  1. Created a mission in the editor where an AI controlled chopper drops off my squad on the edge of Rahmadi so that we can move in and attack the occupied town. The mission works flawlessly in Preview mode and singleplayer but once I start it in Multiplayer the chopper will not land even If I give the disembark command, it just hovers there eternally. What do I have to do to make multiplayer missions work? P.S There are no external scripts called Thanks

Suppose I better give something back to the community Hi Jedra, as you're getting started with arma 2 mods you MUST learn to use mod folders, here is a video showing you how to use them: Remember to put a ; semicolon between the @mod folders in your shortcut if you have more than one. Also about sixupdater. six updater works through a series of servers which host all of the mods in the list you see in six updater, there isn't a way to add mods that aren't on that list, it's up to the server to decide whether they want to host it. An alternative program for keeping mods up to date is YOMA, have a look at that. Just make sure that the mod you want to download has a YOMA repository. Only download and update ACE through SIX! Hope that helps.

  7. I've been having another problem with ace for a some time (since I installed it a few months ago) and I was hoping it would work after updates eventually but it doesn't... First, I can't use the crew served weapons. I can deploy an M3 tripod for example and it works, then if I put an M2 machine gun bag in my gear and try to interact with the tripod I get no options. Same deal with the C4 and Satchel charges, I can place them on the round but I can't detonate them.

  9. I can run SIX in no auto-update mode, it's telling me that my version of @ACE is up to date, but on joining a server I am one version behind. When I click the sync button in SIX it gives me this message: From what I can tell, If it can't find out which is the latest version (this must be hosted on dev-heaven?) then it must assume that I have the latest one. P.S yes my version is 2.2dev :)
  10. It appears (to me) that the dev-heaven website is down.. I can't even get to the main page, i just get "server not found" When starting six updater the command prompt updater box appears, gives a 404 error and the program crashes. Anyone else having problems?

Hello, I've tried joining domination and warfare among a few other servers in operation arrowhead 1.52. when I join the server and select my unit e.g 1-1-L sniper, after that screen the game has a loading screen, when that is finished I get an error to do with config.bin/cfgglasses and then my internet disappears and the game gives me the no message received for x seconds notifications. I have to restart my computer to be able to use the internet again after it happens. I use an ASUS rx3041 router and I have an onboard NIC (Atheros L1 gigabit ethernet connector) if it may be an issue with hardware then that may help. My copy of operation arrowhead is installed seperately from ArmA 2, I also tried using the beta patch but that was unsuccessful. Any help is appreciated, and if you need to know anything about my system or what happens just ask as long as it goes towards finding the problem. EDIT: a friend who was on the server just told me that each time I tried to connect it gave a battle-eye message, I will try and install the latest version. Thanks -trezza

Hey guys, So far I've managed to make the terrain of an island, make a satellite image and mask, I've followed opteryxes tutorial and gone over everything many times, but whenever i get to the import satellite and mask bit, the bar goes up to half way and then stops, if i click the X on the bar's little window visitor disappears, little help? and If you want any information on my files/computer ask for what you need to help. Thanks in advance. Here's some info PC Specs: Mask_LCO + Sat_LCO are both normal 8 bit PNGs Layers file: The offtas folder is located in my P:\ drive. the Layers.cfg is in P:\offtas\source with the mask, mat and maplegend Here is an example RVMAT: RVMAT files are located in P:\offtas\data with the texture files it needs. I'm going to try removing offtas\data from the directory leaving just the texture's filename to see if the RVMAT will work with textures from it's own dir... probably won't work. EDIT: Nope, that didn't help. by the way, just FYI the end of the loading bar in import satellite data stops under the T in data. I might not be waiting long enough but I left it for 15 minutes once and it didn't move + all of the menus were white so the whole program had crashed pretty much. When I was explaining that the texture size was 4m x 4m I decided I would try changing that to a higher value, I used 64x64, ran the sat/mask and HORAY it worked, all of this researching for something SO VERY SIMPLE. Oh well If anyone ever has a problem they might find my thread.

  14. Here we are, this thread may be very useful for people creating brand new vegetation! In here people can post up reference pictures of different trees bushes and plants. Things like photos of bark, branches, leaves, grass and I think pictures of the ground, EXCITING :p. I haven't got any material at the moment but I'll go and grab the camera then edit this post with some pics! I took these in my back yard, then it rained so i had to come in.   15. Are you able to choose if the leaves are made as models or just a plane with a texture applied to them?
  16. Get the sat_lco image to show as the background image in visitor? I've downloaded a sample map and I am able to see the satellite image in the sample island, it would be handy for road placement but it just isn't showing up on my island. So far I've been able to export to bulldozer and the island and textures load fine. Can someone please help me with this one?
  17. Wow that's a lot of pictures. When i take my dirtbike out I usually go up to Murrindindi, Toolangi and Narbethong to ride, Seeing as you're from melbourne too you probably know those places mikebart. Here's some pictures of the area, for anyone who doesn't know the tree trunks are black because of a huge fire that went through early in 2009. Sorry for any photos with a blue tint. This hill, evil. photo makes it look small.

  20. Hey all, this has been a problem I've been having since starting island building. Please help this is really setting me back, my island Molovin is set in an area on the border of serbia and croatia, it would have an authentic feel especially because arma2's foliage and buildings match what's in photos of the area in real life. I'd love to complete it with a nice clean log file to show for it.

I'd be interested in creating an Australian tree set for arma2, the modeling looks difficult and complex, too many things in one place, I'm not good at difficult and complex but I'd be willing to go out with my camera to find native trees and snap some shots of the bark, a whole tree from a few different angles and also spend some time picking off leaves and twigs of a few branches until i have a flat branch which I could take a photo of against a flat surface all to help with the textures, most eucalyptus trees are quite tall with long trunks so you wouldn't need to worry too much about the detail of the leaves because they all grow at the top. Also the grass could be replaced, in the Australian bush I've found that the forest floor is mostly small ferns or bracken, the grass grows in tufts more often than a complete layer of grass like in chernarus. If anyone with plant making experience is interested then PM me and tell me what is needed. I'd like to have a go with an authentic Aussie island for arma2!
  23. Hello everyone, I've been looking around on the net for a .P3D viewer. I've been using bulldozer to view my models but I have to allow it to load, when I'm looking at all of the tree types for adding to my island it becomes very time consuming loading each model. Does anyone know of a quicker way, is there a faster program to use where i can simply go file>load>xxx.p3d? Certainly would be handy. trezza

    Yes, that's actually how ive been doing it but i still have to load bulldozer each time, or can i load a different p3d into bulldozer while it's running, like switching to a different file without loading a new instance of bulldozer.

    Arma forest generator

    I've been watching a show called "the pacific", it's on tv here in Australia, it's about the second world war in the pacific, part 1 and 2 has been based in Guadalcanal in the Solomon islands. I've had a quick glance at the island on google maps and it looks very big, it could be made but the number of trees would be astonishing. with the help of a forest generating tool and the jungle vegetation pack, I could try and make this island, if it's too big I could try one of the smaller islands nearby, there's no shortage. I'm sure Guadalcanal wasn't the only island used by the japs in WWII, great theater of war.
