not impressed with ARMA2 campaign so far
Devil Dogs SF replied to Honeycutt's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
That's because the main appeal that draws many people to the game is the editor, which allows you to use whatever you wish to create scenarios of your own. And yes, Force Recon is special forces. Saying the Army is the only branch with Special Forces worth mentioning is wrong, and what about Navy Seals, one of the US's best special forces groups? They aren't called the Navy Seals because it sounds better than Army Seals. -

Hey Kylania, how does one save as .paa? I use jpg and it doesn't appear to look as good as pictures using .paa format. -

Harvest Red is the most realistic campaign in terms of Special Forces stuff (minus probably the high command stuff, though I wouldn't doubt it if they would lead friendly guerillas), Special Forces don't just gun down millions of insurgents day by day. Either way, good special forces campaigns are Sick1's 1 SFOD-D campaign and SEAL campaigns. -

Thanks, they're my first intros, hopefully I can improve on them a bit for a new missions. Also, Armaholic has the fixed mission now which doesn't require oac.core. Updated it on first post. -

CM Operation Flashpoint 3 announced | "Oops, they're doing it again..."

For Insurgents yes, but I hope not for modern US troops, and seeing as it is Codemasters I wouldn't be surprised if it was. -

Reuploaded Not Over Yet as I accidentally used an addon which I didn't mean to, making it require a download. Not Over Yet [v1.5] -

Anyone notice that the M16 was labeled M16A1? I do hope that was a mistake on the magazines part, because if Codemasters have an M16A1 in a game featuring modern soldiers...Epic fail on the 'realism' of weapons already. -

Will my PC Run this? What CPU/GPU to get? What settings? System Specifications.
Devil Dogs SF replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Pentium D 935 3.20 Ghz. I've moved up 2GB of RAM to 4GB and am wondering if I should consider buying a Quad core also, I don't want to spend a lot, just enough to run Arma 2 slightly better than it runs now until I buy an i7 or better next year. -

Do you guys think 3.20Ghz is fast for a dual core? -

Fox, do you think (Of course, if you ever go for Russian troops that is) that you could make some First Chechen War (1994-1996) Russian soldiers and some Chechen rebels? Chechens would be pretty similar to some NAPA units minus the uniform flecktarn they have. Here are plenty of (Some graphic) pictures from Russian soldiers from First Chechen War: http://artofwar.ru/n/nemenow_a_e/an05.shtml -
Does anyone know what Coopers (Main playable character in Harvest Red) face is? I want to put his face on a regular USMC Squad Leader and not just use a different African American face.

I also like Single Player, I find it a chore to find a server, and those with enough people are usually password locked. I considered wanting to join a group so I could play some Co-op since I actually do find that rather fun, but didn't know which was strictly Co-op so I simply stuck to single player and mission editing. -

Wiggum's right, maybe you should give a BMP 2 and a T-55 or T-72 instead of a BMP 3 and a T-90, those are Russian Army equivilents and would be really over powered. -

Independent would kinda make sense, but why OPFOR? They're on the US side. -
I fully understand Single player briefings, but am apparently having some issues with a briefing for a Team v Team Co-op. I play as one of the playable units but it doesn't show the objectives nor the notes, I've looked it over and can't find anything wrong. As I'm optimistic someone can help me with this, could someone also tell me how I'd go about setting it so all players can read their teams briefing? As if this is like single player briefings only the team leader can read the briefing. my briefing is this: My init:

Making one of two vehicles activate a trigger
Devil Dogs SF posted a topic in ARMA 2 & OA : MISSIONS - Editing & Scripting
I am trying to make a mission where one of two vehicles being defended in a convoy needs to make it to one area to the other, but unfortunately I am running into issues. The SCUD is named scud1 and the other scud2, they are not grouped and the playable units are given a moveincargo in their init, so in other words the SCUD is placed in the editor as empty. What I'm wanting it for just the vehicle in general, doesn't matter who is driving (Since the first selected drivers may die and need to be replaced by another player), to activate certain triggers. What I have in the trigger condition is this: But it didn't activate the trigger when it passed through. I really need a quick answer to this please. :( Once again, scud1 and scud2 are placed in the editor as empty. -
Where do I save the missions? Arma 2 OA
Devil Dogs SF replied to mercilous8921's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - USER MISSIONS
Place the .pbo into your Arma 2/Missions folder. For a Campaign, place the .pbo into Arma 2/Campaigns (create if it's not there)
