  1. Since Windows has a limit in targetline length, I started looking for solutions for people willing to launch Combined Operations with a bunch of other addons. So I had to find a way to create alternate types of shortcuts. One of them was dynamically creating a EXE format shortcut with the sourcecode below. It is very easy to use as it's in C#. http://www19.zippyshare.com/v/29063126/file.html One other alternate method was writing batch files. But for the not so smart people You have to make an alternative right? Which does it for them. An exe file has to be compiled. But as most of you don't own Visual Studio for example, the source code above would compile it with the arguments you enter with the launcher you create. There should be no moddifications made in the source code above. Below I will enter the source code for creating a batch file with your launcher. Which will load your game. Even if it's a beta patch! The result written is this: This will make a funny countdown and will give you 5 seconds to shut down stuff. Well source code is below: Well as you see I used checkboxed and many other Framework goodness. If you wonder what the ping stuff is doing there, it is just a way of letting the batch file sleep for 1 second for example before printing the next text. If you use this credit me but feel to use it the way you want. Can be edited BATCH DISADVANTAGES Difficult to understand how to write yourself (this is why I made this code above) EXE ADVANTAGES It can't be edited, so you can't screw it up EXE DISADVANTAGES It van't be edited, you you have to load your launcher every time if you wan't to make a change Good luck!

  3. What is the best settings anyone get out of OFP? I expect to run the game on maximum settings, but then it stutters like hell has broken lose. I have like 4GB RAM, Q6600 and 260 GTX. There are two good renderers HW T&L or the D3D. Which one should I pick?
  4. Notebook Q9000 @ 2.0GHz - HD4650 - 5400RPM HDD Desktop Q6600 @ 3.0 GHz - 260GTX 650/1400/1100 - 10000RPM HDD I am talking about HD4650 mobility version and the 260GTX desktop version here. First of all, I am able to play ArmA 1 maxed out completely on a HD4650. Which makes totally no sense, while this card is not able to play ArmA 2 properly. Then you have my 260GTX from gigabyte, which is an OC edition, that card can play ArmA 1 on decent settings, but I have to disable grass. While the HD4650 can enable everything maxed out. The 4650 is NOT able to play ArmA 2 which makes no sense, while the 260GTX can play it on the same settings as ArmA 1 with grass and shadows disabled. So, what is wrong here?
  5. I wonder what advantages and disadvantages are of each renderer. I was simply putting everything maxed out, but it stutters so badly when turning that it is unplayable. Let,s say that a 1 Gb VideoRAM becomes worthless in this game. I was looking for a secret beta patch which would improve the flashpoint engine. But it simply doesn´t exist. I believe Ghost Recon is also a game which suffers from this stuttering issue.

    Even if COD becomes free I would never buy it. Maybe I will buy thousands when burning (setting on fire) CDs like wood will become legal. Maybe we should nuke Electronic Arts to be happy?

  10. Call of Duty makes me sick. Reason I don't play it is that they release new CoD every year. And the first game I bought was full of hackers. If you want to recycle your code, look at Valve. If you look closely, they recycle everything they make. The Jockey from l4d2 has become a infestation parasite in alien swarm. The medigen from tf2 also went to Alien swarm. Anyway, valve is pretty much dying, but they dominate the world in a elegant way with unique games full of kids. Counter Strike became boring because of the low quality community made maps, which makes me feel sick playing them. Not to mention the awful badscaled models. Well anyway, I liked the zombiemod. For those who don't want CoD 7, go Medal of Honor, the new one is promising. I was beta tester. it's much more fun, and graphics are better.
  11. I wish for Christmas that the U.S. stops playing policeman in the world. They have been playing the world at least since WW2. In my opinion that country is more dangerous than Iraq. In every war there is on the world there is at least one American involved. I might maybe better watch my words, but everyone in here knows it is the truth. We even learn it at school. But on the other side I would be proud to be an American. Everything you need is there.
  12. It is developed in the same studio, wait did I just hear a reason why I shouldn't buy it? OFDR doesn't require serial, doesn't have anti-cheat, nor does it have dedicated server. I hope they are doing the right thing. They disappointed me with OFDR. It was really a waste of money. Thank god for giving me ArmA 2. :) Another reason why I didn't like OFDR was because of the bad cheesy sounds. Even OFP1 guns sound better in their 22.4khz format :D

  14. Where are the plants defined? I would think in a config.cpp file, but there is no such thing. So how do I point it to my lower poly models then? EDIT: found a solution, which is hex editing the wrp files (chernarus itself), isn't that illegal as well or seen as cheating? I know PROPER has his low visuals plants, but the plants still look as good as before...
  15. Is it possible to hex edit the pixel and vertex shaders of Super so it doesn't go through all the stages? I would more likely do it this way so I don't have to edit every rvmat file in the universe. whatcha think guys?

  17. Title says it all... What is difference between D3D9 and D3D9EX from Vista? Why -winxp? Is it ONLY meant to enable SLI? or does it do good stuff also?
  18. I was thinking just the same thing... Pretty funny actually :bounce3: I can't overclock my card further. If I do it will jump in low power mode :/ even voltage modding screws up.

Disable Hyperthreading -cpuCount=8 buy nvidia if you can (i know high power usage and temps, but still they perform good) www.disktrix.com try ultimate defrag 2008 to put arrowhead on the best side of your hard disk. it will take time to configure the program, but you will be rewarded like me. And you will save some cpu time when it is looking for textures or something. Maybe get the trial first. I would never buy it because that program has worst support ever. But it works like a charm, but if you have problems with it, don't expect to get help.
  20. Go to the dialog where you define your controls. There should be a slider saying 'mouse smoothing' slide it all the way to the left. or go to your profile config: mousesmoothing = 0
  21. I have Q6600 @3.0 ghz, and 260 GTX Gigabyte OC. I got a uber tweaked windows 7 which is now really barebones, and has barely services or visual blings enabled. I have a 10.000 RPM hard drive with Ultimate Defrag 2008 putting ArmA 2 on the edge of my disk for uber performance loading speed. (this really makes difference trust me) Is there a solution for the crappy vegetation? When looking at trees and stuff my FPS drops to 10-25. Usually it is around 30-50 which is pretty good, since I play on high settings. Or zooming in with a scope also makes your FPS drop... Of course there is the PROPER VEGETATION LOW VISUALS, dead3yez fps helper. But I don't want to make my game look like crap. I want nice eye-killing texture detail, without all those unneeded FX. I don't need glass or metal reflection! Now my question is if there is a solution for myself being so difficult
  22. You can do it with a tracer line. Look at the way how tracers are done. They have onlyInNvg = 1 but that should give you idea how to do it.
  23. I added this to my mod: class cfgPatches{ class testPbo{ ... // does not matter at the moment }; }; class CfgSettings{ class PREFIX{ #include "\userconfig\test\test_clientside_config.hpp" }; }; Now it is failing the preprocessor on gamelaunch.
  24. Ok I did it the way you said, and then I did it with binpbo without binarizing. I put the files in place, and then i made userconfig\test\test_clientside_config.hpp Then I launched my game and I got error message: Pre-processing failed! I don't know what's happening, I did it before, just don't get it why it's not working now...
  25. I will try Eliteness. I thought making a file '$NOBIN$' would maybe also help but it doesn't I am going to try eliteness
