Weird. It works fine for me on Win7.

I think that making 1.99 and 1.96 compatible might be difficult due to differencies in files. The situation requires urgent actions from Bohemia because the current situation harms all and each of us, mainly new players who try to play this game online and can't find any populated servers.

1.99 fixes Vista and Windows7 double mouse cursor bug and gamma problems. Nevertheless, BIS should encourage people to move on to 1.99 by adding some new content, commands and enhancements. It is in our common interest to keep community together.

Can't it be implemented to the core of the game so that any different version of the game than the server's version cannot connect to the server? I thought it has already been done.

Faster game loading might be due to the reduction of amount of folders and files in 1.99.
