  1. thanks lots, man. it will be amazing in Arma3. One of the best news ever!
  2. Mate, you made, probably, one of the best Islands ever created in my humble opinion. Second to none. If you ever come to London you will be rewarded with some beers for sure. Thanks hips to you Sir, and to all of the other Island makers. And also to all general addon makers who in occasions contributed to make our lives more bearable.

Death Match 4, Players + AI

Murcielago always surprising us with some of the best developed missions for the Arma series, and always full of new details and features. Great work, like always. Looking forward for the next surprise.:don 14:
  5. all afghan/middle east themed islands, in particular helmand, sangin province map :)
  6. To be honest there are so many small pieces of info scattered around these forums, that is not very motivating to put all the required info together for a newbie. It would be awesome if BI produced a complete DVD (or series) for sale with all these resources, video tutorials on how to use BI tools step by step, end efficiently, etc. Thousands would buy it for sure and it would help them getting more people into the game, as more and more content and ideas would be constantly added. Everyone would benefit from it. I guess they would sell this more than the game itself. It would also help them produce and find new latent talents ;) Or perhaps a BI academy online with some instructors (which might be people already modding islands, units, vehicles, mission making, creating videos for intros, etc who are not employed) ;)

    ARMA 3 Addon Request Thread

What about a Max Mad or Waterwold style mod? kind of day Z, or wasteland on a big apocalyptic island/s, with plenty of home-made armored vehicles, buggies, boats, limited ammo, weapons, food, clean water supplies, etc and different clans or tribes? (or to play solo) that would be awesome ;)
  8. How can automatic mine detection be inactivated for AI? It is annoying hearing that: "I can see a mine" "I see a mine" "mee too sees the mine".... It would be nice if mines could be only detected by those using specific tools to detect mines, not by anyone walking close to one. IN addition, is there in MP a possible way to make mines and IEDs undetectable visually? In arma 2 I only saw them associated to objects like dogs, rubbish, satchels etc. thanks in advance, and sorry if this has been discussed in other threads :)

    Mine detection

thanks man, will give it a try
  10. Yes, fanboys ruin everything. They say "developer...take my money...". As a consequence, developers become lazy, stop listening to customers. They do not need to work hard to earn their bread, and slowly the game evolves to accomodate the desires of current and future fanbabies. I want this hatchet,... can we get killstreak system?...in the meantime developers abandom their values slowly and become profit-oriented,and consequently start many different projects, so they do not concentrate on their main product, but on space crafts and helicopters, the later of which could be implemented within their main commercial game easily... Anyways, this Developer, BI, still produces the best game in the market. Hope i am wrong, and their initial spirit never disappears ;)
  11. I do not see the game extremely futuristic, but i do agree that the map does not fit the arma series at all. It is like being on holiday and suddenly getting up from a hammock in the beach, get a gun and go to fight strange iranians with odd insect style glasses. Hope someone creates a real conflict scenario map :)
  12. I also felt the same as the author of the post, but in my case it happened when moving from the initial Op flashpoint (cold war assault :) to the arma series. ANd, still remember that feeling while being hidden in a bush and hearing a tank looking for you a few meters away (niinii niinii nniiiinnii nniinni inniii...), turning and coming back, almost driving over your body... that was the fear factor.

[SP] For The Life Of A Friend

Hi, After installing the mission, i appeared in a kind of desert with people and randon object separated. Afterthis a guy comes shooting and kills me all the time after talking to my boss... Then i try an older version i was having already installed. I need to do something with some boxes at the beginning, but all i am allowed to do is lifting them and take them somehwere else. Wherever i put them i get a message telling that there is no space for the boxes.... I cannot find any instructions or tips. What can i do? :( Please help.

    ARMA3 banned in Iran

Funny banning a game that can be used to beat some dirty Westerner arses (if you want and design your own mission to do so). Give an Iranian person a videogame and he/she will beat dirty westerner's arse for 1 day. Give him/her a free copy of an ArmA title and he/she will beat westerner's arse forever ;) Persian Proverb

    Is Arma 3 authentic?

Iranians are very good at making copies of everything, like chinese. Months ago Iranian computer engineers landed a top secret american drone, while american drone controllers thought the plane was landing at their base in Pakistan. Nowadays Iran has probably hundreds of copies. Why not reverse-engineer their enemy tanks. ;) ---------- Post added at 10:30 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:27 AM ---------- by the way there is no autenticity in that video. 90% of combat footage of the americans is fake, and staged to show of with girlfriends and mates back home ;)
  18. The Mission editor in ArmA games allows for any sort of equilibrium desired. This game would be "nothing" without the possibility to play assymetric warfare, like often happens in real wars. In my opinion, the possibility to play as OPFOR guerrilla faction is what makes this game funny. Studying the enemy capabilities, equipment, joining forces with other half a dozen men strong factions for an assault on powerful objectives. Striking with powerful IEDs against a formidably armored vehicle column and hidding in a forest afterwards, or scaping from the expected overwhelming "hunt", running, by bike, or motorbike, and re-gathering in a safe place. In the meantime they look for you with helicopters equiped with night vision tech, that can see your white silhouete from miles away. Being able to defeat them despite their technological advantage, that is what brings the satisfaction in ArmA. The feeling of fear hidden under a bush with the hope of not being seen by a closeby enemy tank, but hearing it very close to you, almost over you, like in the old operation flashpoint days. This is realism. That is why i think ArmA needs to continue being a flexible game, so the mission designer can choose whatever they like. You can create a mission and choose the number of units, vehible, etc. Perhaps a possibility to choose weapons easily might help to make PvP or TvT more appealing to some players, but their commnader might need to check that they are adequate for the mission :)
  19. I believe people should stop being so demanding and have some patience. There are thousands of people, like myself, who are waiting to know all the possibilities the game can provide before deciding if buying it or not. I can imagine some spoiled kiddies, with a chilli inside their asre waiting in the queue to buy this game on release to be the first to post videos on youtube, like they did with Modern Warfare X Developers want to sell games. The sooner they release all top secret info, the sooner they get what they want. Our money (if deserved). They are new developers, they will learn soon ;) Regards Borzi

    Any interesting books to recommend?

As an OPFOR guy and asymmetric warfare fan in BI simulations, I would recommend: "La guerra de guerrillas" (Guerrilla warfare). Ernesto (che) Guevara de la Serna. This is the real life "Dslyecxi's guide" for 3rd world OPFOR faction fans, possible link: http://torrentz.eu/df6308938c9a7c1ed67e7822d074f4baf6043ea1 "Guerrilla warfare" by Mao tse tung https://ronna-afghan.harmonieweb.org/CTCA/Shared%20Documents/Mao%20Tse-Tung%20-%20On%20Guerilla%20Warfare%20-%20FMFRP%2012-18.pdf And remember, deceased Communist pals do not give a damn if you download their teachings without paying author rights ;) so keep searching if the links do not take you to the right place.

The trouble with getting people into Arma

So it seems that many people has to play ArmA games with strangers because their 10 gaming friends from the neighbourhood do not want to play arma after trying it. Furthermore, I have even bought a copy of ArmA2 for several of my friends to try to convince them, but they do not want to play. In my case i believe it is the lack of user-friendliness of the game. None of my friends want to get a PhD in Arma management to be able to play sometimes. The inability to download mods and updates automatically (if you press "yes, download the new version") as you are joining a server. There is no doubt that Arma games are the best ever and everything should remain as it is, otherwise it would not be ArmA, but BIS should think about making the management of the game easy for those not skilled or those who do not have the time to read forums for hours daily. We do not want COD kiddies playing, just being able to play with our friends,. WHo knows, maybe among them we have another hidden sickboy or sickgirl! It is true that many skilled people have kindly made tools to update the game, the mods, etc, and we really appreciate this, however the use of these tools is still too complicated. If BIS does something about it i trully believe all the friends of each one of their customers and fans would buy ArmA3. BIS are good guys, but ArmA is also a business and has to feed staff. And something else. Many of us, who do not have the editing skills despite reading hours of forums everyday would pay for and Advanced editing DVD course via video tutorials, manuals, etc. Since Arma is mainly the editor, and for many a hobbie (as stated above by someone) this should be more profitable than the game itself. Kind regards and thanks. Borz
