ARMA 2: OA beta build 81921
Michael Withstand replied to Dwarden's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - BETA PATCH TESTING
Umm BIS is the only one game company that made me tired of seeing their beta patches and to think that I love patches when it comes to my games . And I came relatively late into the game.(ArmA 2, close to OA release) So many, so rapid, so far, I am impressed. -
Pleeeze I hope I wouldn't need a new rig to run it in 2012. I can play ArmA 2 CO+BAF+PMC on all high atm. We want a beautiful graphics that runs well and smooth.

Aww Im getting this reinforcement too. I hope this will not create version mismatch. I mean the other people who bought DLC certainly don't suffer version mismatch. Anyone can help Colt on his issue?

ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead & Reinforcements, version 1.59 - Patch released
Michael Withstand replied to Dwarden's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
I just want to say that I'm getting the reinforcement pack though it costs US$39.90. It's to show my appreciation to BIS. -
Removing disc validation..when?
Michael Withstand replied to BeerHunter's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - BETA PATCH TESTING
Would rather have a full fledged expansion than another DLC. I'll pay another 50 bucks or so for a second expansion. -
Removing disc validation..when?
Michael Withstand replied to BeerHunter's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - BETA PATCH TESTING
Dude ti's been removed since 1.57 I think. I'm totally IMPRESSED by Bohemia Interactive and I'm a hard man to be impressed. BI exceeded my expectation of game developer and few game developers exceed my expectation. Their focus on quality and quantity, their impressive continual support, and their keeping promise to remove disc check. It's time for a second expansion! -
I'll buy it PROVIDED it's sold at Play Asia. I use transfer for payment. It's rare to see other web based store accepts transfer. And shipping is free too to my country with play asia.

Got game crash? Do this
Michael Withstand replied to Dwarden's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
No problem. Glad it helped. Did it? -
Right now when holding down right mouse button the aim will be zoomed to simulate the eyes taking aim and concentrating on the optics or iron sight. The problem with this is that the view also enlarges the target making it to seems closer than the target is actually is. This may feel like a minor thing but in effect it brings down the effect of range to all arms. Suddenly 600m is not that far anymore with this implemented while in reality you'll be having tremendous aiming problem trying to get a person size target down an iron sight. My suggestion is this that rather than zooming the entire screen right mouse button would only zoom on the weapon sight WITHOUT enlarging the target on the background. If people dislike it give it an option to choose the current default behavior or the new one. Just my 2 cents worth.

Combined Operations won't run after enabling expansions in menu
Michael Withstand posted a topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I can no longer run my ArmA 2 and OA after enabling ACE2 expansion through the OA menu. The ACE is the OA version. I've moved the whole expansions folder(with prefix @) from the game folder but still now when the game gets to the menu it would crash back to desktop. How do you reset the expansions? Damn it it was far more safer with parameter in the first place :( ---------- Post added at 11:11 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:43 AM ---------- All I need to know is how do you disable addons set from menu without actually getting into the menu because I can't get to the menu since it always crashing. It's the add-ons that are causing this.:( ---------- Post added at 11:40 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:11 AM ---------- Edit: Ah okay never mind I got it fixed. -
Right click zooming, an alternative
Michael Withstand replied to Michael Withstand's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
Aaah so that's what RMB zooming is. Thank you Sith. :). Nice so it's not a binocular vision after all. Since I'm a hardcore gamer I'll be playing with RMB pressed all the time :p -
Got game crash? Do this
Michael Withstand replied to Dwarden's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Well it's not a crash but if somehow CO or ArmA 2 goes to desktop or seems to have frozen, you need to press Esc then press alt-Enter to minimize the game and alt-Enter back into full screen. That should solve the problem. There's no need to close the program at all. It may help if you go to your document folder and change your ArmA 2 profile so that the refresh rate is set to match your monitor refresh rate. By default they are set to 75Hz. Hope this helps someone -
Trying to introduce Arma2 to people at a LAN party
Michael Withstand replied to =jps=sgtrock's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - MULTIPLAYER
Depending on the crowd some people may enjoy Team Vs team. I'd prefer longer team vs team. But imo you can get the most fun from real co-op game by taking careful approach to playing the game making it a coordinated team effort. Most public server never play this kind of game. But when you do find them the people are often much better soldier and pilot. -
Game still load but with this error message
Michael Withstand posted a topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Can anybody help me how to get rid this error message? ---------- Post added at 03:36 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:28 AM ---------- Never mind I did a search and found the solution. :) -
Looking for online co-op playing buddy for mainly campaign.
Michael Withstand posted a topic in ARMA 2 & OA - MULTIPLAYER
I really would like to try the campaign co-op with a buddy or two. I m on GMT+7 timezone. Feel free to PM me. On my current connection I don't think I'd be able to host more than one person but if you on the other hand have excellent upload speed we might be able to play some co-op with a few more people. My preference is 1. To play with ACE developer version which is updated every week or so. 2. HARC sound mod for ACE (@HARCP_ACE) 3. Zeus AI for ACE(@zcommon_ace) My spoken English is kind of funny but should be discernible :D. If you're interested or looking for additional co-op buddy feel free to PM me. -
I'm thinking about another middle east expansion. Specifically IDF and hypothetical middle eastern nation and faction. People who like the IDF would like the idea for being able to use some of the more exotic weaponry while those who loath the IDF would appreciate the game as well by having the chance to do some virtual damage to the ArmA 2 IDF faction by playing the opposing faction(Meh politicizing a game is stupid imo otherwise we wouldn't have had the chance to play so many WWII games, remember Nazism?) Or go Asia with Korea background(thick Asia forest, desert and green mountain in one map anyone?) Do you have other idea? IS next ArmA 2 installment coming?

What's next after Arrowhead?
Michael Withstand replied to Michael Withstand's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
Because ArmA 2 is too good not to have next standalone expansion ?! How about destructible buildings? Ummmmmm :D Fancy tearing a hole on the wall with that 7.62 mm? or that M107? Bang! Blood splattered . . .;) -

It was my attempt at swaying BI I know they will make a great game. They're all out even in churning patches  That would be GREAT!!! -
What's next after Arrowhead?
Michael Withstand replied to Michael Withstand's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
I'd recommend BI to start making a new expansion or standalone expansion to ArmA 2. I for one as I believe many others too are definitely interested in buying another standalone expansion to this already high quality wargaming. If I may suggest to include the previous DLCs into next standalone expansion. Come on BI Another 50-60 bucks for your next standalone expansion. The engine is already there. Much of the system and weaponry are already in place and you could use a lot from what has been developed so far. A new map, a new campaign, and a tad of new unique content would do the trick!... as long as the PC requirement remains the same or even improved(lowered) if possible. I'm hoping here :bounce3: -

ArmA2 / OA (low) performance issues
Michael Withstand replied to R3fl3x's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Umm how much performance gain can you get by disabling Hyperthreading? The more I think about performance the more I believe BI is following a socialist approach to gaming: Average or just a tiny bit little over average for most PCs low end or high end and I have seen similar kind of performance and pattern for many many other games that come from the Eastern side of Europe. -

CM Operation Flashpoint 3 announced | "Oops, they're doing it again..."
Michael Withstand replied to Undeceived's topic in OFFTOPIC
It's not that bad but I found many people disliking the game much. Don't consider any game too seriously if it gives you fun then it's a good game :) -
Pls remove cd check for OA in next patch
Michael Withstand replied to zaira's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
Didn't have the option for online activation here either. Would love a no cd patch for the next patch. :)
