Who else think BIS should concentrate on a role playing game a la Chernarus Life? They could improve it a lot and make an official game out of it. I really never have experienced such joy, adrenalin and epicness like in this mod, I think there is lot of potential in this mod and this role play type of gaming, just imagine this mod on the full map with 200+ players, pure epicness. I think the arma series could need some innovation, slowly the addons with just different location settings and more weapons and vehicles and this whole war setting loses its excitement. BIS are masters when it comes to large scale complex realistic multiplayer gaming and chernarus life is the perfect game type for this. I know they could make the most epic game ever out of it, I have seen in Chernarus Life what the engine is capable of and it's symply stunning, who ever played this mod with 30+ players knows what I'm talking about!

well then BIS is making a mistake not adding this realism settings in arma 3 and it should be the standard control not just in expert. when they really wanna make a good war simulation this is the way to go. we have enough arcade war games with this flat arcade controls...

Oh shit this game will be beyond epic, 50 citys on the island! check out how large the citys are in the video, he said also that every building will be enterable!!

What makes you say that, the game still looks realistic for me...

the realism like in a real flight simulator game like microsoft flight simulator or f22 lightning is the way to go, arma is a war simulator and this the next step! who disagree, the market is full with arcade games like battlefield.

I also would love to see the F22 (love it since the game F22 lightning) Seeing the F-15SE for the first time and it's looking really good, F18 would also be nice.

hmm I agree but I take it with a grain of salt, it's the same like in arma2, the screens looked good, pimped all the way with depth of field and blur filter to look as good as possible but in the end the game was crippled and the game still feels like a beta and couldn't use it full potential. so its not just about how the game looks, but how the game feels in the end, I would rather love to have the arma 2 graphics but with a fluid nice improved engine with great physics, everything bug free, a fluid netcode that gives you hours of fun and all the things the players would love to have like shooting from vehicles, walking arround in vehicles like in boats, custom equippable weapons and armor, underwater swimming. So I just hope they concentrate on these important things and don't just make everything look better like the step from arma 1 to arma 2 and just stuff it with physics and some improvements.

This. The teaser is a pure waste of money for BIS and maybe cool to look at for some kiddies and BF3 players. Arma 3 is about a war simulation and they should concentrate to show the potential of a sandbox like gameplay and show the engine or something and they should stop trying to look just like another ego war shooter a la battlefield. It's the same waste of money like using real models for marketing screens. I wanted to discuss this subject in this thread I made but unfortunately it got deleted.

You can say what you want but this is the fact: Desert terrain = boring mixed terrain with deep forests, grassland, cliffs = interesting I really hope we get some forests, but I also can't see any forests on Limnos :( Just imagine how epic it would be to fight in a deep rainforest like in this one: forest

I hope it's possible I still remember how much fun it was to shoot out from vehicles in Joint Operations Typhoon Rising, the gameplay of this game was pretty good, a bit similar to arma, just a bit more arcade, but the netcode was much better, it runned perfectly smooth even you played with 250 ppl on one server. what also was cool, you could take a seat in the vehicle or move arround free in a heli or boat, this was just much more fun, not so restricted like in arma where you could just look arround. swiming underwater was also great in joint operations, I remember how I was hiding underwater and waited for enemys to come across and then I got out and killed them with a knife, I had some epic moments with this game. hope it will be in arma3, but I doubt it.

When I try to click on it in the taskbar I can hear the sounds of the game and can control it but I don't see it, just my desktop. I think it's a bug, because I have a new installed system, just formated computer and a clean windows 7 install with updates and everything and new installed Arma 2 with latest official patch from the official site. I had the same problem, before I formated...

how I solved the problem, deinstalled physx and installed riva tuner and decreased the clock speed.

they could do millions with this by releasing it as a 9.99€ game and also in the mac appstore that is opening in 2 days :P

The problem is, Chernarus Life is a bit hard to learn for beginners, there is a tutorial on the map tabs, but it's not really good, in the best case you have someone who shows you everything, or you have to learn it by experience and ask others, this can take a bit before you understand how everything works, but once you are in it, it's a mindblowing experience, then it's like gta but without the AI and far more better, just a dinamic city with endless possibilities, as a criminal you can steal cars, rob the bank, rob civs, open a gang, capture gang areas, gang wars with other gangs, car chases with the police, drug dealing, building own hidings in forests and more, just driving arround the city when many players are online and seeing what everything happens is amazing, how I said it's like nothing I experienced before, I suggest you give it a try also when it's not so easy in the begining it's absolutely worth the time. Still love playing arma, especially good coop misison, sadly there are not many servers online, and I have no time for a clan, and after all this epic time with this mod I know it can be improved to an absolutely epic game.

First BIS need to learn what User Experience means.

I have this problem now nearly everytime after just 5-15min playing, when I play in window mode I can see the error message, it says: display driver stopped responding and has recovered and something with kernel driver panic. It's hard to believe that it's a hardware problem, because I just have this problem with arma2, not in any other game I play :(

Battleye just kicks normal legit players from servers randomly, because they get the message "BattlEye Initialization Failed" I played on many servers where Battleye is on and there are still hackers detroying the gameplay, it doesnt really prevent hackers or cheaters... So I make the Conclusion Battleye is just a big fail destroying the gameplay! I also installed Arma2 on a fresh new system and couldn't join servers, because of Battleye... I had to install first these files as mentioned in this post... Bohemia please do something against this Battleye it's just a big bag of hurt!

On the server I play mostly, (HGs Chernarus life Server) nearly everyone who plays there have BE installed, they still get kicked in the game randomly, they get the message "BattlEye Initialization Failed" don't know why but it happens often also to me, it's a complex RP mod Server so you can imagine it's not fun when you played one hour made a lot of cash and then you get kicked and lose everything. Oh and I play as an Admin in win7 ultimate.

On the server I always play ping kicking is disabled, I have a constant 25 ping there, still Battleye very often kicks players randomly including me :(

Seems to work no crash so far! :D
