Thank god there is someone else out there like me. I've been playing multiplayer games for some time now and this is the first game that has me stumped when it comes to mod/addon download tools. I'm betting this is one of the main reasons the game has not gotten as popular as others.

Speaking for myself the mod system is far too complicated. It seems with using mods in other games it's far mosre simple. Just download, click and it self installs. With ARMA2 there's different types of installers with very vague directions on how to use. It seems you can spend eternity browsing the forums trying to figure out Yoma or sixupdater. Jesus, I would give anything for one simple noob thread that gives decent start to finish directions for using the ACE mod on a server (example).

I have a suggestion that hopefully will help noobs like me. This thread is helpful but it's over 60 pages in length. Perhaps a locked thread that one optimization master could start, that details each suggestion to get the game to play better. It's just seems sometimes what one person says works, another person says doesn't work, and it's hard to keep everything in order. The fricking game has potential, but I'm like most people who get anywhere from 27-33 fps no matter what I do, and my computer is on the high end of power. Regards...

Downloaded and installed Arma2 launcher, and when I click on it it says, "ArmaA Executable not found! Select the correct ArmaA execuable." Where do I point the .exe to?

Ok, so in my root folder I have the following: addons, battleye, dta, keys, missions, arma2, arma2server, arma2_manual_us, bis, iijl15.dll, readme, uninstall.csv, @GL4, uninstall, and userconfig. The two highlited ones are from your mod. Is this correct? I'm not sure what to expect since I just got the game and when i entered into the game there was no Special FX edition splash screen. Ok, downloaded the mod and dropped file in the ARMA 2 root directory along with all the other main files. The mod file is @GL4 My question is about the next part in the install order, "Drag the "UserConfig" folder from "@GL4\UserConfig" in your Armed Assault 2 root directory." Now I see the UserConfig folder, but don't understand where to drag it. Do I delete the UserConfig folder, or darg it to desktop and then place in back into the ARMA 2 root directory? Sorry for the noob question, but my first time placing a mod. Regards...
