15ovwol.jpg (425 kB) cheers all

Cheers 12th ill give it another go seems i am having nothing but trouble of late spent all day making taliban units from the 2 arma2 sample models and they don't work either lolshow in game but the us soldier has no head and the russian crashes the pc with no alteration to it. sure ill get there

I'm getting this error too my hat sits in my waist I have used the a3 template I copied my model in named it Head in named selections named it camo too and also named it talibhat i have checked to see that in geo it is named autocentre 0. I am not sure what I can do as its the template I used and its set the same as the baseball cap example can't see any difference from how its named to how mine is all looks ok when i go in game it does not go on my head for some thing so easy don't know where I am failing.

    guess you were the lucky one's as a lot of what ive read and watched for uk troops some times you can't get resups in for food water and ammo for hours\days when in those pb's as stated here too http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2006/sep/17/military.afghanistan but lets get back on topic a3 soldiers are smaller than a2 soldiers look better toned but smaller

    well i guess the documentary's ive watched are all faked then there's plenty out there that show a tour from start to finish and no the guys don't look the same as they did going out to afghan. quote from mail online ‘On average my troop gives away half of every ration pack.     a3 soldiers are smaller than a1 a2 soldiers look here in oxygen a1 king right side a1 civ then a2 soldier then a3 soldier on the left they are thinner when i overlapped them 1 on top of the other http://i43.tinypic.com/1z1uude.jpg (148 kB) soldiers may look fit and well going into afghan but after a couple of months on ration packs and with the weather factor and daily patrols and soon takes the weight off em and makes em skinny

    ai and the paths would need to be set to avoid the furniture take a look at how many postion's the arma1 hotel has loads of em for ai to use you would just have to avoid putting in a path near the object defo bigger floor plans in houses = less collisions
  10. have you set your gfx options for bulldozer up like you do in game as bulldozer does have settings worth a check think its f1 when bulldozer is open brings up a menu set all to high same as in game.

    with the furinture i think a lot of houses were way to small in arma\2 so having an item or 2 could be a problem for movement in those buildings but to not have any in a house means no cover for cqc, just a table on its side near a corner gives cover and plenty of room to move. There are plenty of models cookers fridges washing machine beds couch to be had from the sample models to make it half lived in all with geo lods ready to go or just proxy them in like a lot of a1 buildings.

  14. hi was using beta version of a3 today then went back in steam and ticked the non dev build and restarted my pc steam updated and after i went to use the devbuild and the option has gone from steam menu meaning i have 3 servers to chose from as most servers are running dev build any got this too, can some community members check their steam options for the devbuild and confirm that it has or has not for them cheers smoke

    Arma III is very laggy

    one of our gu members spent 4k on a rig says it plays fine maxed out lol dual titans watercooled asus extreme 5 mobo and a 2011 cpu unlocked 32gb ram kickin out on six cores. I was getting 60fps with my asus extreme3 i7 @3.1 sd hard drive and 12gb ram x2 ati 6970 runs on ultra with high view and object, seems random to what parts you have to the results you get in game in my view a3 runs more smoothly than a2 ever did and looks better and has 2000m more on the view distance to play with. You cant compare an arcade game with a milsim full stop.

    no steam updates today so another day of no devbuild on my steam properties what is going on with steam taking it away from being used, is it worth me uninstalling steam and re installing it. daze there is no option to opt in or out of devbuild I am stuck with just the stable release.

  22. @ gnat well said mate if any one wishes to use any of my addons\islands in a3 your more than welcome to copy and paste them in ,I can't say port them as nothing has been altered to get them to work

When the rearmed patch was released for Toh and Hinds it merged all A2 and OA models into Toh I think it was config changes as for them to redo all models to work on the new skeleton system would take a while, also all the community addon units worked too and none of them were edited to make them work by the authors if you see what i mean i just added the mod line and they worked on Toh with the rearmed patch so there must be a way round it by config changes to skeletons or maybe a pluggin to allow the older units to work along the new ones on the new engine allowing them not to conflict.

    toh has not many enterable models so the skyscrapers are just boxes in the geo lod simple and easy way but shit if you want to use them for anything other than scenery . open up the arma sample models will give you a look of how its done.
