  1. Yeah I hit a snag also with little cover. It seems the Taliban have NV goggles as there is no way around the jeep gunner. The weapons loadout could be a bit more deltalike with nade launchers. But then again Delta would never go on this kind of mission. This is a grunt mission which case they would send in a platoon with heavy weapons. Either way if its a stealth mission the jeep gunner needs to have normal vision and not bionic infrared. Real world would have already had a predator taking out the jeep before the insertion, plus Delta runs 6 man teams. But wouldnt use less than 12 on this kind of grunt style attack. There would also be two teams of overwatch snipers on both sides of the hills. Remember the Taliban stink as fighters and would never repeat never attack they like to hide in the shadows and wait for you to pass by them, they also like tripwires everywhere, mines and alot of morters. Of course this could be the navy seal Taliban who has NV and attacks.

    Do you have a link that doesnt take us to a website that spams us to death in a foreign language?     I havent found one T-72 unless it pops up in harder skill levels. In the non ACE versions the M1-A1 is not even needed unless T-72's appear. Given that Ft. Campbell is home for the M1-A1 everyone here is chomping at the bit to use that weapons platform at its fullest nastiest earliest opportunity. Side note I havent found one good tank scenario out of all the scenarios. I agree with you in playing MP games maybe some of the features should be turned off however we use it in SP mode so we have zero lagg issues. I will check out your suggestion, given that im lazy I wanted it already setup for me. Some of what is out there is close to what im looking for but it has operational problems that if fixed could benefit everyone. I would be interested to know if anyone thinks that Mullahs should have dragon or even stinger missiles when as we know they dont exist in Afganistan or Iraq or any middle eastern country except for three and we are not currently fighting against them as they are allies. Now if the sprites were say russian commandos or even splinter former warsawpact fighters then by all means bring on the SA-6 and more advanced weapons. Given the problem of equiping Mullahs with guided missiles we have excepted it but want to at least give them weapons they might be able to obtain not american made missiles they have zero chance of getting. There is not a single Stinger missile in Afganistan or Iraq now. You cannot even fire a stolen dragon or tow missile so that precludes the enemy from even stealing one and firing it. Some people have argued that even a hind helicopter is wrong but in my opinion its ok as the pakistani army flies for Taliban given enough money. Hey my 2cents but its an easy fix to get it correct. The soviet versions of many weapons while less sophisticated are quite fine weapons. The RPG-7 deminstrates that you dont have to have computers in a weapon in order to kill someone, and it has done that extremly well over the years.

    Has anyone noticed that in SP the save games get corrupted? When resuming a save game the move keys dont work anymore. In any version?

    I dont have a server control button just the skill level (recruit, regular,etc) would this even make the changes perminent? Or just for that particular days gaming. I have to make these changes, dead bodies, vehicles disappearing and change some of the weapons authenticity to be more realistic because most of the people im dealing with can hardly use windows let alone the parameters screen. While I dont mind being flown in to Kentucky every week to explain these scenarios I dont want to end up living there on a constant basis if you know what I mean Kentucky is not Vegas. I have an expense account that could pay someone to reprogram the parameters to a more perminent basis the way I need it to be. At the very least I can get you into a real M1 tank for some live fire playtime. The weapons changes would be easy its based on actual weapons tests published by the Army. Things like range, accuracy, down time, and maintenance issues like fire to refit times (how long you can fire the weapon till you have to repair it) this is mostly for vehicles but some mounted weapons require much more maintenance than their always functional status in this game.

    The mods you need to make your scenario run dont include any readme files so how do you know what @name to make them they dont show up in my launcher? like Desert SU-34 doesnt show up or the chenowth and about 4 other files? What gives?

    How do you change the parameters the fields dont change? In the commanding menu. I want to fix the soldiers removing themselves from the battlefield as well as vehicles.

I too have noticed the COA error when trying the game if you deselect it in your launcher the game will not even run. You can play the game fine with the error, seems somewhat stable Ive only encountered a couple of errors with save games but all in all seems to work.
  10. Ah I figured it out you have to click on a base but if you dont own a base then you must click on the last spawn area.
  11. How do you respawn or even end the game. Everytime I try to restart it continues on with the previous game which of course I cannot play because I cannot figure out how to respawn???? You click on the respawn button and nothing happens? Also why is the enemy at the beginning of the game already in your first bases? Seems kinda goofy as most meeting engagements start at the center of the map. I have yet to see any allies or friends well maybe thats because I cannot figure out how to start the game. Would you recommend deleting this game and reinstalling it to reset and start over as there doesnt seem to be a restart button.

    Why does this scenario have to autoload? Why cant players select it from the scenario menu that way we can use a launcher to load the required @uns mod. As my ARMAII icon doesnt have any mods attached to it. How can you load this game in the scenario main menu?

    Hey can you make the game not have to be autoloaded? I would rather selected it from the menu system. As its hard for me to remember this game and find it. Im also getting a termination error immediately the mission fails in the first second and kicks me out to the scenario load menu. The error says I failed the mission and everyone died then kicks me out no way to restart or even load the scenario from the main scenario menu.
  15. I get an error trying to load the game says: "no player selected" then crashes to the scenario main menu. I selected my normal alais any thoughts never seen this error before.
  16. Well that fixed some of the problems I was not running the latest beta just the latest version 1.57. I still get the script_eventhandlers.hpp error which is fatal even though there is a file there. I tried deleting the file and redownloading it from the yoma updater (I gave up on sixupdater I cannot figure it out) but this hasnt fixed my problem. Something is goofy somewhere but for the life of me I cannot figure it out. I read in some post you had to copy this file from the \store area and remove the existing script_eventhandler.hpp I tried that but nothing helped. Weeee© I found another user with the same problem I needed the 7-7 version of @ca which has slightly different script_eventhandlers.hpp so now im ready for my next error.
  17. Yeah there are some great people out there. Im trying to figure out this old error that seems to have been from last year (ace_anims requiring 1.56) what I dont get from all the links is what file your suppost to delete or run? I deleted all the ace_anims and used the fantastic yoma addonsync to download the latest version yet I still get the error. Im using OA but I have read that something left over from regular arma II is the problem. I also get a fatal error saying x\cba\addons\main\script_eventhandlers.hpp missing. Although this file is there in the correct directory. Would this mean the file is corrupt? Any thoughts? im running ARMA II Launcher 3.1.1 with everything checked for mods (there are many). One person suggested to another person with the same errors to use the command line parameter and avoid the launcher.
  18. Well Im running .24.12 version it was so hard to find in the first place so I dont know if im running the latest version. It looks different compared to some of the videos. I was able to find a different program that worked with an excellent video on youtube its called addon sync 2009 this program downloaded everything for me and even removed the old files automatically but more importantly it gave me the option of downloading one two or all the files something I didnt have with six. Now all I have to figure out is which program I have to delete with respects to an error saying "addon ace_anims requires 1.56" the game works but im sure something isnt working and im running an old version of ACE_anims but do you know the name of the file im suppost to be deleting?

I have read your manual and it says nothing of how to install @ace mods on my screen the @ace under to be checked says None now it should as I understand it tell me how many files it has updated. I have also figured out by trial and error that if you click on the type in areas over near action server and setting you can get information typed into these boxes yet the manual says nothing at all about these functions and I have no clue what they do. If my program has installed incorrectly how would I know this except for you telling me this? I dont recall anything saying to you want to delete your old mod folder? Are you saying I should uninstall and reinstall? Or is there another program I should also be running that im not currently? You say its a one click solution what im asking is what button are you clicking you see thats not in the manual either. What button? Execute? Currently this does nothing but tries to update the @acex RU and @acex USNAVY which of course is up to date so nothing gets done. I think the program is skipping the @ace although last night it downloaded about 4 hours worth of mods and scenarios so clearly it downloaded something by me just clicking away at buttons. But of course the menu system doesnt say anything different and currently shows no mods for @ace. So im confused. I looked at your version 2.0 wow does it look complex yet its the same if I wanted to download one mod I dont see a way to do it. On a line where a mod say @isla_duala I see disabled skip BUT NO DOWNLOAD BUTTON or install. How does one get a single mod you see this is my problem in my case I cannot get any mods that I want as I have no download or install button. I guess the color coding is to tell the user how many files are available by that mode such as @ags would this bar decrease if you installed all the mods from that section? Im also not a big fan of one click installation I would rather select what I want then download it or have a button that selects everything for me but does not automatically download it for many reasons. I think its a waste of time to download files you already have but the program doesnt see. As a new user looking at both 1.0 and 2.0 its very very confusing hense the need for a manual. ---------- Post added at 01:13 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:03 PM ---------- How do you download @ace files within six updater suite. I read the manual and it says nothing about the process. My @ace says None next to it and no way to select specific mod files to download as there is no download button. The author of the software seems to think it installed incorrectly but how can I tell as I cannot figure the program out. Is there a 2nd manual written for people who cannot figure out the first manual? Ok I found some more information out watching a short video that shows some of the operation im currently running .24.12 which I got yesturday jan 05, 2011 the video contains features I dont have like sync at the bottom could be an oldier video anyway the video doesnt show the end result on the process so its hard to see if the @ace directory actually gets filled and the status screen goes from NONE to a number.
  20. You know after thinking about it maybe my wording was a bit harsh. I have downloaded the six updater manual and whoa its hard to figure out. The using part says NOTHING about how to use it. Simply says hit execute well you do that and nothing really happens my @ace doesnt change still says under current "none" and nothing really tells you how to download files when you click and get the 2nd list showing many many files there is no way to download them at least that I can find. I see edit delete show clone no download or install. Double clicking on things just brings up more menus that do little or nothing. I also dont like the auto start the game after every download which to me seems like a bug. ARMA takes a couple of minutes to load just to get more errors like missing files. Now I see stop game which works but shouldnt it be the other way around? Load when user tells you to and not before. Im just now learning you have to remove old files if these files are known couldnt the updater do that for us? I have no idea which files to keep and which to delete as I suspect many others. Friends of mine are so scared of this program they wont even load it because there is no real manual even a synapsis of what the program is trying to accomplish and how its going to do that.
  21. Wow thanks for the link, the ace pages are hard to figure out. KISS is the best method. I must have clicked on 15 difference links and no downloads of ace 1.7. I wonder if the ACE team should work on their links skills?

    Mission Support System [ACE]

    Many of the scenarios dont include a save game function and these scenarios especially some of the I44 mods last for hours. Arma II is not stable enough to go that long without a single save nor is my ability enough to last that long. Is there a way to mod the scenario to allow save games? Otherwise these great games at least for me cannot be played.

    yeah well I think the opening scene should have a skip option. Im not very good at Arma and cannot get through it. Not sure what the point of being an unarmed militia policeman driving a car through I guess enemy territory. I have GTA I want to kill people with massive weapons. This environment can allow so much more and well sorry this is the mission you create a guy in a crappy eastern european car driving for his life?? I cannot rate the rest of the campaign as I cannot get through it always die at the burning bus. Any other way and you die kinda pointless.     Wow crazy autoload sequence. Ok im all for convience but thats rediculous. With it autoloading you cannot fix any of the load errors or even skip the commercials. Worst yet you cannot continue once you leave the game???
