Why are we discussing something that has no actual DEV quote and is probably made up bullshit?

Guys we have a rule of thumb on the PR forums. Unless you have a direct quote from a DEV treat it as utter bullshit.

http://www.realitymod.com/forum/f380-project-reality-news/98008-update-pr-arma2-highlights-reel-5-a.html Check the "British Army Soldier" section and "What does it mean to the Community?" Mainly point 1:

I play, and still play PR:BF2 for the last 4 years. If you have been waiting on rumours then that's your own problem to be fair. Eitherway, its not vaporware

    2 Years? http://www.realitymod.com/forum/f380-project-reality-news/77777-update-project-reality-arma2.html "03-12-2010" (american dates, 1 year, 3 months) :j:

PR:BF2 Deviation = weapon sway, ArmA has weapon sway so PR:ArmA will not have excessive deviation like PR:BF2.

The PR team have numerous military personnel who's sole purpose is advise the team on matters such as this, assume with ArmA's more flexible engine that a more realistic system (if any system at all on this subject) is implemented.

PRs decision to completely remove ability to use them was because most if not all of what you said is not possible to implement in BF2 , and as i said if some sort of system does come to ArmA assume it will be more complex and realistic like you have suggested. PMCs wont be PR:ArmAs goal for a long time, if ever. expect focus on other teams first. Though some community members are making a faction to implement into PR:BF2.

The PR team recently released the change log for the PR:BF2, in this they removed the ability to use "special" kits (MG's, heavy AT, snipers etc). Here is why: http://www.realitymod.com/forum/f196-pr-highlights/88565-changelog-project-reality-v0-95-features-list-18.html#post1462396 Now of course, this does not mean Arma will have the same type or any system at all like this, but it gives you an idea of the PR management teams thinking on the subject.

Not PR:ArmA specific, but for those who dont read the PR forums all the time: http://www.realitymod.com/forum/f380-project-reality-news/88000-initial-results-pr-soundtrip-2010-a.html

DaSquade you are talking about the AT4-CS (confined space) , uses salt water as a counter balance which means it can be fired in... well, confined spaces. As for the FGM-172 SRAW, it can be fired in confined spaces: http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/land/sraw.htm (source) the soft launch allows it to be fired in rooms.

No one has confirmed or denied whether or not the DEVs are going to implement a "bf2 style" pick up system where you pick up the whole kit (and tbh, its very unlikely they will)

    Project Reality - WIP Discussion

well im not sure about the DEVs ideas on picking up stuff. but im sure you are aware that picking up all or nothing in bf2 is an engine limitation, as far as i know anyways.
