There has been no update yet. As discussed over the past few pages of this thread; the issue isn't with the rifle, but the magazine. Answers to problems are still being sought.

Thanks for the update, Ardy. Issues or not, it's difficult to convince myself to use a different rifle.

Unless it's scripted otherwise, you cannot wear the uniform of another faction. In other words, BLUE can only wear BLUE uniforms, GREEN can only wear GREEN uniforms, and RED can only wear RED uniforms. -
I'm sure he'll appreciate someone else working on the configs. I don't think he's ever enjoyed that aspect of modding for Arma. I just want to make sure it's all done right according to common mentality with permissions and whatnot. I know this community takes these things very seriously.

I don't mean to sound rude, if I do, but do you have Ardy's permission to release this on his thread? I know he's talked about having people send him config's, sounds, etc.

I don't know how it works for you, but when I use VAS there are tracer mags at the very bottom of the magazine list that function with the MK18. Green and red, at the very least.

I know of one or two people who have had this issue. I think it has something to do with server latency / desync. Dedicated servers may support the best connection, but there's always a difference in where an object is according to the server and where it is according to the client. I've watched a friend shoot a target and miss from my screen (local server) and hit every time on his screen. In the end, though, the recoil is so amazing on these rifles that it should be a joy to fire them more. :D

The only time I need to put more than two shots into an enemy to drop them is when the weapon is suppressed, but that is the case even with BIS' MX rifles. 9 out of 10 times, it only takes two for me at anything but very long range.

I don't think custom sounds will be part of the next release. I don't quite understand the appeal of them, honestly. The current MX sound, both suppressed and unsuppressed, isn't bad. They're a far cry better than a lot of the Hollywood gunshot noises I hear in some sound packs, for sure. That said; recoil will be fixed and iron sights will be usable amongst other changes and fixes to the best of my knowledge.

The latest build throws a lot of errors as soon as the main menu is loaded. All it says for the Dev changelog is they're aware of it. They don't actually give a changelog. -

I believe the latest DEV build broke VAS. It now tells me "VAS never initialized. Something went wrong?" upon any attempt to use the system. These missions worked fine yesterday and I haven't changed a thing. -

Player honesty? Open config.sqf in the VAS folder and you'll find an example of how to restrict things. I do not believe it is currently possible to restrict certain amounts of anything without restricting the object itself. (i.e. you can't restrict people to having five blue smoke grenades, but you can restrict blue smoke grenades completely) -

I think the damage is inherited from BIS' 5.56 rifles. The SDAR and Mk20 also require two or more shots to take anything down. Usually. Of course, I could be wrong.

Please, please, please move that AFG forward on the rail. Placing it at a mid-point defeats its purpose, I think. This may sound ridiculous (because it sort of is), but that's the reason I will not use the full-length MX if I can help it. The front tip of the AFG should be in line with the end of the rail near the muzzle. And to clarify: this post should be read as an opinion and not a final word in weapons handling. Other than that one nit-pick - Beautiful work!

Great units, Alex! I'm really looking forward to fighting with/against them. On a side note: in the first mission of MGS4, Otacon states that neither side of the battle is Snake's enemy. Snake was basically tracking down Ocelot in the middle of a battlefield for which he had little to no part. This was the case for the second mission (South America) as well. Considering this, would it be more accurate to have them set to the Independent faction instead of Opfor? This way, their loyalties could swing to whomever has the larger bank account. -

The folder is called "VAS" and it will have everything it needs inside of it except a description.ext, but it doesn't go in there anyway.
