Arma 2: Namalsk Crisis
Psychopathus replied to Sumrak's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Hey Sumrak, congrats on the release! Gonna try it asap -
You have to uncomment that line only if you're using ACE and want SLX skills. When you select the addons in game, did you place CBA above SLX? Is your CBA updated to the latest version? Some ways to really see if SLX's wound is working: place some units in the editor and explode' em with satchels (there'll be lots of blood and body parts, at least if you haven't put SLX_NoGibs.pbo in your addons folder), shot'em with a M107 (they'll explode :D), or shooting the ground close to your foot (you'll start bleeding). I have it working in CO with A2 retail patched to 1.08 and Steam's OA 1.57. Hope it helps

ARMA2 & OA's Steam Thread: All Steam Q's/discussions go here [covered by Dwarden]
Psychopathus replied to gimpymoo's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
@rodsfree: PMC and BAF require OA. About 'the dreaded "Steam's servers are too busy..."', try changing your server region on "Steam->Settings->Download+Cloud" -
CO mod folder trouble (read the whole thing before you flame, please)
Psychopathus replied to Coldfire's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Just edit your _runA2CO file. Where it reads "-mod=%_ARMA2PATH%;EXPANSION;ca" just add the mods you're using at the end, like this: "-mod=%_ARMA2PATH%;EXPANSION;ca;@CBA;@WICT;@SLX;@zeu_AI;@JSRS;@sthud;@at_gui_OA;@INKO;@Tweaks" Hope it helps -- Oops, I misread your post, that's not the answer you want, heheehehehehehe. Sorry -
Taki scenario, it's a nice and original theme for a campaign. The last mission could be a "fight to death" scenario, it'd be epic (just my 2 cents, hehehehehe). Don't worry about "a lot of people who play arma 2 are (ex-)military.". It's just a game and the rule "don't like it, don't play it" applies. Simple as that.

ARMA 2: CO (how to combine ARMA 2 into ARMA 2:OA and use together)
Psychopathus replied to Dwarden's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
@Failberry heheehehe if you mean that command line window that pops up when you choose "Launche Arma2: Combined Operation", no worries, it's just executing a .cmd file (that _runA2CO.cmd) to "merge" Arma2 and OA -
@Sanelli: delete slx_modweapons_nocrosshairs.pbo and slx_modweapons_nocrosshairs.pbo.SLX_MOD_A2.bisign from your @SLX/addons directory @Solus: hey Solus, I've been using SLX since those old days of OFP and it's certainly a must have mod. Keep up your good work!

HiFi - Single Sound Modules (Weapons BETA released!!)
Psychopathus replied to Mark XIII (DayZ)'s topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Hi wildone_106, AFAIK, you have to put your @Hifi_something folders in c:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\Arma2 So it should look like c:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\Arma2\@Hifi_ace, c:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\Arma2\@Hifi_air and so on Hope it helps (and sorry my english) Edit: By the way, great sound mod Mark! It's a must have -
Yet more Dogs of War bugs!
Psychopathus replied to grimfer's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - OFFICIAL MISSIONS
Hehe, I've given up official campaign when I was playing DoW. When I was Then official campaign was over for me. But try playing user missions/campaigns, some are really good -
Badlands Questions (high command)
Psychopathus replied to Hammer_757's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - OFFICIAL MISSIONS
If I'm not mistaken you can use F12 to access the other units "page", then Fx to select unit 1x. F11 goes back to units 1-10. Hope it helps. As for the "control" question, I really don't know its answer. I've been playing mostly squad based missions not HC ones. -
Namalsk island, v1.10
Psychopathus replied to Sumrak's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Yep, you can't go through them. When I played in this island for the first time I got stuck a couple of times...but I think you can step over them, dunno Edit: sorry Sumrak, we posted at the same time... -
Namalsk island, v1.10
Psychopathus replied to Sumrak's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
To install this map, you extract the Nightstalker (or whatever name it's called) folder (I believe there's a "addons" folder inside) to your arma2 directory, then you'd load it as a regular addon. To update the map, you simply extract all pbo files into your nightstalker/addons folder. I've never used a launcher, but don't you have to tick it (if it shows namalsk/nightstalkers as an addon)? -
Yeah, funny Arma physics!
-
No man, you understood me wrong (or probably I didn't expressed well my opinion). What I meant is there're some new players (not OFP/Arma veterans) that struggle to order their soldiers around (there're lots of n00b questions in these forums regarding this). And for a console, there's a high chance of the majority of players being complete OFP/Arma n00bs. You hadn't any problem ordering 18 soldiers with a controller. I wouldn't either. But n00bs would.

Namalsk island, v1.10
Psychopathus replied to Sumrak's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
AFAIK you don't need the bat file (it's just a way to startup Arma2 without a shortcut. Open it in notepad and you'll see it). If you're using the traditional shortcut method, just add your namalsk folder to it: -mod=@mod1;mod2;namalsk (or whatever name your folder is called) -
Seal Team Six Campaign release (SP)
Psychopathus replied to sick1's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - USER MISSIONS
Yep, the usual way "-mod=@mod1;mod2;@so_on". I don't recommend naming your dirs 1, 2, 3, etc... it'd become a mess specially if you wanna delete or update a addon.;) In fact, I use a .bat file...I find it easier to edit. Sorry Sick1 for the offtopic post :) -
How Satisfied with Arma2 Are you??
Psychopathus replied to mattyh1986's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Yeah, I voted "Some problems but I just deal with it and get on, game is still enjoyable" but probably with the next patch I'd vote "Extremely, Awesome game! no problems whatsoever". But I believe OFP (the old one)/Arma series are great/getting great mostly because of the community for providing constant feedback and trying to make the games better and better. BIS you're happy to have such a devoted community! I bet all devs'd like to have this kind of support from their users. -
Seal Team Six Campaign release (SP)
Psychopathus replied to sick1's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - USER MISSIONS
Hey Sick, I downloaded v1.3 twice and I got CRC error when extracting both times. Anyway, great campaign! @horrgakx: have you tried the traditional shortcut way of loading addons? -
I believe it's been asked before (I tried searching but it doesn't work well...) so: are projectiles' trajectory affected by wind and/or weather conditions? I've been playing for a while and the ballistics seem to be those from good-old OFP...
-
I don't own a Xbox360 or PS3 (at the moment...) but I believe BIS could make some sort of Arma port for consoles where you play as a grunt or specop and you have a few soldiers under command (4, max - there're people struggling to order 11 soldiers with a keyboard and mouse, imagine them with a controller...). You know what would be sweet? Arma and ProjectNatal. Imagine choosing and ordering your soldiers around just with hand signals and voice commands. It'd create an incredible battlefield experience

civillian children
Psychopathus replied to Archamedes's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
"Arma 2? Isn't that the game where you set kids on fire and rape them using alsatians and goats?". It made me laugh. Yeah, I agree with Master gamawa. It's a very sensitive area and it'd probably cause more harm than good to videogames in general. You throw a few kids, someone kills them and post a video on youtube as Master gamawa said. A few weeks later, the Arma series is banned in most coutries and the whole world goes into that discussion "Are videogames bad for people?" again. -
@Uziyahu--IDF: the idea of placing an invisible target would also work on supressing fire, I've read somewhere in this forum there's a mod for Arma that do just that. But the biggest game breaker to me is (it's been said before): you're walking slowly and crouched in a forest with lots of bushes. Then, suddenly, your character says "Enemy man front far" (but you can't see a thing) or worse, someone says "Enemy helicopter in <place city name>", then you switch to the unit and you can only see trees and bushes! It's a huge gamebreaker but it's good to have some AI soldiers in your team: they are walking radars!

Namalsk island, v1.10
Psychopathus replied to Sumrak's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Nice work! Every time I play this island it remembers me of Half-Life 2 and I think I'll encounter some Combine Forces in the cities... Just some feedback: - at A1 area, if you try walking on the "alien thing" you fall through the object; - traveling around with a motorcycle, man, it's really cool! Once my motorcycle reached 110km/h and I got killed after losing control! About the "Find snowmens on Namalsk" event, is it over? -
I'm 22 years old

Hey man, nice work! The gun's sound and recoil really make it feel powerful! Just curious of what would've happened to the soldier if you had shot him... Looking forward to playing this mod!
